[ELS] Los Santos PD Mega-Pack (LAPD)

Build 210901-134E4a(MD)

This is the 2024 remaster of my most popular pack, including 21 vehicles based on the Los Angeles Police Department in California. I've tried my best to make the pack as accurate as possible, with the resources I have available. Unfortunately, there are still some things I couldn't get quite right, including interior setup, certain aspects of lighting patterns, and various equipment. The vehicles included in this pack are listed below.

Vehicles included:

  • fbi: 2018 Dodge Charger PPV, unmarked
  • fbi2: 2014 Dodge Charger PPV, unmarked
  • police: 2011 Ford Crown Victoria PI, traffic division 24
  • police1: 2011 Ford Crown Victoria PI, slicktop
  • police12: 2011 Ford Crown Victoria PI, K-9 unit
  • police2: 2014 Dodge Charger PPV
  • police21: 2018 Dodge Charger PPV, fictional
  • police22: 2010 Dodge Charger PPV, slicktop
  • police23: 2010 Dodge Charger PPV
  • police3: 2016 Ford PI Sedan
  • police31: 2016 Ford PI Sedan, slicktop
  • police4: 2011 Ford Crown Victoria PI, Standard Appearance Package, detective unit
  • police41: 2002 Ford Crown Victoria PI, slicktop, all-white "polar bear" livery, fictional
  • lapdpolice5: 2016 Ford PI Utility
  • police51: 2014 Ford PI Utility
  • police52: 2020 Ford PI Utility
  • police6: 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV
  • police61: 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV
  • police7: 2016 Chevrolet Impala LPV
  • police8: 2013 Ford Expedition SSV, fictional
  • police9: 2020 Ford Police Responder Hybrid Sedan, fictional

Caveats

Open Caveats

  • On lower-end systems, large YTD sizes and 4K liveries may crash the game or result in temporary texture loss issues. Workaround: Resize the liveries to 2K.
  • The 2020 Ford Police Responder Hybrid Sedan (police9) does not have an openable trunk/hood. Workaround: None.
  • The 2020 Ford Police Responder Hybrid Sedan (police9) and 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Utility (police52) have high polygon counts and large model sizes. This may result in temporary texture loss issues or degraded performance. Workaround: Do not spawn the vehicles or spawn only limited quantities. Do not allow these vehicles to spawn in traffic or through plugins.
  • The 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe PPV (police61) has large texture sizes. This may result in temporary texture loss issues. Workaround: Do not spawn the vehicle or spawn only limited quantities. Do not allow this vehicle to spawn in traffic or through plugins.
  • Character hands are not placed on the steering wheel on the 2014 Ford Police Interceptor Utility (police51). Workaround: None.
  • The handling lines for all Impala LPV/PPV and FPRHS models do not accurately reflect their real-life counterparts, notably with suspension and turning behavior. Workaround: None.
  • The grille and headlight LEDs on the 2016 slicktop FPIS (police31) erroneously function as steady-burn lights at stage 2. Workaround: None.
  • The FS Valor lightbars are mounted incorrectly. They are positioned too close to the roof of the vehicles. Workaround: None.

Resolved Caveats

Caveats Resolved in Release 210901-134E4a(MD)

  • The 2011 slicktop CVPI (police1) incorrectly used the division 24 livery.

Caveats Resolved in Release 210901-134E4(MD)

  • The 2020 Tahoe (police61) has glitched dials.

Caveats Resolved in Release 210901-0324E4(ED)

  • The 2020 Tahoe (police61) had no window tint, and part of the reflective livery was cut off.

Caveats Resolved in Release 210901-0319E4(MD)

  • The 2011 CVPI (police) would disappear at unrealistically close distances.

Caveats Resolved in Release 210901-0317E4(ED)

  • Bullets would not pass through the 2014 Tahoe (police6) due to invalid collision parameters.
  • The 2010 Chargers were missing additional white body paint.
  • Due to Rockstar adding its own police5 model, the 2016 FPIU would not spawn correctly.

Hey, so this pack is great, however once i installed it, only the standard vehicles were replaced, like the ones in story mode. No other vehicles were replaced, and i think it has to do with the fact that police6, etc are missing from the vehicle files.

I understand you're frustration as the same thing happened to me, the old vehicles (Durango, caprice, old mustang, etc) were still driving around until I read a discussion post on this website on how to change the agency.xml file in the lspdfr folder in the main GTA V directory and now police, police2, and police3 are what roam around, that can be changed. As for the rest of the vehicles (except police, police2, police3, police4) they can be found in the added vehicles list in vehicle spawning in simple trainer menu. Hope this helps!

Hey, thanks for the help. I also found a solution, altough it takes more time. So, you basically press F4 or whatever keybind you have to open up the RPH commands. You type in "Spawn pol", stop there, and then take a screenshot of the results, like oldpolice1, oldpolice2, etc. Then, you can download some single vehicle packs, or maybe a pack if you want to, and rename the names from  "police2.yft" to "policeold1.yft", etc.

Edit. I dug through the agency files, and the newer vehicles are labeled as "poldorado" and so on. Now, the only solution i found is to change it to police2, police3, police4 or police, or anything else. However, do NOT label a vehicle from for example, an LAPD pack as "polgreenwood" as a replacement. The vehicle will be converted into the model you want to replace, however the vehicle will all be black, and would just look weird.

Hello,

First of all, thank you so much for sharing this package, and I love it so much!

I am new in LSPDFR and I just noticed that the Add-On vehicles from your package cannot escort suspects. I really appreciate it if you could offer me some tips for making those vehicles able to escort.

Can we get an update on this pack fixing the vehicle driving dynamics? I'm finding many cars have trouble coming to a stop and turning the car is a nightmare for every car.

Hello, I've installed this pack with the addon and the Ford Fusion and FPIU's (2020 and 2016) have the wrong handling. Is there any way to fix it? Ex.: FPIU's roll over on sharp curves and the Fusion drifts a lot. Thanks!

It doesn't matter which one I use, both of them lead to janky cars that flip at every turn when going code 3, they are heavy and to lots of burnouts and overall are not fun to drive.

To fix it I ended up downloading a different addon car pack and converting these LAPD cars to fit that car pack to fix the handling.

Do you mind sharing the car pack and the liveries? I think I'm gonna do that too cause the cars are undrivable.

Great...that's exactly what I was missing. But I have a question. Are the searchlights just for visual purposes or do they actually work? I'm wondering if I've done something wrong. When I turn on the light, the searchlights stay dark.

yes, go into the defaultregions.xml inside the UB folder (gtav>plugins>lspdfr>ultimatebackup) and change the vehicles there to what you want

love what this pack comes with but no matter what I do turning just flips most of the cars and sometimes I can't even use the cars because they don't load into a game with me?

Hi everyone, I absolutely followed the pdf to the letter, I put the files in patchdayng28 but once in game I only have 5-6 vehicles out of the 21 normally available, do you have a solution ?

The replacement cars work fine but I can't get the addon cars to work.

But it is normal that some of these vehicles have interiors that suck?
