Emergency Lighting System 1.05

(234 reviews)

3 Screenshots

Emergency Lighting System V brings one of the most popular modifications ever created for a GTA title (ELS-IV) to Grand Theft Auto V. ELS-V will add a whole new dimension to  your patrols. With a fresh look and many more features than its predecessor, it's also sure to brighten up your game and satisfy the emergency lighting enthusiast in anyone.

DESCRIPTION
− ELS provides an alternate and incredibly in-depth way of controlling emergency vehicle lights and sounds.
− ELS requires vehicle models specifically designed to make use of its features.
− ELS includes over 200 unique lighting patterns scattered across 4 light groups and lighting formats.

NOTES
Please consult the ELS USER GUIDE and other provided documentation prior to using ELS.

− As of V1.00 ELS is not compatible with any form of multiplayer.
− A visual enhancement mod is recommended to improve the appearance of ELS lights in game.

BASIC INSTALLATION
− A GTAV ScriptHook must be installed for any .asi modification to work. The original may be found HERE.
− Using script modifications in GTA Online can result in a temporary or permanent ban from the service.

− 1. Place ELS.asi, ELS.ini, the ELS folder, and  AdvancedHookV.dll inside your main GTA V game directory.
− 2. Download and install (a) pro-ELS vehicle model(s).
− 3. Start your game.

CREDITS
− ELS is coded by Lt.Caine.

− AdvancedHookV and vehicle damage feature coded by LMS.
− ELS-V testing team (alphabetical order): Albo1125, BxBugs123, GravelRoadCop, PoliceWag, and Prophet.

What's New in Version 1.05

Released

  • Removed auto deletion of discarded ELS vehicles to prevent crashes when using certain LSPDFR plugins.
  • Removed ELS manipulation of AI vehicles as persistent/not persistent for same reason.
  • Removed strobe corona flash sounds (while retaining sound effects for halogen patterns).
  • Toggling the ELS information panel will now reload everything in the ELS.ini.
  • Fixed error in ELS User Guide that incorrectly associated SCNL with extra_11 and TKDL with extra_12 (the opposite is true).
  • Updated ELS User Guide to reflect new changes.
  • ELS.ini change: Added "AllowController" option to CONTROL section to allow enabling/disabling controller input for ELS.
  • ELS.ini change: Added "TogKeysLock" option to CONTROL section to allow changing ELS key lock button.

Please download the AdvancedHookV fix if you are using game build 3258.

What would happen if I installed ELS and kept the vanilla vehicles?

It would not work.

But, would it crash the game? Or would the lights simply do weird stuff?

I ask this because I'd like to install some ELS models but not to replace all the cars.

I think you can disable ELS for some models, it was a while ago I played around with it. Review the manual, it contains a lot of information.

Wondering if anyone can help, just updated to 4.1 and els doesn't seem to work, not sure if i have the right files downloaded.

In asiloader.log this is found:

LOADER: Loading *.asi plugins
ASI: Loading "G:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V\ELS.asi"
     "ELS.asi" failed to load

For some reasons, all my headlights on my downloaded vehicles are very dim. Anyone know where I can fix this?  The ELS seems fine but the headlights are just not bright like they used to be.

I'll give it shot. I saw this video but thought it was strictly for the ELS lights but not the headlights.

How do I go about speeding up the flash patterns, they are a little slow for me and I can't find out where in the XML to do it

While in the game, you have to press CNTL + P to bring up the ELS panel. Using the O, U, or I keys, you can adjust the flash patterns and may find one that best suits you.

It will be in the XML file that corresponds the vehicle you're using. Every vehicle has its own XML file.

Not how to change the flash patterns but how to make those flash patterns flash at different speeds

Well techicaly yea, but i think you could find a line for headlights too, you dont have to be a programmer to do it 🙂

I'm unaware how to change the speeds. Not sure if that's even possible within the XML file. The speed of the flashing is probably something that is hard coded into the model itself.

But perhaps others can steer me correct, if that's not accurate.

Thesre is some way to do it, i've seen videos of LSPDFR with the light patterns at fast speeds but can't get responses of how to do it. I've also played around with the INI and still haven't found out the magic spot where to change it

NOTE TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE DOWNLOADED THIS PLUGIN AFTER LSPDFR 0.4.1 WAS RELEASED: IF YOUR ELS PLUGIN IS NOT WORKING AFTER INSTALLING ALL REQUIRED FILES, MY SUGGESTION IS, DON'T BOTHER WITH IT TILL LT.CAINE DECIDES TO UPDATE THIS. SO, MY OTHER SUGGESTION IS THIS; JUST USE NON-ELS VEHICLES AS A SPARE TILL LIKE I SAID WHEN HE DECIDES TO UPDATE THIS PLUGIN. Can i get this pinned?

I am having problem with light emissions on the ground. In normal gameplay everything works flawlessly, but upon using footage in R* Editor, there are only light bars on, nothing on the ground. It's very blunt that way and very disappointing...

With non ELS vehicles everything works how it should.

Am I doing something wrong here? Using NVR, ELS and EVE (Extended Video Export). Everything latest versions.

Thank you for all reactions...
