Siren Mastery

SUPPORT IS NO LONGER OFFERED - FEEL FREE TO HELP UPDATE THE CODE

Siren Mastery is now open source. https://github.com/Albo1125/SirenMastery

Siren Mastery is a script modification that allows you to master your siren tones. Toggle to your secondary siren at the press of a key/button, silence your siren using any key/button you like and even control exactly which 'secondary' siren plays! You can be up and running with Siren Mastery within 5 minutes (installation tutorial click HERE).

Requirements - some of these are included (credits go to their appropriate authors):

  • Albo1125.Common 6.6.4.0 or higher (included)
  • RAGEPluginHook 0.51 or higher (not included)
  • NAudio 1.8.0.0 (included)
  • A legal copy of GTA V (version 1.0.1011.1 or above).

There is also a download to free up unneeded controller bindings so they can be used for Siren Mastery. Get it here.

You can find some new, customised UIs for Siren Mastery in the spoiler below:

Summary of current features (please check documentation carefully too):

  • Change the Siren Toggle key/button and assign it an optional modifier key/button.
  • Change the 'lights only' toggle key/button and assign it an optional modifier key/button.
    • This works even if your siren is off so you can control whether your siren should play before turning your lights on.
  • New 'Toggle Secondary Siren' key/button with an optional modifier key/button.
    • This allows you to switch to secondary sirens without having to hold down a key/button.
  • New 'Toggle Bullhorn' key/button with an optional modifier key/button.
    • This allows you to keep sounding your bullhorn without having to hold down a key/button.
    • Works simultaneously with sirens.
  • New 'Next Siren' key/button that cycles to the next siren.
    • Can optionally include the Off state as a cycle stage.
  • Your siren now stays on when you leave your vehicle and you don't mute it.
    • This can be disabled from the GeneralConfig file.
  • Determine the siren tone that should be playing.
    • You are able to select which siren tone to play, including the ability to differentiate between secondary sirens.
  • Additional Siren Modes
    • Dual Siren Mode.
    • Manual Siren Mode.
  • Additional customisable sirens per vehicle model.
    • Allows you to have up to TEN total sirens per vehicle model.
  • Fully Functional and Customisable UI.
    • Feel free to create and release your own custom UI files.
    • The size and position of the UI can be customised via the UIConfig file.
  • Customisable Siren Switching Tones (like Siren Switch Honker).
  • Sirens are fully customisable per vehicle model via an XML file.
  • All keybindings are customisable and fully customisable controller support is included.
  • The vehicles.awc size and length limits are effectively removed while using Siren Mastery, allowing for greater siren variety.
  • British Users: You can now have British Siren Switch/Toggle sounds (in other words, horns!). Simply replace the relevant files in the Plugins/SirenMastery folder with the ones included in Siren Switch Honker's download.

Support is no longer offered - what to do if you encounter a bug or have problems:

  1. Watch the installation video for my modifications here.
  2. Use this tool: http://www.lcpdfr.com/files/file/9755-lspdfr-troubleshooter-by-albo1125/
  3. Read the documentation file if you're having trouble getting a specific feature to work.
  4. Suggestions can be made here.
  5. If all else fails: Please leave a comment (not a review). Include your RAGEPluginHook.log file, located in your Grand Theft Auto V folder. Also, please provide an accurate description of what happened.

Please do not reupload or redistribute this without my permission, rather link back to this original page. Thank you.

@Coreycss21 Try looking here: GTAV\x64\audio\sfx\RESIDENT.rpf  instead of here: GTAV\(mods)\x64\audio\sfx\RESIDENT.rpf for the vehicles.awc file. If you haven't done a lot of modding, the files will most likely not be in the mod folder.

If someone could help that would mean alot. I recently re downloaded LSPDFR and all of my mods. I downloaded this mod and it tells me i am missing gtav/plugins/sirenmastery/vehicles and to download it from the siren mastery download. I dont see any folder in the download that it is talking about. Also when i get in vehicles it does not bring up the UI or anything.

I do have the GTAV\x64\audio\sfx\RESIDENT.rpf   folder but once I use OpenIV the file doesn't show up in the program but if i just go to my file folder I can see it.

@Coreycss21 Can you launch OpenIV and get as far as you can and then take a screenshot and post it here? The more information you can provide, the quicker we can help.

Hello great mod but when my ELS lights are full on with 3 clicks of J the sirens automatically come on? I have no J button anywhere in the general config for siren mastery so not sure why it's running the siren from there.

@icallhertaco11 Check the KeyboardConfig.ini in GTA V\plugins\SirenMastery\Config. J is the default key for next siren.

//Default: NextSirenKey=J
NextSirenKey=J

I have both of those set to None. but J still activates the siren on the third press.

