Let's be honest.
You turn on your lights and siren because you need to get somewhere.
Then the car ahead starts brake-checking you. The pursuit suspect suddenly decides to yield. Your backup gets stuck behind traffic, and your emergency response becomes a battle with GTA's driving AI.
That's why I rebuilt Cryptic Emergency Traffic from scratch.
This rebuild focuses on reducing interference with LSPDFR while letting GTA's driving AI handle steering and lane positioning. It doesn't repeatedly replace civilian driving tasks or force cars towards scripted pull-over coordinates.
What It Does
Separate Code 2 and Code 3 settings for lights-only and lights-and-siren responses.
Uses GTA's emergency yielding behaviour during normal responses, with configurable minimum activation speeds.
Disables the plugin's broad yielding requests during active pursuits to avoid encouraging suspects and pursuing units to pull over.
Offers an optional pursuit response that gently limits the speed of eligible civilian vehicles ahead of you, travelling in the same direction.
Excludes known LSPDFR suspect vehicles, emergency vehicles, player vehicles and persistent vehicles from those civilian speed adjustments.
Suspends the plugin's yielding requests during active traffic stops and when you're stationary or moving below the configured response speed.
Restores speed limits applied by the plugin when vehicles are no longer relevant.
Supports additional emergency vehicle model names through the configuration.
Includes optional debug logging to help investigate problems.
Automatically creates
CrypticEmergencyTraffic.inion first load.No additional keybinds.
Built Around LSPDFR
Pursuits already have enough going on without a traffic plugin repeatedly telling the suspect to do something else.
The rebuild checks LSPDFR's pursuit and traffic-stop state before applying its traffic logic. During pursuits, the optional civilian response focuses on eligible traffic ahead of you and excludes vehicles identified by LSPDFR as suspects.
It also avoids assigning or clearing NPC driving tasks, reducing one source of interference with other plugins.
The aim is cleaner emergency responses with less disruption to the situations LSPDFR is already managing.
What to Expect
During normal responses, GTA's own driving AI controls how traffic yields. Road layout, congestion, vehicle behaviour and other installed mods can all affect the result.
During pursuits, the optional civilian response adjusts eligible vehicles' maximum speed. It doesn't force them to change lanes or guarantee a clear route.
At traffic stops, the plugin suspends its yielding requests. It doesn't currently add scripted routing to make vehicles drive around your parked cruiser.
I'm aiming for more consistent behaviour, but I'm not going to promise that every GTA driver suddenly becomes sensible.
Configuration
The plugin generates its configuration here:
Grand Theft Auto V Legacy\plugins\LSPDFR\CrypticEmergencyTraffic.ini
You can configure:
Code 2 and Code 3 response activation.
Minimum response speeds.
Pursuit civilian detection distances and speed percentages.
Whether the optional pursuit civilian response is enabled.
Additional emergency vehicle model names.
Scan interval and debug logging.
Additional vehicle models still need suitable emergency vehicle setup. Adding a model name to the configuration doesn't give it working emergency equipment or yielding behaviour by itself.
Updating from an Older Version
Remove the previous Cryptic Emergency Traffic installation before installing this rebuild, including any old copy of its DLL or PDB directly inside plugins.
Install the new DLL in:
Grand Theft Auto V Legacy\plugins\LSPDFR
The .ini is generated automatically when the plugin loads. Recognised older configurations are backed up before the new defaults are created.

If something goes wrong, include your RagePluginHook.log, your configuration and a description of what was happening. Let me know whether it happened during a normal response, pursuit or traffic stop, and whether you were using lights only or lights and siren.

What's New in Version 3.0.0
Released
v3.0.0
Complete Rewrite
Completely rewrote Cryptic Emergency Traffic from the ground up with a new modular architecture focused on natural behaviour, reliability and LSPDFR compatibility.
Replaced the previous aggressive task-forcing system with a cleaner traffic management system.
Added
Added speed and urgency-based traffic detection.
Added smarter vehicle relevance checks based on direction, position and proximity.
Added dedicated protection for LSPDFR pursuit suspects.
Added dedicated protection for vehicles involved in LSPDFR traffic stops.
Added improved emergency vehicle classification, including supported add-on emergency vehicles.
Added relative-speed yielding, allowing traffic to slow proportionally to its current speed.
Added configurable same-direction detection.
Added a safety threshold preventing clearly opposite-direction traffic from being treated as relevant.
Added a new fully commented
.iniconfiguration that is never automatically generated or overwritten.
Changed
Yielding now uses GTA V's own driving AI to handle lane positioning and steering.
Significantly reduced forced and scripted vehicle manoeuvres.
Same-direction filtering is now performed before other traffic logic.
Opposite-direction and opposite-carriageway traffic is ignored.
Traffic is only retasked when its state actually changes, reducing unnecessary AI intervention.
Improved traffic detection performance and reduced unnecessary processing.
Improved emergency vehicle detection and exclusion.
Fixed
Fixed aggressive pull-over behaviour that could cause vehicles to flip or behave unnaturally.
Fixed opposite-direction traffic reacting on motorways and dual carriageways.
Fixed pursuit suspects being incorrectly treated as normal traffic.
Fixed vehicles involved in traffic stops being unnecessarily affected.
Fixed jerky and stop-start behaviour caused by repeated tasking.
Fixed unnatural braking caused by forcing vehicles to specific speeds.
Fixed vehicles remaining managed after they were no longer relevant.
Fixed unnecessary repeated task assignments.
Removed
Removed the previous aggressive task-forcing system.
Removed coordinate-based pull-over targets.
Removed forced low-speed behaviour.
Removed
SET_VEHICLE_FORWARD_SPEEDfrom the yielding system.Removed runtime
.inigeneration and modification.Removed the previous rigid state-machine approach.
Notes
Version 3.0.0 is a complete rewrite of Cryptic Emergency Traffic and replaces the previous traffic system.
The new system is designed around a simple principle: only affect the traffic that genuinely needs to react, and leave everything else alone.
It is recommended to remove previous versions and use the new fully commented CrypticEmergencyTraffic.ini included with this release.
