Canadian Charges, Tickets, & Search Items 1.8.3

Having noticed a distinct lack of Canadian content for STP & Compulite, I am pleased to share my own configs. These are the result of countless hours spent filtering through the Criminal Code of Canada, Provincial Motor Vehicle/Highway Traffic Acts, and others. I hope that they are as much use to others as they have been to me. Since I know that realism matters to a lot of us, please note the following before use:

  • I have included VehicleItems.xml and PatDownItems.xml files for both BC and other provinces as BC differs in that our provincial government sought and received an exemption from the Controlled Drugs & Substances Act (CDSA), in order to decriminalize the possession of personal use amounts of certain narcotics. (More information on this can be found here: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/overdose/decriminalization#:~:text=Under this exemption%2C adults (18,Crack and powder cocaine, as I don't know how much I'm allowed to say about that kind of stuff on this site).
  • I have also included French versions of the "Other Provinces & Territories" VehicleItems.xml and PatDownItems.xml files in case any French-Canadian folks would like to use them.
  • Possession of up to 4 ounces of Cannabis/Marijuana is legal in Canada as long as the possessor is 19 years of age or older.
  • Tasers/Stun Guns and Pepper Spray containing Oleoresin Capsicum (OC/Mace) are prohibited weapons in Canada, excluding use by law enforcement and, I believe, military personnel.
  • Knuckledusters (also known as Brass Knuckles) are a prohibited weapon in Canada.

Provinces

  • British Columbia - Included.
  • Alberta - Not started yet, haven't been able to find resources. (If you know of any, please let me know).
  • Saskatchewan - Not started yet, haven't been able to find resources. (If you know of any, please let me know).
  • Manitoba - Included.
  • Ontario - Included.
  • Québec English & French Versions Included.
  • New Brunswick Not started yet, haven't been able to find resources. (If you know of any, please let me know).
  • Newfoundland and Labrador  - Included.
  • Nova Scotia Not started yet, haven't been able to find resources. (If you know of any, please let me know).
  • Prince Edward Island Not started yet, haven't been able to find resources. (If you know of any, please let me know).

Territories

  • Yukon Not started yet, haven't been able to find resources. (If you know of any, please let me know).
  • Northwest Territories Not started yet, haven't been able to find resources. (If you know of any, please let me know).
  • Nunavut Not started yet, haven't been able to find resources. (If you know of any, please let me know).

Please let me know if I have missed any charges or tickets that should be included, and if you'd like to see tickets for any other provinces or territories made. Otherwise, Enjoy!

Updates:

  • v.1.00. - Initial release.
  • v.1.1.0. - Added a citations.xml file for Ontario as I already had one made that I had forgotten about.
  • v.1.2.0. - Added a charges.xml file for Ontario as I realized that the penalties for DUI vary by province, in addition to the federal charge.
  • v.1.3.0. - Added citations and charges for Manitoba.
  • v.1.4.0. - Added citations and charges for Newfoundland & Labrador.
  • v.1.5.0. - Added citations and charges for Québec, and fixed some typos in the Ontario citations.
  • v.1.6.0. - Added French versions of the citations.xml and charges.xml for Québec, added French versions of the VehicleItems.xml and PatDownItems.xml files, and corrected some inaccuracies, typos, and duplications of items in the English versions of the VehicleItems.xml and PatDownItems.xml files.
  • v.1.7.0.- Fixed a couple typos in both of the English VehicleItems.xml files.
  • v.1.8.0.- Added upgraded French citations.xml and a French translation of Charges.xml for Québec.
  • v.1.8.1.- Minor fixes.
  • v.1.8.2. - Added more cycling-related citations for BC, and implemented some other fixes.
  • v.1.8.3. - Updated BC citations to add the new offences for failing to leave a safety gap when passing cyclists, as well as driving unauthorized automated vehicles and commercial vehicle speed limiter violation offences.

for QUEBEC province penal code it is the same as the other province because it is federal (criminal code) for citation (ticket) go to SAAQ.com you will find enough documentation about that. I was looking for Canadian charge and citation for Compulite for almost 2 years now so good job buddy!

Thanks, man! Your feedback means a lot, especially considering this my first modification ever. I have got the Quebec stuff done, thanks to your sources, so standby for an update! I also gave you credit in the "Credits" tab.

Thanks buddy, I appreciate! The only thing is if a player select your QC charges and citations, almost 99.99% of them are french canadian speakers like the province official language. So if possible could you please put the citations in french like the original language of our traffic violation and general violation (not criminal)?? No need to translate the charges.

I will give your request a try, but please know that my French is rusty. It's been 5+ years since I last studied the language in high school, so you'll have to bear with me.

I've read all the citation in french and there is some small spelling and/or grammar mistakes. Is there a way I can correct them and send back to you the correct version?? It will be a pleasure to help you!

By all means go ahead and fix any issues you find in Notepad or any text document editor, then send the files to me at Fhsig13#8651 on Discord if that works for you. If not, I think you can just attach the file to a comment here if it's small enough.

@Fhsig13 Hello ! I've sent you a Friend Request on discord, (lspdfr.) I've corrected (Grammar wise) and added a couple of things in Charges.xml and Citations.xml

I tried to send a message to you with the .xml's on discord but It doesn't seems to work lol

I will send it to you in Private Messages In LSPDFR if you don't mind ! : )

Great modification! After you have completed this fantastic mod, you should do something like Realistic Traffic Stop Questions and all that stuff. Anyway, thanks and have a g'day!

Amazing job on these charges, though I noticed while going through court cases, there was the death penalty (which was abolished in Canada) for attempted murder. Regardless, its great to see some Canadian charges and citations, which I tried to find before, and you've done an excellent job on this.

Thanks! I really appreciate your feedback and thanks as well for pointing out that mistake. I thought that I'd removed all of the death penalty stuff (for exactly the reason you mentioned), but clearly I missed one. I will fix that and update the pack.

EDIT: I double-checked all of the charges files and cannot seem to find the death penalty listed anywhere, so I'm not sure why that's happening.

Yeah, its pretty odd. I suspect it might be a bug on my end and unrelated to this, as I've went through the charges.xml and there was no death penalty. I've also tried charging people with the same offence, and there was no death penalty as well, so I'm assuming it was possibly a bug on my end.
