Callout Response is a backup and response coordination plugin for LSPDFR built around making active scenes feel more believable, more controlled, and more dynamic.

The idea behind this mod is simple: when you are on a callout, backup should feel like an actual response system instead of just a one-button spawn tool. Callout Response gives you both manual and automatic ways to bring in help depending on the situation, while still letting you decide how much control you want over it. When you are handling an active callout, you can open the manual backup menu and request the type of response you need, whether that is standard patrol, SWAT, ambulance, or fire support. On top of that, Callout Response can also automatically dispatch backup based on the type and priority of the incident, helping scenes feel more natural without making everything overly chaotic.

The plugin is built to work with different player setups and supports multiple provider options, including Native LSPDFR, Policing Redefined, and Ultimate Backup. That means you can choose the provider setup that fits your game instead of being locked into one specific way of playing. Callout Response also includes an in-game configuration menu so you can adjust settings without constantly tabbing out to edit files by hand. Response timing, trigger distances, responder limits, notification behavior, and other options can be tuned to fit the kind of gameplay you want. If you like a more controlled and slower-paced patrol experience, you can set it up that way. If you want quicker, more aggressive support, you can do that too.

Another big focus of the mod is cutting down on annoying clutter. Notifications are kept cleaner and more readable, and the system is designed to avoid turning scenes into a wall of spam every time units are requested. The goal is to make the plugin feel like a natural part of patrol gameplay instead of something constantly shouting over everything else.

Priority Response also includes support for priority phrase XML matching, allowing callout text and related information to influence how automatic backup is handled.

Small Update!

What's New in Version 1.0.3.2

Released

CHANGELOG

This update focuses on release polish, provider stability, better callout matching, cleaner manual backup behavior, and more reliable staged response flow.

Added / Improved

  • Updated Callout Response documentation with a fully refreshed full-release ReadMe.

  • Added .NET Framework 4.8.1 compatibility direction for improved compatibility with updated provider mods.

  • Improved provider startup selection.

    • Fixed cases where Callout Response could fall back to Native LSPDFR on startup even when Policing Redefined or Ultimate Backup was selected.

    • Preferred provider detection is now more forgiving and should apply more reliably after loading.

  • Added configurable Local/State Patrol mix.

    • General patrol responses can use a configurable State Patrol percentage.

    • Pursuit responses can use a separate State Patrol percentage.

    • Default behavior remains balanced for general patrol and more state-heavy for pursuits.

  • Improved manual backup request behavior.

    • Local Patrol and State Patrol are separated more clearly.

    • The manual request type selector now dispatches directly when pressing Enter.

    • Removed the extra dispatch row to make the menu faster to use.

  • Improved pursuit backup targeting.

    • Pursuit backup can prefer the active pursuit suspect/vehicle location instead of defaulting to the player or original callout area.

  • Improved ResponseProfiles.xml matching.

    • Profile matching is now more forgiving.

    • Profiles can use broader/vague wording instead of requiring exact 1:1 callout names.

    • Matching supports broader token-style matching for callouts such as wanted suspects, fires, dead bodies, pursuits, and similar simple callout names.

  • Improved scene resolution fallback.

    • Manual backup should no longer fail with “scene not resolved yet” just because a callout does not expose a clean location.

    • If the callout location cannot be resolved, Callout Response can fall back to the player/current scene area.

  • Improved staged response acceptance behavior.

    • Automatic backup and staging prompts now wait until the player has actually accepted the callout.

    • Offered-but-not-accepted callouts should no longer trigger staged response prompts.

  • Improved Global Mimic Lights and AI Siren Cycle behavior.

    • Global responder behavior now targets valid backup/pursuit responder units instead of random ambient emergency vehicles.

    • Backup units should still use lights/sirens properly when appropriate.

    • Ambient police/emergency vehicles should no longer randomly activate just because the player is responding Code 3.

  • Continued polish for Prompt Release and Safety Release behavior.

  • Continued polish for staged response blips, prompt persistence, and service-unit release flow.

Fixes

  • Fixed provider selection being forced to Native on startup in some setups.

  • Fixed manual backup failing when the scene location was not resolved.

  • Fixed automatic backup/staging getting stuck when the callout location was unavailable.

  • Fixed profile matching being too strict for simple or vague callout names.

  • Fixed staged prompts appearing before the player accepted the callout.

  • Fixed manual backup menu requiring an extra dispatch row.

  • Fixed global light/siren sync affecting ambient emergency vehicles.

  • Fixed backup units not properly receiving light/siren behavior after backup-only filtering.

  • Fixed several release-facing documentation and wording issues.

Configuration Notes

  • Callout Response now expects .NET Framework 4.8.1.

  • Callout Response is intended to support up to 24 configured/requested backup units.

  • Values above 24 are unsupported and may cause loading or menu issues.

  • Prompt Release is best for players who want manual control over staged units.

  • Safety Release is best for players who want a more automatic flow while keeping service units safer.

  • State/Local Patrol mix can be adjusted through configuration.

  • Mimic Lights and AI Siren Cycle can be enabled or disabled through configuration.

Is there a way to change what vehicles respond. I have FBI showing up in a pursuit and they should not be. Be nice to be able to chose who and what vehicles respond

This is controlled through your DefaultRegions.xml and CustomRegions.xml from Ultimate Backup or Policing Redefined... not Callout response on its own. it also uses native backup if neither of those mods are available so that would be in Agency.xml
