Now before downloading, this is very WIP. This is my first GTA V mod let a lone sound mod I've ever created for this game. After watching LIVE PD and listening to the explorers accelerate constantly I thought I'd try and create a sound mod specifically for the POLICE3 slot. I took the audio from a recording I have from one of my works 2013 FPIU's. I know I've seen some people ask for this so I tried my best to take the time to create this mod. Being in the military with very few time to mess around with this, this is what I have come up with. PLEASE help guide this sound mod into the right direction for anybody who would enjoy this, feedback is very much welcomed. Thank you. A video showcasing the sound will come later.

NOTES:

-First .RAR (explorer sound mod) is the files originally updated just louder. Raw acceleration sounds.

-Second .RAR (FPIU sound) is the sound files modified to be granular in game. 

 

BUGS: Any new bugs found and reported will be updated here.

  • Howling noise in background for most recent update (V.1.0.3)
  • Background noise is audible when accelerating. Still looking for a way to improve that.

-Acceleration sound basically completely re-done thanks to Lieutenant Dan

-Exhaust acceleration smoothed out a little bit

 

*Acceleration sound re-done due to the distortion caused with the original acceleration file. Increasing the volume on original seemed to distort the sound in game regardless of how little or lot you messed with it. Thank you again Lieutenant Dan for helping with this.

-Re worked engine acceleration noise...again

-Amplified and tuned noise to be as realistic as possible (Took into consideration for 3rd person driving and first)

*BUG* Minor howling sound while flooring it.  If anybody would happen to know how to fix that please PM me.

So which one is the new one? You have an FPIU sound zip and an Explorer sound zip

 

EDIT: Sorry you clarified that at the bottom in NOTES. Make that bold or something ;) Cheers!

    I'm following the development of this mod because their are not many good vehicle sound mod overhauls. The only other one I can think of worth mentioning is the Crown Vic. Otherwise there really isn't any other. So keep up the good work. I drive an 2016 Ford Explorer in real life so I'm gonna be critical! ;) kidding. Merry Christmas and thanks for your hard work in getting this dialed in.

    Do you really? The CVPI is pretty damn good imo. I may not be an expert but I’m definitely trying to put as much as I can into this sound mod with the time I have. If you do drive a 2016, that could honestly help me a lot😅

    That’s awesome to hear. It’s a pain to make a good FPIU sound with the way Rockstar created their sounds. But we can get close. I may use you for some start up and exhaust sounds if you’d be willing!

    I don't have any audio recording equipment worth a damn unless you count a cell phone, so I can't provide you any actual audio clips. I can provide you feedback though.

    How would I able to add this to an explorer if it was added as an "addon" vehicle for ex. "sheriff21"?

    Yup just change the audionamehash in the vehicle.meta file to this - <audioNameHash>police3</audioNameHash>

    Re extract it and look in the folder that extracts out of it. It SHOULD be in there. I just checked

    its pretty good not 100% but its getting there! Very glad someone made this! Would love to see some more updates making it even better!

    Still working on it, been slow to update it because of how busy work has been but I haven’t stopped on it no worries. Hard to get it to sound exactly like the actual engine with the restrictions the game has.

    Exactly. I've been extremely busy lately so it's been a little hard to get any work done on it. Its not actual recording background noise, its actually something with the file I have just yet to find it. :/
