TheTurtleGuy reacted to Sam in LCPDFR 1.0d Megathread
So, now that LCPDFR 1.0d has been released, I'm really keen to hear about everyone's experiences of it.  For 1.0d, one of the things I did was slowly work my way through the hundreds of topics in the suggestions forum, trying to figure out what you really wanted to see.  Of course, multiple partners seemed to top the list, so we've worked really hard to add them in - no small feat considering we only started work on that last month.

With that being said, please use this topic to post any stories, screenshots or feedback you might have regarding 1.0d.  Please do not post support requests here (installation, crashes, etc.).  Asking for support regarding gameplay/new features (e.g. how do I get my partner to follow me in a car) is fine.

For anyone who's been paying attention my activity on the site over the past few months has been slim to none. I've been meaning to do this for awhile now so this will be my farewell and my announcement of "retirement". I've been an active member of this site for years now with over 1,000 posts, honestly I never thought I'd make 100 posts. I'm not going to ramble on and right an essay, there are just a few things I want to say. There have been so many people along the way that have helped me:
Nutt - who's been a great friend, contributed to many projects and has been with me since day one.
    Makinith29 - the YouTube legend
EFox - another good friend who has been with me from the start
KevinDV, EVI, BxBugs123, Voodoobie, Tim98 (or whatever he calls himself today) for all of the parts and support they have provided along the way.
Raptor422 and Strikeeagle345 - I was able to form great friendships with these guys and have a successful YouTube LCPD:FR patrol series.
Also a huge thank you to Sam and the developers of LCPD:FR, without you there wouldn't be any reason for all the great mods we make.
Anyone who has ever BETA tested for me - the mods weren't possible without you guys.
Anyone else I forgot, don't feel bad if I forgot your name, I just have trouble remembering everyone.

It all started with an unlocked CVPI, EVI's wheel pack, Code 3 XT6's and a Whelen Justice... I did it simply because I wanted 1 car, a slicktop unmarked CVPI with hubcaps. (link to my first model for anyone interested ?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>)'>?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>) I never intended to even release that or make any more cars than that but with almost 35 released files totaling 40,000 downloads on this site alone, I couldn't have asked for anything more. None of which would have been possible without you guys, the community.

Honestly I have no interest in modeling anymore, I haven't touched any projects in months and even in my free time I don't enjoy it like I use to. With work and the fact that what use to be a virtual law enforcement career is on its way to becoming a real life one I feel its time to part ways so I can focus fully on that, as I've been doing for awhile now. I had some great times on this forum and in this community as a whole and once again I thank everyone for that. GTA V has been in the back of my mind and while there is a chance I may come back and release content for that, well I wouldn't hold your breath. I will still lurk in the shadows as I've been doing and may occasionally posts here and there but for the most part this will conclude my time here.

THANK YOU and I hope everyone has a fantastic holiday and new year.

There is a way that sort of calms them down. When in a pursuit, press F8 and it opens the Pursuit Menu. You can make them aggressive or passive, passive seems to make them a lot more courteous in their driving.

Alright first of all sorry if this has already been mentioned, but I've just had a great idea, that the ai cops taking part in the pursuits, should only follow the player, like the bikers in TLAD. This way they won't move way too aggressive on the suspects. No more unrealistic ramming at high speeds, they'll let you PIT the suspect. I'd also suggest following the player with a bit of distance, so if you brake hard into a corner, they won't ram you. One of the reasons why I disabled (well tried) the ai police pursuits, is because the cops were way too unrealistic about it. I'm thinking this should be either hard coded, or that there should be a button where you can change the ai cops behaviour. Also when you exit the vehicle, this following thing should stop, and then they can overtake your car and position themselves for a felony stop.

Another thing I'm pretty sure was mentioned is the felony stop. For example if you find out that the suspect is wanted, the traffic stop immediately turns into a felony stop, where you can give out orders to the suspect, and you don't have to walk back to his/her car.

I find, that on most occasions, multiplayer is far more stable. I could try to load single player but when scripts load it instantly crashes however if I am invited to a multiplayer session or quickly load one myself, I do not crash and get a lengthy play time.

    That's what I said

Use the vehicle installer and check "Rebuild archive on exit" as well as the ELS box if you're installing ELS-Enabled Vehicles.

