Honestly, since you only have LCPDFR I have no idea why lightbars are disappearing. I'd have a go at installing ELS and some enabled cars, the lightbars should work on those.

As sc2142 said, if you have ELS installed then you will need to download some ELS-enabled cars for the light bars to work correctly. LCPDFR does not modify the vehicles or lightbars in any way and would not be the cause of this issue.

What do you mean by "spawned AI police cars"? Do you mean when you call for prisoner transport and the transport vehicle spawns and then disappears?

Yeah the callouts on the first one have absolutely nothing to do with LCPDFR. They are part of GTAIV. You will only recieve LCPDFR callouts at the bottom on the screen where you have to press Y.

The first one is the default GTAIV one. If that opens you should just close it and keep pressing E until you get the one with the login screen. You will then be able to look up the name of the driver that you just pulled over. The GTAIV default one is only useful in certain story missions and shouldn't really be opening if you have LCPDFR installed, i'm not too sure why it is.

That sounds like an error on the default GTAIV police computer. When you press E in a police car, does it look like this: '> Or like this: '>

If the cars have no lightbars, as others have said, you need to install ELS enabled cars using a program such as sparkIV or openIV. If you look in the downloads section, you'll find a filter option for "ELS Enabled". Just get any car from that section. There are countless youtube tutorials on how to install them after that. The reason that taxis have really bright lights is because of the VisualSettings.dat supplied with ELS. I know there is a texture you can download to make the actual signs darker so the lights appear normal, but that was a long time ago and I wouldn't know where to find it.

You press J 3 times to turn on all of the lights. All ELS 6 cars are compatible with ELS 7.

No problem. To install the plate reader, just place ALPR.ini and ALPR.net.dll into Grand Theft Auto IVscripts and press F5 in game to activate it. You need a few loaders for this to work, but if you have ELS and LCPDFR then you will already have them.

Alright. Try to see if ELS works before installing the trainer, just so you can prove that it's what's causing the problem.

Alright, that's why the lights aren't working. To disable the keys from outside of the game do this: 1. Open trainer.ini in your GTA directory (C:Program Files (x86)Rockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IV) 2. Search the document (CTRL+F) for KeyBindingsDisabled 3. Change the value after KeyBindingsDisabled from 0 to 1 4. Save and exit Or if you wanted to you can just get rid of trainer completely by deleting trainer.ini and trainer.asi

Sorry, I could have sworn that I replied to this. Anyway, if you're getting the invalid resource message, I suggest that you try a different car model and ensure that you are installing it correctly. If you still can't get it to work, reinstalling should not be needed, just a reinstall of vehicles.img. You can find the backup of it here: http://www.gta-downloads.com/en/gta4/file-backups/10674-models-cdimages-folder-backup.html (ensure that you download gtaivbackups_14_pc_mo...cdimages_vehicles.rar) It goes in Rockstar GamesGrand Theft Auto IVpcmodelscdimages. This will reset all of your vehicles to the original ones and therefore remove any corrupted or bad models, allowing you to try again without having to reinstall the whole game. Again, try to just put in another car before you put in the whole new img.

Did you copy all of the folders over, including the scripthook and the dsound? When you enter an ELS-enabled vehicle and press CTRL+M, does the lighting mode window appear?

Are you sure that you installed the vehicle model properly? If the game is saying that the model is missing then it's likely that you made a mistake. There are many tutorials around the internet about how to install new models using SparkIV and OpenIV. If it still doesn't work, try a new model, there may be a problem with it.

It can seem quite complex at first, however I believe that you don't actually need to mess around with any configs for it to actually work. Just go in game, get into the car and press J a few times.

I always had trouble with express mode not working properly, too. It would never activate when I pressed CTRL+BACKSPACE, however, it would activate, say, when I was typing a name into the police computer, made a mistake, and pressed backspace. It then would not turn off. In the end, I ended up just completely removing the keybind for it since it was too much trouble. Do you need to use express mode for a specific reason or do you just prefer to play like that?

You should download BraveHeart's Policing Script, it has a resist arrest element to it where some suspects will either run away or start a fight with you when arrested.
