(55 reviews)

6 Screenshots

PLDPlayer Location Display is a script modification that displays the player's current location (including street name or intersection, area name, and region) at the bottom-left corner of the user's screen.

DESCRIPTION
− PLD displays the player’s current in-game location on the screen.
− Location includes street name or intersection, district name, and region.
− PLD also displays the current in-game time.
− PLD allows the user to toggle the size of the radar and provides some informative multiplayer** features.

NOTES
− Consult the FEATURE INFO file to learn more about PLD and its features.
− It is recommended that you disable subtitles (PAUSE > SETTINGS > DISPLAY > SUBTITLES) when using PLD to prevent overlap.
**Multiplayer is understood to be a 3rd party multiplayer mod, such as FiveReborn.

INSTALLATION
− A GTAV ScriptHook must be installed for any .asi modification to work. The original may be found HERE.
− Using script modifications in GTA Online can result in a temporary or permanent ban from the service.

− 1. Place the .asi and .ini files provided in the download inside your main GTAV game directory.
− 2. Modify the .ini file as you see fit.
− 3. Start your game.

CREDITS
− PLD is coded by Lt.Caine.
− Thank you to Alexander Blade without whose work scripting for GTAV would not be possible.

How to turn on/off parking break?

Hold G to toggle parking I believe.

First I tried to turn off the parking brake all together by setting the keybind to 000 as instructed *just found that out*

It still applied the brake.

Have yet to hold G and see if that works for me.

Thanks though

@Ganter66: Do you mean that the engine--and, therefore, the lights--remain on when you exit a vehicle? If so, then that is normal and due to the GTA IV-style vehicle exit feature. If you want to exit the vehicle and turn the engine--and the lights--off, then you need to keep your exit vehicle button pressed about until the player character has left the car. Also, if you don't like this feature, you may disable it in the PLD.ini file by setting the "IvEnterExit" option to "off" (without the " ", of course).

Hi @Lt.Caine my game crashed (to desktop, no error message) today (latest Ragehook, scripthook, game). I was driving my car. No stop, no accident, not using indicators : just driving slow.

After checking Windows logs, I see that : (sorry my system is in french so the logs too...) but the interesting part is "faulty module : PLD.asi". I don't know if this is the real cause of the crash but... why not ? :p

I set the parking break to "off" in the .ini but all the vehicles in the game still have their parking lights stuck on.

Nevermind, was able to make a change in visualsettings dat that fixed it. was not an issue with this mod.

Great mod! But IVEnterExit and Hazard lights don't work. Pressing and holding the "Exit Vehicle" does nothing. So I only can exit with engine running. My custom hazard shortcut ("i") doesn't start the hazard lights. Indicators work.

Could you please make it so the indicators won't turn off automatically? Or at least include a toggable option for that? Because the indicators usually always turn off before i can make the maneuver or the turn. Otherwise, this mod is flawless.

Hey, great mod! I was wondering if key combinations were recognized in the .ini. Say Shift+Arrows for the indicators. If so, how do you set this up in the .ini? Thanks

Any other way to get the vehicle essential features? Since they're not packaged anymore?

I guess I'll be sticking with 2.17 as I actually quite like the vehicle essentials, I prefer them over More Control V's at least.

Sorry for the inconvenience. The Vehicle Essentials features will be repackaged into another mod called Basic Vehicle Actions (BVA) which should be releasing soon.

The layout is nice and I'm enjoying it! I saw someone asked earlier about your previous version if it uses the language files so you can keep your modified texts to match realistic LA and I have the same question about the new version. I changed the global.gxt2s in their respective places but it seems to be still pulling Los Santos details. If you can reassure me your mod is pulling the language files I will go back and be sure I replaced them in their correct locations, thanks!!

@Sizzlenuts: It does use the names from the GXT for the most part, but not entirely, as I make some swaps along the way. So, it is normal to see some default-themed names display with PLD despite having installed a GXT mod. This is because I couldn't devise an efficient way to apply the changes I wanted to the default names, all the while accommodating GXT modifications. It is something I have kept in mind, however, and I should be looking into it for future iterations of the mod.

Thanks for the reply @Lt.Caine just wanted to make sure it wasn't something I was doing wrong. Very clean looking mod, love it regardless and looking forward to future updates. Thanks!
