BasicCruiseControl - Finally keep to speed restrictions without problems! 3.0

[Contact me for any bugs of feature requests! As I had to transfer my entire code to Scripthook V there might be some tiny bugs that I will update in the next week ^^]

Hey everyone,

I managed to find my files for this script on my old PC!

I updated BasicCruiseControl to work again with the newer versions of Scripthook!

So: Lots of you want to keep it real, especially when it comes to speeds when on patrol in LSPDFR. And most of you know how hard and annoying that can be! The problem is, that this is pretty hard and can get annoying after a certain amount of time. That can be a big minus to "realistic" patrols, because you as a cop should absolutely stick to the speed limit. This plugin adds a basic cruise control/speed limiter/what ever you want to call it to the game that lets you select a speed your vehicle will never exceed. You can set the CC to hold (pause working) while you have your emergency lights on in the config file!

Installation

!! THIS IS A SCRIPTHOOK V .NET SCRIPT !!

1. Download Scripthook V from http://www.dev-c.com/gtav/scripthookv/ and follow the readme in it's RAR archive!

2. Download Community Scripthook V .NET from https://de.gta5-mods.com/tools/scripthookv-net and copy all the files to your GTA V main directory

3. (If you don't have it already) create a folder called "scripts" in your GTA V main directory

4. Drag BCC.dll and BCC.ini into that folder

Voilá!

Quick troubleshooting:

If you have vehicles spawning/weird things happening while using the PageUp and PageDown keys, that is most likely due to a trainer (like SimpleTrainer). Make sure to disable those keybindings in the trainers ini!

Thanks...

...to all the guys on the Rage & LSPDFR Discord who are there to help whenever they can :3

Feel free to give me feedback and request features!

Have fun with that little aid for your patrols 🙂

That's a weird one, very few people run into this, it must have something to do with your specific install/computer. Not saying you did something wrong! Clearly for some people there is some kind of conflict there... I'll try to work it out

Is there an issue with Scripthook?

No but every plugin is working with Rage

That's a very broad statement, which is also false. Depends on whether things get updated and is maintained, I can mention a lot of Rage plugins that definitely don't work 😉

This works fine with ScriptHookV (Besides the issue reported that the notifications pops up, but nothing is being applied to the vehicle). I can understand your wish for a Rage version, as you'd be able to avoid waiting for ScriptHookV updates when GTA V updates, but converting this to be working straight up with Rage, I believe that wouldn't be super easy.

I'm not sure what im doing wrong, i have other scripts in my scripts folder and they work fine, but with this only a notification pops up, but other than that it doesn't work 😞 any idea?

You are not doing anything wrong, he is aware of this issue already, I spoke with him yesterday and explained the situation. 🙂

Awesome! Hope you enjoy it ^^ And to everyone reading this: I develop my plugins for the newest versions of Scripthook, Rage and LSPDFR. So the first thing to check, with any plugin from anybody, is if all these things are up to date. You won't believe how many errors this can easily solve 🙂

This still isn't working for me. The notification pops up saying cruise control is activated but I'm still capable of flying down Grapeseed Main St at 80mph in a 35. How do I go about fixing this issue?

A few people have that problem, I'm currently trying to find out what is causing the issue. Might be something missing on your installation, might be something I can fix with an update. I'll post here as soon as I find something out

Just a update for you here,

In conjunction with another issue, I have reformatted my machine completely.

Installed GTA V.

Installed SHV, SHVDN and dependencies.

Installed BCC

Ran on full vanilla GTA V, no further mods/scripts than BCC.

Still no joy. So I doubt it has anything to do with our systems to be honest, considering this was a FULL CLEAN install of everything.

Hope this helps a bit! 🙂

not working for me i got scripts installed but nothing

This might have been answered but does the cruise control, when activated, shut off when the brake is applied?

So same thing here install and it seems to be working I get the notification that its on but does not effect my speed at all. This script is awesome and so simple please please get this working. Just all around a great mod!

This mod works exactly as described but the notification doesn't leave the top left my screen. This gets really annoying when a callout uses that space to give directions. Is there a way to set how long the notification appears for?

Doesnt work. I start speeding up and then it says it's braking.

I've found that it'll work for the regular police files (like police, police2, police3, etc) but it doesn't work with FBI or Sheriff vehicles. Any solutions? I checked the INI file to see if there was a configuration I've missed but I can't seem to find anything.

Hey man, great mod, was wondering though, anyway to only have the speed showing in green when on without the text. just to minimize the amount of stuff on screen.

cheers.

does this work like an adaptive cc, like when im on a street, the speed limit is 35, but when i turn onto another and the speed limit is 55, will it automatically speed up to 55, and then slow back down when i get on to another street? ive been looking for that mod, you can turn it off and on, but you can just hold the W and itll do it

Mine is just a basic thing to make life a bit easier ^^ Maybe some people don't want autopilot but just something to stick to a certain speed without having to spam "W" all the time!

Couldn't have said that any better because I for sure don't want no autopilot.... but to maintain a basic set speed while driving a lane running radar

@ThruZZd

I followed the installation instructions and had up-to-date versions of Scripthook V and Community Scripthook V .net. So unless something else is not stated, it is most likely broken.
