Ford Explorer sound mod 1.0.3

(0 reviews)

1 Screenshot

Now before downloading, this is very WIP. This is my first GTA V mod let a lone sound mod I've ever created for this game. After watching LIVE PD and listening to the explorers accelerate constantly I thought I'd try and create a sound mod specifically for the POLICE3 slot. I took the audio from a recording I have from one of my works 2013 FPIU's. I know I've seen some people ask for this so I tried my best to take the time to create this mod. Being in the military with very few time to mess around with this, this is what I have come up with. PLEASE help guide this sound mod into the right direction for anybody who would enjoy this, feedback is very much welcomed. Thank you. A video showcasing the sound will come later.

Thank you Lime Law for providing a video showcasing the sound!

Thanks to Xander6478 for another video!

NOTES:

-First .RAR (explorer sound mod) is the files originally updated just louder. Raw acceleration sounds.

-Second .RAR (FPIU sound) is the sound files modified to be granular in game.

BUGS: Any new bugs found and reported will be updated here.

  • Howling noise in background for most recent update (V.1.0.3)
  • Background noise is audible when accelerating. Still looking for a way to improve that.

What's New in Version 1.0.3

Released

CHANGELOG
12/24/2017 V1.0.1
-Improved quality of engine acceleration
-Changed the exhaust acceleration sound as well
-Increased volume on both exhaust and engine accelerations
-Engine and Exhaust acceleration are now "granular"

CHANGELOG

12/25/2017 V1.0.2 MERRY CHRISTMAS

-Acceleration sound basically completely re-done thanks to Lieutenant Dan

-Exhaust acceleration smoothed out a little bit

*Acceleration sound re-done due to the distortion caused with the original acceleration file. Increasing the volume on original seemed to distort the sound in game regardless of how little or lot you messed with it. Thank you again Lieutenant Dan for helping with this.

CHANGELOG

12/26/2017 V1.0.3

Hopefully a final step in the right direction

-Re worked engine acceleration noise...again

-Amplified and tuned noise to be as realistic as possible (Took into consideration for 3rd person driving and first)

*BUG* Minor howling sound while flooring it.  If anybody would happen to know how to fix that please PM me.

sounds pretty spot on let me try it ingame and i'll rate it afterwards

Thank you! The problem I’ve ran into isn’t how the game executed the sound. It doesn’t sound like it does listening to it while not in game. That’s the problem I can’t seem to fix .

can you include a short video showcasing it?

Of course. Just gotta find time today to make one. But rest assured there will be one.

To remove the background noise, try playing around with the Equalization feature in Audacity. Lowering 2000-6000 Hz frequencies would be ideal, as the noise is high pitched.

You think? Might have to mess around with that. Thank you! I’ll let you know how it goes.

I've been using it for a while now and I love it. I'm sure I can do this myself but making it a bit louder would be great for me. It's a 10/10 from me definitely.

Awesome man! I appreciate that. I’m experimenting with it a little to get it a little louder without having GTA v distort it. Also trying to get it a little crisper.

Threw this in my game, and if you make it louder, it would be perfect. Great work on it so far!

Thanks man. It’s a little tricky messing around with the sound. If I get it too loud GTA V distorts the sound.  But I’ll figure it out.

Actually have been messing around with that in audacity, unfortunately right now if the volume is amped up a little, GTA messes with it in game and it sounds horrible. Doing some experiments on that today haha.

You know it. Once I iron out problems with this I’ll start on an FPIS.

Could you also do one for the charger, that would be awesome.

From what I know I think there actually is a charger sound. But whenever I used it, it sounded a little weird. I can definitely do that though.

They Did it Server side, you go in Vehicles.Meta and go to charger model, and change AudioNameHarsh to Windsor2

Just tried out the update and I don't know if it's just me but there's something off with the engine acceleration sound file other than that it's better and louder.

when it gets to about the 4-5 second mark it just gets distorted. I think I can see where you were coming from when you said you had troubles making the sounds louder.
