Information

From the time LSPDFR first came out, I wanted to add a bit more variety to what you could do.

This does just that.

Just detained a suspect and want to check their car for anything else you can charge them for? Simply go to any door of their car and press 'G' to search it. You can search the hood, trunk, and doors of a car. After a second or two, a notification will pop up, displaying what you found, if anything. This could be anything from some alcohol to license plates to a weapon. It's not just limited to just one item, either. You could find a weapon and some drugs, or maybe this guy likes to steal and has license plates, forged ID cards, and another vehicle's registration. If you've already searched a vehicle, then it will notify you of that, and list the items you found. If you accidentally search a car when you don't want to, press the search key again or just use a movement key and it will cancel the search.

In addition, you can pull out equipment from your trunk, such as rifles, body armor, and med-kits, in case a situation becomes more than just a small handgun can handle.

This plugin also has controller support. Just press left on the DPad by default to search a vehicle.

Installation and Usage

You need the Rage Plugin Hook for this to work. The newest version has been tested with Rage Plugin Hook v0.34.862.6641 ONLY and may not work with older versions.

When you have that installed, drop both the .dll and the .ini into your Plugins folder. Once you're in-game, press F4 to bring up the Rage Hook console, and type 'LoadPlugin VehicleSearch.dll' (without the apostrophes). If you're running an older Rage Hook, it will probably say something about the plugin not being verified. Just hit the up arrow, and then enter again. It should load correctly. After that, simply press the search key (default 'G' / 'LeftDPad') when near a vehicle's door to search it.

Configuration

In the included .ini file, you can edit things such as the button/key mapping, what items you can find, and the odds of finding an item. For more advanced users, you can change the animation your character uses as he searches.

If you have a great idea of something that would work well with the system already in place, then go ahead and tell me; if I think it would fit well, then I'll do my best to add it.

Do you have the latest version? (When you click download, it's the bottom-most one.)

I'll check if I added any float values without adjusting for culture info.
Edit: I don't see anything I added in the newest version that would affect that, check if you have the latest version.

Having the same problem. Double checked and reinstalled to be sure, but I have the latest version.

Did you also replace your ini file? I'll give the code another look and see if I can't come up with why that's happening.

Edit: If you could PM me your own crash log, that'd be great, with your computer's language in the message.

It would be cool if certain items would allow you to go a step further, So say you find something there are 2 categories.. 1. regular items like you have listed up top (license plates, etc.) And then another category where you can go a step further. So say one of these items is white powdery substance, or blue pills another prompt will come up with the text (NUMPAD 1 - Test with Nik Kit) (NUMPAD 2- Do not test) And it has a chance to come back positive or negative. If it come back negative the person will get back into their car and drive off, or positive (obviously you can arrest them at this point)

May just seem like a lot of extra work but hey, it's just a suggestion! :)

Any suggestion is always nice!

If I get the time I might just work on something like that. In the v2.0 version I'm working on, there's a separate drug list (meant to work with FinKone's Police Radio) that could also be used for something like that.

Hello, I have put the mod into the plugins folder but when I load up GTA on ragehook the game freezes and if I press F4 again it unfreezes. I noticed in the ragehook ini file that I load up ragehook with developer mode "false" and when I quit GTA and open the ini file it is "true". Can you please help me because I really want to use this mod. :/

If you have Script Hook V, try deleting that. If it works, then try the latest Script Hook V. Can't help you much more than that. This is more of a Rage Hook issue, so you're better off getting support at forums.ragepluginhook.net.

Wasn't aware they stopped working -- I'll check it out. I'm actually testing v2.0 of this right now, so expect that soon-ish.

@FtDLulz I have to say I seen a couple comments between you and FinKone, boy am I getting excited, you both are great but together...I dont know if im gonna be able to handle it, really.
