C.E.S (Custom ELS Sirens) 1.7.0.3

(4 reviews)

1 Screenshot

This plugin is designed to run ALONGSIDE ELS, it does NOT replace it!

Requirements:

1. Grand Theft Auto V (Legit Copy)

2. RagePluginHook (Latest Version)

3. NAudio (Included)

4. ELS (Emergency Lighting System)

Installation:

1. Open the folder "Grand Theft Auto V" provided in this download.

2. Drag and drop all files and folders into your main GTA V installation directory.

(Where GTA5.exe is located).

Usage:

I suggest loading the Plugin on startup or else no sirens will work.

Drop your siren .WAV files in the "WAV" Folder.

Open the Menu (Default key: F10) and start customizing your sirens.

You can choose between a Global Profile (applies to all vehicles) and Vehicle Specific Profiles (overrides the Global Profile and only applies to a specific vehicle).

Showcase:

A note on the "Patch VCFs" Button:

This will turn off all sirens in the VCF .xml files inside your ELS -> pack_default Folder.

However C.E.S. will create a backup of your original VCFs.

After patching a game restart is required for the changes to take effect.

Although you can patch them yourself by searching for 'AllowUse="true"' under the <SOUNDS> category and setting 'true' to 'false'. Repeat for all.

How it should look:

<SOUNDS>

<MainHorn InterruptsSiren="true" AudioString="SIRENS_AIRHORN" />

<ManTone1 AllowUse="false" AudioString="VEHICLES_HORNS_SIREN_1" />

<ManTone2 AllowUse="false" AudioString="VEHICLES_HORNS_SIREN_2" />

<SrnTone1 AllowUse="false" AudioString="VEHICLES_HORNS_SIREN_1" />

<SrnTone2 AllowUse="false" AudioString="VEHICLES_HORNS_SIREN_2" />

<SrnTone3 AllowUse="false" AudioString="VEHICLES_HORNS_POLICE_WARNING" />

<SrnTone4 AllowUse="false" AudioString="VEHICLES_HORNS_AMBULANCE_WARNING" />

<AuxSiren AllowUse="false" AudioString="VEHICLES_HORNS_SIREN_1" />

<PanicMde AllowUse="false" AudioString="VEHICLES_HORNS_POLICE_WARNING" />

</SOUNDS>

Will controller support be added??? I was excited to download this just to find out there is no support. A little disapointing but understandable as it is a new mod.

I suppose support for it will be added at some point, this mod is not the main plugin they are developing, I believe Megenta is taking a break from development last I heard due to an injury so would not expect it any time soon at least not till the end of the month.

This mod has AMAZING potential. Here are some fixes:

  1. Whenever I first press the button to use an addon siren my game drops significant FPS.

  2. The sirens do not sound good when they are dual use (meaning they use both the actual OG ELS file sirens and the addon sirens simultaneously.)

  3. If I create an addon siren through CES, I should be able to enter the custom siren string in the OG ELS file so it essentially fills in place for whichever Resident.RPF siren string I originally had in there.

  4. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add controller support.

    This mod has AMAZING potential. If you can implement the improvements above, it would be an absolute godsend. Thank you for all your hard work!

You have to mute the ELS sirens in their vehicles ELS VCF.

I'll have a look at the other points you've mentioned but this mod isn't my priority as I more or less uploaded it for fun.

I don't plan on the plugin accessing internal rof files as that is way to complex and I'm pretty sure it's not even possible (correct me if I'm wrong).

The solution of dropping the WAV files in the folder is the easiest and most user friendly solution.

this is great, but a few things. when using the airhorn the els airhorn still sounds even after using fix vcf. as previously mentioned with hybrid els vehicles, when you exit your vehicle the lights stop flashing. as well as I have my els airhorn and manual set to a different key, my mouse button 4 and 5, this does not effect this mod. ideally we need a way to change the hotkeys for siren control in this mod.

Unfortunately, muting the airhorn in the ELS VCFs doesn't stop it from playing in game. You'd have to drop a muted horn audio file in your Resident.rpf.

I'll have a look into the hybrid ELS vehicles.

Button remapping will be coming at some point, as well as controller support.

awesome. I will try the resident.rpf idea, that's smart, didn't even think of it. this mod is genuinely great. super user friendly, super simple, and it works. I know you have some other very cool projects happening, but I am super excited to see where this goes.
