  5. Logitech's Gaming Software (G25/27) can restrict wheel rotation, my racing (and rally) profiles are restricted to 200 degrees, OMSI and ETS is set to 900.
  6. Happy birthday to the German scripting wizard.
  7. I would be surprised if Ford entered in GT racing until the whole GT convergence farce has been resolved, and there's always BoP. As you said, Ford doesn't have a car, perhaps apart from the Mustang, that would stand a chance at getting homologated, waivers notwithstanding. It would be far more likely that they will develop a replacement for their DP programme once IMSA ditches the DP's in TUSC after 2015, whether IMSA opts for LMP2 only or they develop their own class format may depend on it, developing a LMP-2 engine or perhaps supply a LMP-1-L team with Ford EcoBoosts would also be likely options. There has been rumours about big names (Ferrari, McLaren) lobbying for a DTM'esque prototype format where the cars are visually similar to a production car. Ford has a lot of experience with developing silhouette racers from their NASCAR programme. I wouldn't be surprised if Ford opted for that type of sports car racing, especially if the ACO and FIA persists with using the technical regulations to develop road relevant technology, whatever the format the LMP-1's might be. Road relevance is why Porsche came to WEC this year and it's why Nissan is coming next year, and it's why Honda is yet to reveal their LMP-1-H project.
  8. It has been nearly two months since I last updated this thread. I have kept modding on a low-burn (as opposed to sautéing) so I haven't moved heaven or earth since August, the only modding activities has surrounded polishing a couple of minor details on the project and it's very close to being finished, though there is still a couple of issues that I will have to address before release. My modding time has mostly been spent on making a lightbar mounted ANPR (or ALPR for those on the left side of the big pond) camera, the model is loosely based on a >camera that the LAPD and LScoSD uses, I chose that particular camera as it is visually unique and somewhat compact (unlike> these massive hangars). Preview images: Those screenshots does not represent the final product, the camera itself is too small and the cord ends rather abruptly mid-air.
  9. It looks like a Federal Signal Phoenix.
  10. The witness statements aren't worth the paper they are written on, several witnesses have given contradicting statements, the "independent" autopsy (it's beyond my understanding how an autopsy can be independent when it is ordered by the suspect's family, though it does appear as being credible), also contradicts several different witness accounts. It also provides a lot of the facts that we do know. The suspect was sought in connection to a robbery that had just occurred in the area, the initial (first stop) was not connected to this, but to the suspect blocking traffic on a road. Both witnesses and the police have said that the suspect had an "altercation" inside a police car prior to the shooting, everybody also agrees that the suspect walked away from the police car before he was shot, we don't have a clear picture of what happened after he left the car. What we do know is that the suspect was shot six times from the front (contradicting the witness reports of him being shot in the back and shot while putting his hands up), the bullets hit his arm, his torso and his head. The medical examiner concluded that the wounds could have occurred as the officer shot the suspect while he was surrendering (e.g. raising his arms), OR they could have occurred as a result of the officer shooting as the suspect charged at him. Images of the crime scene has also been leaked onto the internet, I have been told that the body is positioned in a way that are consistent with the suspect being shot while in forward motion, indicating that he was moving towards the officer, though it must be taken with a grain of salt as we don't know if ambulance staff had tended to the suspect at that point. In short, it's still very much possible that the officer acted in accordance with his training, it is also possible that he didn't. We do not have the facts to make that judgement yet. Anything beyond accepting that it's uncertain is speculation. What's also apparent is that the media is working the incident from a predetermined script, this was clear within hours of the shooting when various media outlets were reporting that the police had shot "an 18 year old kid", describing him as "a gentle giant according to the family", later on describing "riots in Ferguson", but calling those on the street "protesters", not rioters. It's also without doubt that the media is deliberately fuelling the riots whenever possible, the phrase "police militarization" has been used countless times to vilify the police while neglecting to report the numerous times that shots had been fired at or near police officers during the riots (at night), as shown in a video posted earlier in the thread by c13. No reports were made on the night that where State Police was in control and banned the use of riot gear, resulting in police having to abandon the area after sustaining the highest number of officer injures yet. The media then called for more a "heavy-handed" approach to the riots, leaving thoughts of short-term memory loss and hypocrisy hanging in the air. There are also reports of the media downplaying the severity and nature of the riots, going as far as ignoring racial abuse and violence directed from the crowd towards various white people, there has been reports of people shouting "kill all whites, kill all cops", a (white) Fox Detroit reporter was also assaulted with a traffic cone (yes, really) while attempting to conduct an interview with a local (black) man that tried to prevent the crowd from looting a shop. The man was accused of "cooperating with the whites", then threatened. The bottom line is that only a few people know what actually happened, the police officer who shot and a handful of witnesses, the same witnesses whose statements were contradicted, indeed the media has been quiet about that, among other things. I feel for the family of the suspect, they have been under intense pressure from the media since the first few hours after the shooting, they most of all need peace and time to come to terms with the loss. It is disgusting to see the media use these people as their prize trophy. I also feel for the officer, knowing that your actions have not only resulted in the loss of a life, but being the target of local, national and worldwide media before they know the facts will without doubt be very troubling for him. Unfortunately, anything that will come of official investigations will be worthless, the police has already been found guilty in the court of public opinion.