The problems could be just the amount of car-mods you have as well. You can't overloard on them, especially if your system doesn't meet requirements set to the game itself.

    See if it works.

Well firstly as far as I'm concerned, older versions of lcpdfr are not currently supported, and only the newest version (1.0c) is.

Anyways, since this is car reated, when you say skin I think you mean car model. If you literally mean just a texture change I'm not sure because when I mod cars I mod the entire car, despite my low-poly pack.

Anyways, I think I see your problem as It's happened to me: When you use Open/SparkIV after REPLACING a file (Such as HORNS.ivuad or police/police2, etc), try rebuilding the archive. I always used to crash because I wasn't rebuilding, in edit mode click "File" or the equivalent in the top left, and go to Rebuild. Click rebuild and there you go, do this after you add a new file or replace something.

As for the other guy's reply, making a new save does help as well. i never play on a save after modding cars just because I get SMPA60 more often.

Oh and, I suggest not using a manual install for cars, It's my personal preference but I think it would be easier to use GTAIV Vehicle Mod Installer. It has an option for ELS enabled cars which (may) make it more stable on install. It also automatically rebuilds the archive when exiting, which saves you the trouble.

If you want to revert to the original vehicle pack, you need to backup the file "vehicles.img" located in  pcmodelscdimages of your GTA folder. Copy and paste it somewhere.

If you don't want to wait "8 hours" (That's long...mine takes 2 hours tops) you can find a fresh vehicles.img online somewhere.

definitely the brain-dead ambulance driver AI. The amount of times i call for a medic in a place like the docks or alleyways, wait five minutes for it to dispatch, watch as it tries to back into an alleyway, knocks over ten peds and a lamp post, before turning around and speeding off around the block in completely the wrong direction, i might as well shoot the poor bastard who needed the medic in the first place.

AI's not slowing down when the pursuit has stopped but instead driving into the pile at full speed.

Hmm, I thoroughly enjoy performing a traffic stop, and when the guy decides to run away, just blowing up his car with an RPG.

I don't enjoy the coffee though. The guys back at the station make it and it tastes like shit. I think they use dirt instead of coffee grinds.

Hello, I come in peace ^_^

Like lcpdsergeant you are using many scripts, but I would advise you triple checking your keys (controls) making sure nothing conflicts with one another...

And can you explain what traffic lights script is?? If it's the script I think it is (where the light poles don't break when you drive into them) then that's one of your issues. For some reason when I had a mod similar to that it randomly crashed my game, mainly when the AI were driven crazy, crashing into everything.

    Good luck Mann

If you want more viewers, do something different to everybody else. Whether it be a different style of commentary, different mods or whatever, just do something different. If you want to succeed on YouTube you need to stand out among the rest and be unique, it's not an easy thing to do though.

Luck. I made a crap-ass video some years back and got 30k views (true story). But seriously, a good title and keywords is essential, people not finding your video is one of the reasons many fail to get views. The programs you use are absolutely fine. Also, avoid looking like a 'noob', make yourself appear professional and give your channel a make -over. Good luck!

Do you have a current generation Nvidia Geforce GPU?  GTX 6 and GTX 7 series have built-in hardware-based HD video recording and encoding called ShadowPlay that comes with the latest drivers.  No performance drop, real-time hardware-encoding to MP4 H.264, and an option to always record your mic/headset or PTT.  I use it to record my videos, 1080P, and since it's hardware based directly from the graphics card, with no performance drop at all.

Since it encodes to H.264 in real time, your videos take up much less space than the uncompressed ginormous videos from FRAPS or other software-based recording programs.  Plus you save time because you don't have to then compress those huge files into H.264 afterwards anyway.  And since it's from the graphics card directly, you can record anything you see on screen, including your desktop, your applications, or whatever.

I know this sounds like an advertisement, but it seems not many people know about ShadowPlay and that they already have a near-perfect recording solution just sitting there while they use FRAPS or Bandicam.  Just trying to spread the word =)

Yes, it will work with any ENB.  Any game.  Anything you see on screen and hear from the speakers (including your mic) can be recorded.  It's hardware-based (baked into the GPU) so it doesn't have any compatibility issues (that I know of).

    =(

Does ATI cards have something similar? I know you probably need an R series card to get it, but do you know if those high-end Radeon cards have a similar video recording capability?
