Ambient Emergency Response - Customization 2.0.1

(18 reviews)

1 Screenshot

This mod creates random emergency vehicle responses that will come pass the player. The player should shut down any major intersection to let the emergency vehicles pass by.

Make sure to put AmbientEmergencyResponse.dll and AmbientEmergencyResponse.ini into \Plugins\LSPDFR folder.

Take a look at the INI at least once to make sure you are satisfied with the settings.

You can enter cheat-code "ambientresponse" to force an ambient response.

Nice, I will test it soon. But do you think you can make it a standalone RPH plugin, and not integrated with LSPDFR?

Yes.

Okay thanks. Also do you think you can remove the notification and sound each time a response is created? Adds the realism and ambience if it is removed I think. Thanks.

Just a thought, how about both?  One version as LSPDFR plugin, another RPH plugin.  I say this because for folks such as myself, we are still on older versions of Rage/GTA.  If it's limited to just Rage 0.57, we're SOL.

How often though? If it is not often I'd love this mod.

I agree with this. Also is there a way to turn off police responses and just have fire and EMS?

Possibly will be added to INI.

Yes, I think whilst on duty there should be no police responses but whilst off duty there can be, an ini option sounds best. Also, could you lower the amount of police cars responding at once. Normally having 4 units and 2 bikes responding is very uncommon, it should be maybe one or two cop cars. For ambulances it should be one ambulance and for fire it should one or two trucks. Obviously having more on occasion is fine.

It creates random number of units per response.

Police: 2-5 units

Fire/Rescue: 2-3 units

FBI: 2-3 units

I didn't want to put single unit response as the game already creates those occasionally.

Hmm yes true, but the game only creates them around hospitals, police stations of fire stations and nowhere else. I still think up to 5 units is too many, especially as being so rare in real life.

I guess it depends on where you patrol. 5 units for the city doesn't seem that bad but when you're patrolling the county 5 units seems like a lot.  I would like an option to turn off police responses because I personally don't like the idea of 5 police units blowing past you lights and sirens and having no idea whats going on.

Yes exactly, there should be an option in the ini because when patrolling in LSPDFR, you should know if there's a call in your area. Anyway, were I live (the UK), even London you would not get 5 units all following each other to a call, possibly separately from different directions but never one behind another.

Hey man, great mod. It really makes Gta 5 more immersive.  Though I have several questions. Does this work with add-on vehicles? Also, so the vehicle catagories can overlap ( as seen in the video)? Like apart from several of the same type responding (several fire trucks, police responding etc.) can you have like the police escorting an ambulance/firetruck or all three of them responding together ( maybe even the FIB and the police as escort or the FIB escorting an ambulance or a firetruck for whatever reason)? Lastly, may I suggest you add something like this near the military base ( like a military convoy with flashing/warning lights if whichever vehicles chosen have any and possibly the police, FIB or Merryweather as an additional escort to spawn randomly alongside them or not).

Sometimes, police do respond with ambulance.

Interesting for sure.

Would be really good though if they were actually responding to some small issue created nearby.

Car accident for fire/ems

Downed pedestrian for just ems

small fire for just fire

Man with a knife/gun for police

Small things that the player could jump into to assist, but are not overly complicated for the AI to "handle" on their own.

That would be nice, the creator should code it :teehee:.

But on a serious note, I coded it for simplicity. So creating a small incident for the units to respond to will greatly increase the programming I would have to complete. As I would have to basically control the peds and vehicles for the whole duration that the units are active. And honestly, I'd just rather not get into it.
