Open up the start menu and type "UAC". Select user account control and disable it :) For the commandline, create a text file in your GTA IV root directory with the name "commandline.txt" and fill it with the contents -norestrictions

Disable UAC and run the game again. If you still cannot change the settings, you may need a commandline.

I joined because I wanted to play the mod, but I now remain because of my moderator duties and the good people I've met over the years :) For the community I'd summarize it.

Please do the following: Make sure you aren't using a crack - We don't support cracks Update GTA IV to 1.0.7.0 (the latest version of the game, or 1.1.2.0 for EFLC) - This sometimes fixes a wide variety of issues Make sure that you run the game as an administrator. Make sure that your GTA IV root folder (and every subdirectory) is not set to "read-only" Ensure that ScriptHook.dll, ScriptHookDotNet.asi and Dsound.dll OR Xlive.dll are in the GTA IV ROOT folder Ensure that there is a folder titled 'LCPDFR' in the ROOT GTA IV folder. Check that all the above files exist, if they do not, reinstall LCPDFR with the MANUAL installation. Ensure that you are using up to date versions of every LCPDFR dependency and LCPDFR itself. Install these: .Net Framework 4.5, Microsoft Visual C++ Redist 2012 If your problem has been solved after following these basic instructions, hit 'Mark Solved' next to this post. If not, please now reply to this thread, and make sure that you do the following: Give a clear, detailed description of the problem. Explain any circumstances surrounding the problem. State what solutions you have tried. Post ALL relevant logs (LCPDFR.log, Scripthook.log, ScriptHookDotNet.log, AdvancedHook.log). Include as much information as possible. Post your system specifications. Post what other mods you are using. This includes car and script mods. Please note that failure to follow these instructions may cause this thread to be closed.

What you see on YouTube is most likely edited to remove the crashes, after all, no one wants to see the crashes.

Indeed, and that is the problem here. It is hard to tell what happened, and the officer believed it to be justified. We can judge all we want, but we weren't there. The video is mediocre at best and it doesn't let us into the situation at all.

If it works outside of multiplayer, there isn't much to do. LCPDFR is not supported in multiplayer. What you can do is limited the amount of mods to zero and make sure your setups are identical.

Will this still be a private pack?

Remove any third-party modifications and try again. To do this, I guess you'll have to reinstall since you decided to install an ENB, they are a bit difficult to remove. After you have a clean install (NO mods at all), install LCPDFR and let us know the results. If it still crashes after that, show us a screenshot of your GTA IV directory. We cannot cater the setup that each indidivual uses. LCPDFR is tested on an unmodded copy of the game, and as such it can only recieve proper support on such a copy.

Name one mod that never does crash. To be fair, LCPDFR itself rarely crashes at all :) On topic though: It sounds interesting, it'd be a fitting immersion mod to have.

I am pretty sure that Rockstar Games are influenced by real-life, just as we are. I am sure they aren't blind to modding creations, but them as us, are inspired by real life. They surely see the modding community, I just don't think they're inspired by it as much as people may think.