I wonder if ELS is interfering somehow...can you try changing the J key in ELS to something else? If I set my NextSirenKey=J to NextSirenKey=None for SirenMastery, it doesn't start the siren. I don't have ELS though.

Im not sure the key numbers to change it. Itr says Toggle Light stage is key 74. But on charts I search on the web 74 is in the number pad not J.

Download the ELS mod again. Unzip it and look in the Documentation folder for a file called Default Controls (ELS-V). That file contains the up to date chart.

Alternatively, since this is just a quick test, set it to 96 (Numpad 0).

Are you silencing your sirens before you exit your vehicle? If you don't, they will turn back on when you re-enter. Also, if you perform a traffic stop, the siren will turn back on if you are code 4 when you re-enter your vehicle.

I usually always cut the siren when I step out unless it's leading to a foot chase in which they will keep going until I turn them off. But even on like an unknown disturbance call I kill the siren before stepping out and then when im done and get back in the sirens start.

Quick question. My AI police vehicles sirens will not work. I'm guessing it's from changing all the ELS xml's under sounds for the default sirens to false. Is there any way I can get the AI's to use the sirens I have or is that not an option?

Hi all (well mainly @Albo1125),

I had crashes with this mod everytime when I enter a vehicle - namely a System.ArgumentNullException error. I almost didn't use any addon siren mods - I believe I reverted everything correctly. I tried:

  • Reinstalled, with the siren setup shipped with the ZIP file. Nope.
  • Copy-and-pasted one of the VehicleSirenSetup.xml examples and edited all the file names to default ones listed on the documentation. Nope.
  • Removed VehicleSirenSetup.xml so the plugin could generate one itself. Nope.
  • Ran the troubleshooter. I quite like it but nothing's been reported wrong.

Here are some supplementary files: "SirenMastery" folder"generated" XML and RPH log up until the crash. I'm using the open-beta-thingy version (1.4.3.1) (from this Youtube link).

So what likely is the problem? I presume it's the XML file I've misconfigured but I've ran out of ideas.

Thanks in advance.

@icallhertaco11Did you fix this ? I'm having the same problem. It's so quite in the game :)

I am attaching my keyboardConfig file.  All I want is J to turn on my ELS lights, sirens to be toggled with 1-4, and my air horn using Y.   That is it, but your siren mod seems to have a mind of its own and just does whatever it wants.  What am I doing wrong?

Now here is what is really happening with this current config ini file that I attached and you will see it doesn't match up to what I have entered in.  Tapping J to turn on ELS lights makes siren blips and then on code 3 lighting stage for ELS the siren ALWAYS activates automatically.  How in the heck can I make it so the siren doesn't come on automatically when ELS is in lighting stage 3?

Also, when hitting Y, the horn doesn't work or do anything.  I finally got the sirens to align with 1-4.

So here is what I need and feel free to download my config file and fix it for me if you can, or just tell me what I need to input.

1. How to make the siren not come on automatically for ELS stage 3?

2. How do I turn off the siren blips when turning on ELS lights which is "J" for ELS?  It would seem the siren mod is hard coded for J and stuck there even if assigned to "None".

3. How to get the airhorn to be key "Y"?

Check out my config file to see what I currently have.  Why does it always seem my keys in the ini file are not responsive.  G and Y are assigned and do nothing and keys that I don't have typed in seem to do things.  J should have nothing to do with the siren since I don't have it for any option and yet it controls the siren and does the siren blips.  I also have manual siren set to None and yet "O" still controls it.  Also, trying to change my forced dual siren key to LCtrl does nothing and LShift still works.  I feel like I am not even editing the right file, but I have checked many times and I am.  What the heck is going on?  Thank you.

@Spitfire7

Your config file is slightly different then mine, so I'm assuming that you haven't updated SirenMasterY? Is that correct? Also check to see if your ELS is updated to v1.05.

  1. When you start your duty, after enabling LSTG3, I believe the standard setting is that the sirens turn on. What I do is at the beginning of my shift I press the ToggleSirenSoundKey and the siren is put in stand-by mode. Then if you activate LSTG3, you shouldn't have to hear a siren.

The ToggleSirenSoundKey is the button I use to turn on and of my sirens.

  2. I love this mod, better then the siren system of ELS and what I did to make ELS fully compatible with sirenmastery is to remove all of the siren keybindings in ELS. I have attached my ELS.ini.  After that I changed the keybindings in sirenmastery to my own liking.

  3. For the airhorn key, what you can do is to configure the VehicleSirenSetup. Set airhorn as "Horn" and if you have rumblers and hilo's as "ForcedOnly". Ifyou set your rumblers and hilo's to horn. The key used for horns will sound that as well.

            <Siren4 SirenType="Horn">FSHorn</Siren4>
            <Siren5 SirenType="ForcedOnly">FSHiLo</Siren5>

Let me know if this works out and if you need further support.
