This mod is not causing tasers to be deadly. Likely something else effecting your game.

Deadly Weapons is a plugin for LSPDFR to add a more dangerous feel to guns. GTA makes people sponges for gameplay, but LSPDFR aims for a more realistic approach.

 

With deadly weapons I increase damage taken by weapons for both the player and AI. Damage varies between limbs and whether the ped is wearing armor or not. It also introduces new auto panic button behavior for when the player fires their weapons.

As for the AI, the AI is very trigger happy you are correct. I have already started working on having the aggressive peds fire slower (unless they have a rifle) and try to take cover. 80% chance of them running away when the player is knocked over.

 

I do like the idea of being able to be saved. It is something I thought of too, I do want to add a feature like that. Although my only issue is seeing if I can get the medics from BetterEMS and Ultimate Backup to save the player. Preventing null exception crashes is a game in it's own when working with other plugins 😛

My advice, as one dev to another, get it working with RPH and LSPDFR first. Not everyone will use BetterEMS or Ultimate Backup 😉

And also, my favorite two words (possibly most used in API Dev) Safety Checks! They'll save you a world of pain lol. When in doubt, try/catch 🙂

 

(I've no doubt you know that already but I like to reiterate it as much as possible lol)

The idea is excellent.  In practice in some respects it meets expectations, but there are notes that I bring to your attention so that you can improve it.  first of all, as you also said, the effect should also be extended to the ped.  then I noticed that even more than a hundred meters away, while I find it hard to hurt the suspect, he can kill me from that great distance.  Also, I suggest that you add the chance to injure or knock out the suspect, without necessarily causing him to die, for example by hitting him in the legs.  if you improve these aspects then the mod will be really real

This is very extreme but realistic at the same time. Great job on releasing. Love to see the plan features in the next update!

Can you please make an config file to remove the automatic backup? But thank you also for this and will test it + review too don't worry 😄

I'll try it out right away ! Amazing idea. 
Only thing I could suggest would be that when you fire your weapon, it activate the Panic Button from Ultimate Backup, this way it's fully customizable

In other words. LSPDFR just went from Rookie mode to Veteran. I've actually just tried this with a few callouts and I got too say its impressing. Makes you think highly different from what I'm used to thinking.  A few things though. Just like another user has said the damage effect should go both ways. Also I'm not aware of any departments having any panic button after the firearm is shot. NOW! I do know some departments have a panic button when their shotgun or rifle would be disarmed from the holster, but thats another story.

 

Overall great neat plugin. I personally think this should be a standalone rageplugin, but that's just me. I will be keeping an eye for updates on this. Great mod!

In a future version I am going to completely modify how the AI behaves, if you are too far away there is will be something like a 70% chance they will flee. As well as I want to throw their aim off a bit. As for shooting an AI in the legs, I could do that.

Also I LOVE the concept of being saved by EMS. My suggestions are to put some effects on to make the player aware that he is one step from dying. Now, that was the fake "practical" reason. The real reason i would want that is because of the drama😛    

The effects could be visual, auditory or both. My ideas are:

  • When dispatch is notified about the shots fired there should be the "ALL UNITS RESPOND CODE 99 EMERGENCY", "OFFICER NEEDS IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE", "SHOTS FIRED AT AN OFFICER" all preferebly without the "UMMMMMMMMMMM" 😄
  • When a weapon is fired there should be a way to simulate the adrenaline rush maybe a light blur on the edges of the screen (although could be annoying) to simulate the tunnel vision maybe sounds become more blurry(?) i am not sure about this one..
  • When you die dispatch should say "OFFICER DOWN" or the officers that came for backup could say something dramatic like that.

If you implement the feature of being saved by EMS:

  Reveal hidden contents
  • Before the EMS comes to save you to be realistic the area must be secure.
  • A ringing sound when you are dead on the floor (like the one after an explosion)
  • The screen could get slowly gray
  • The screen could get gradually partially or completely blurry.
  • Sounds could start to blend in and become slowly barely hearable as you lose connection with the living world. 
  • I don't have any idea how you could do all of this🤪😂

Anyways just throwing ideas. I think It would be very dramatic and cool but maybe that would be too much for other people and of course its a tiny bit TOO MUCH. I hope this doesn't feel like I am demanding or expecting  you doing any or all of this.

 

 

I like the idea, but in the real world dispatch is trained to stay calm. I like your ideas though I'll look into it.

You are correct I don't know any real ones that panic on discharge, but many including mine have a weapon camera that activates when the weapon is active. Let's pretend GTA is 2 years in the future and there is a little transmitter on the gun that sends a signal to your patrol car when you shoot 😉 but i'll add an option to disable that soon!

 

I fully agree with the callouts too. With my callouts for example there is a lot of random scenarios. You could go to a strange car on the road, nobody there, or it could happen when you show up it's a wanted felon who will shoot you. Makes you realize why cops need to always be on their toes. I think this is fun because you have to take things seriously. There is much more to be added but so far I am liking the results!

Wondering if a functional safety on your weapon could be at all possible to add as a feature? Since the moment you fire your firearm, dispatch will be notified. Might add a bit of realism or that extra something? Maybe? Just an idea I had thought of.

I could do something like that, if I do it will be in the config and default to not being on but then people can enable it if they like.

UPDATE 1.1

 

I will have this update ready for later tomorrow or Sunday depending on my schedule!

 

Features:

Added new ped AI, they will shoot slower, have lower accuracy, and have a chance to flee after shooting.

Added Ultimate Backup support, if you have that plugin it will use that for the panic button. If not, no worries it will use LSPDFR default backup.

Added stats to peds, they will die just as easily as a player. Things are fair now.

Added config file.

Probably something else I forgot about.

 

Config:

Config for all addons, enable / disable what you want. (Stats not included in config yet)

Added option to disable panic button in config.

Added option to disable damage in config.

Added option to to change cooldown time for panic button.

Added option to Enable better ped AI.

 

I'm going to my buddies for the weekend and will not be able to test this version, if you want to help me test please join my discord and let me know!

In the future I plan to add less than lethal ammo for this mod, but removing the shotgun wouldn't be fair to everyone else.
