Welcome to Combat Enhanced, a small plugin that adds a couple of useful features to your patrolday.

 

Combat Enhanced makes some changes to melee combat so that you don't always have to knock the suspect out to win the fight but also adds a few useful tools to long range combat.

  • Reworked Melee combat
  • -> Instead of having to rely on your taser you can now also go hand to hand without "killing" the suspect. If a suspect took enough punches he will now struggle and collapse before catching his breath again.
  • Arrest Suspects on the ground
  • -> If a suspect is laying on the ground (wether from being punched, tased, beanbagged or rammed from your vehicle) you will now have the option to get ontop the suspect and try to fight for an arrest. However the suspect will try to resist that.
  • Disarming shots
  • -> If you shoot a suspects weapon out of their hand (or make their hand unuseable) they will know drop their weapon and act accordingly. This also applies to them receiving thousands of volts from your taser.
  • Beanbag shotgun
  • -> A longer ranged alternative to your taser. The beanbag will knock a suspect down for a long time. However it is ineffective if said person is wearing bodyarmor.

  • Copy the contents of the Grand Theft Auto V folder into your main Grand Theft Auto directory (ex: .../steamapps/common/Grand Theft Auto V/)
  • -> (If installed correctly it should look like this: Grand Theft Auto V/plugins/LSPDFR/CombatEnhanced.dll)
  • Make sure to read the README file, especially if you are using STP!
     

Could contain: graphics

  • The beanbag shotgun is given automatically once you go on duty. If you are using StopThePed, make sure to disable the RealisticWeaponSystem, otherwise StopThePed will remove it. You will find your beanbag in your inventory (Pumpshotgun MK2).
  • To arrest a suspect on the ground, just go close to him. A prompt will appear to press the InteractionKey (default Y).

Inside the .ini file you will find the entry "ArrestKey". This has to be a number! You can find out the meaning of each number and their corresponding keys via this link.

  • Added support for PolicingRedefined
  • -> There currently is a bug in PolicingRefedined that doesn't allow the Ped to be arrest properly via code. I added a workaround but that makes the Ped un-arrestable. Once the bug is patched I will make it work as expected

  • Added ability to disarm Ped's with well placed shots
  • -> If you are shooting the suspects gun/hand or if you tase them, they will now loose their weapon. Depending on the restiance percentage set inside the ini file, they will either give up, try fleeing or will just continue fighting you.
  • Added option to disable the changes applied to the melee combat
  • Added option to disable the disarming-shots system

  • Increased duration of the ground arrest window.
  • -> Previously, the ped had to be laying flat on the ground to allow for the ground arrest. Most of the time he already got up before you had the chance to even press the key. This should make it much more fair to hit it properly.

Bugfixes:

  • Previously when shooting a ped with the beanbag, all shots afterwards would always land on that ped no matter where you aimed. This has been fixed.
  • Peds will no longer stand idle until StopThePed kicks in after ground arrest. They will now properly play the cuffed animation while waiting
  • Player weapons will now be properly hidden while in the arrest animation
  • Fixed bug that made it possible to arrest animals via ground arrest

Sounds really nice, but if every suspect gonna resist while on ground it'll become to kind of frustration and non realistic behavior. Hope there will be chance of resisting value in .ini file which will make patrols more variable.

A really nice concept and nice execution also!, there's a thing that would be nice to be able to modify, and that's the key for when the suspect is resisting, it's quite annoying trying to arrest someone close to a vehicle, the character runs to the car immediately.

but apart from that, really nice plugin to give a new taste to the now quite old easy arrests

Also, there's no key defined to press when fighting the person resisting on the ground. Does anyone know what it is?

Check the .ini file for the ArrestKey. How to set it up is described in the included README

You can ignore that, the FileChecker was accidently left from the LSPDFR Expanded mod and not for this one

I did read it, and I changed the key (157 - should be number 1 on keyboard) but it doesn't seem to work. Recomendations?

Just try another one, if the "Continously press ..) medsage shows an actual button you"ll know if it worked properly

You're right, just tried it. Maybe it doesn't like 3 integer numbers? The message didn't actually show a button with my edited version. I changed it to 46 (left d-pad) and it worked + showed "G" and the keyboard button.

how to disable beanbag, better combat feature? (i need only ground arrest bcs sometimes suspect freezing when i hold E with lspdfr arrest and he started to dance💃)(can you upload arrest feature only version?😘)

This plugin seems like it was released too early, I can't ground arrest anyone in pursuits since it just crashes the game and they don't even stay on the ground. In addition to this peds that are ground arrested don't even appear as arrested to stop the ped since arrested targets turn red on the minimap but the ground arrest feature doesn't do that so instead you need to use the default takedown on a ped in order to set them as arrested anyways.  Its not a bad idea or plugin its just that to me it seems like there are a lot of unpatched bugs for a first release.

My plugin does not care wether they are in a chase or not. It only checks if a person is on the ground. If any other plugin overrides animation or does their own chasehandling, theres nothing I can do about it 🤷🏽‍♀️

Try recoding the arrest script to hook into the lspdfr api so that it can detect when a target is getting arrested. I remember that there was a script for a oc spray can that would hook into the api so during pursuits it would register the spray as a takedown, the plugin is outdated now but maybe you could look at the code and try to attach to the api. Also if possible, you should try setting it so that it automatically sets a target as arrested since not doing that means that I have to use takedown on them to set them as arrested so I can do things like call transport or other things. It might even fix the bug of lspdfr crashing since it detects that the suspect is arrested.

Do you think we can get a video demo of this modification? I have a private mod that I bought a few months ago that is just like this, containing a few custom arrest animations and other combat-enhancing tweaks but it is very buggy. I will most definitely use this but I really would like to see a video demonstration. Nevertheless, keep up the amazing work mate!

Yeah, getting crashes during pursuits and peds not staying down,warping back on their feet. Having lspdfr/stp recognise arrests would be ideal.

Crashing and teleporting around when arresting a ped in a chase should be fixed now.

 

For STP: The developer of that plugin has not included an option for other developers to set a person as arrested. I have to use a workaround just to get the ped recognized as arrested. It should now be recognized 100% of the time. The suspect will however appear as a yellow marker instead of a red marker, everything else should still handle as a normal arrested person

Great plugin but can you add a option for disable the beanbag shotgun. I aleadry use a beanbag shotgun as a addon weapon.

Also some of my units in Ultimate backup use PumpshotgunMK2.