  11. Another post from the officer I mentioned earlier.
  12. A (supposedly) police officer from a neighboring force has posted a very interesting blog post about the events on the tenth as he experienced it: http://dissonantwinstonsmith.wordpress.com/2014/08/15/dissonance/

  17. It's time for another preview, the Chargers has been abandoned until some issues with the 2011 model are fixed. However, I have been working on this for a few weeks: It's a Crown Victoria sporting a Whelen® Edge® Ultra Freedom® WeCan® Super-LED® configured with a total of eight modules (four front/four rear), Whelen® 700 series Super-LED® grille lights and Whelen® Avenger® AVNS Linear Super-LED® with synchronize feature deck lights®®™©. Present at the moment is a few bugs, I somehow manged to assign a lightsemissive material to a part of the lightbar lenses as well some slight issues regarding the lens texture itself, there's also an issue with the transparency of the lenses on both grille lights, all of which has to be fixed. The car has not yet been fitted with any additional exterior and interior equipment, spotlights, antennas, laptops and prisoner partitions are all subject to change.
  18. It would look a billion times better if they replaces the swooping curves at the front with a harder, more shoulder-like line, somewhere between the fronts on the 2011 and 2015 model would be perfect.
  19. The US, along with their Iraq War coalition partners, should absolutely do what they can to support the country they destabilized a few years ago, Iraq might otherwise end up in the same genocidal state it was in before the Iraq war started in 2003 which would be a huge set-back for the coalition. I don't mean the political aftermath, it is the unimportant part of the issue, the big issue is about accepting that the the deaths of US (along with Australian, British and Polish) soldiers and thousands of civilian casualties that occurred during Operation Iraqi Freedom (and the following occupation of Iraq) would, ultimately, have made no difference for Iraq, nor would the servicemen that did return alive, but with mental and physical traumas that will likely stay with them for life. I'm sure that someone knowledgeable on politics (Sam) might have a thing or two to say about how the political aftermath would be among the western community if Iraq were to undo itself.
  20. Yup, it's the old strobe Whelen Edge 9000M (>Dev part link), as opposed to the newer LED Whelen Edge Ultra Freedom(>Dev part link). I know of at least a few mods with both generations, BxBugs has a couple of releases with it over on GTAPoliceMods and I've seen a few on here as well, I've used it in one release so far, others have so too. Shameless self-promotion:
  21. We can put that one to rest as well: Nobody know if or how moddable the PC version will be so there's no point in speculating about anything until it is released.
  22. Least suprising announcement since Ubisoft announced Watch underscore Dogs's PC version. It's a shame they didn't release it on PC at first, the game was really let down by the sup-par current-gen console spec. Personally, I'll hold off until we know wehther it's another IV quality port and that it's moddable, I don't care much for going back for the storyline and the game didn't offer much beyond it.
  23. Wow, EA's servers are getting slammed, I can't even play Battlefield 4 because of it.
