Sure! I have zipped up a few test lines to give an idea of what we're going for. If this can work audio will be from several different people (a few are characters in LSPD: A New War) these test files are from the male version of Officer Steele. The plan is to have have people record these lines so there can be a variety of NPCs and player characters that can hopefully add more to the game.

The police audio lines cover LSPD, LSSD, BCSO, SAHP, and FIB. There is also audio for detective, SWAT, supervisor, and lieutenant role play options. For those the audio will say "Hey detective here's what we have" then the API developer can have a box appear after than audio is played so API developers can use that foundation to build their own stories or situations.

So not only is the audio meant to replace but it's also to add things if possible.

Sorry for the long wait on the updates!

I have 2 audio files for better officer audio. Currently I have 1 male and 1 female officer voiced lines for general dialogue and additional sounds for when the get hit, fall, are in combat, or in traffic.

There's more voice actors working to create more officers that will have audio for LSPD, LSDD, BCSO, SAHP, NOOSE, and FIB. Also there will be audio for addressing a Super Visor, Lieutenant, and Detective. For now there's a handful of American accents with 1 British Accent (female)

Question. Where does LSPDFR store the audio files for the officers. I found some audio files but the lines in there didn't seem to cover all of the lines I have. How does the code employ their audio?

Also the male and female officer I have audio for is a character I created for a story mode I'm getting audio recorded for called LSPD: A New War.  A tale of 3 cops going rogue that will fight corruption around San Andreas. There will be explosions, fire fights, crazy events, more explosions and an epic ending befitting GTA V (just need some more coders to help) but 15 voice actors so far (in the end there will be 38 voice actors) all bringing the characters alive for a story that I hope all you on the LSPDFR team and fans of LSDPFR will enjoy.

    Glad to hear it worked.
I will be fixing the issue permanently in future releases so this won't happen again.

I will certainly look into it, although this would be quite challenging to do due to the way GTA handles things being spawned too far away/out of view of the player. But its definitely something I will look at. Thank you 🙂

Ps. I merged your two replies for you.

Correct that is a feature I added.

Works similarly to the roadblocks, you place a waypoint down (the purple ones) and then request that backup and yes, multiple other units will spawn in and go there. Works with any callout, any event, any pursuit, anything. It simply requests code 3 backup 🙂

    All right!
I'm sending off lines today for Officers and Civilians.

lines will include professional dialogue for police officers. I've also have lines for different agencies. LSPD, LSSD, SAHP, BCSD, and FIB.
I've also have some lines in there to lay the ground work for mod developers to use so they can make their own situations that require SWAT, Detectives, Sergeants, Lieutenants, and FIB agents.
Also have a couple of lines for K-9 units just a couple. Things like "My dog indicates there's drugs in the car." "My dog sniffed around but didn't find anything."

Officers will have a few questions to ask peds. "Have you been drinking anything?" "Are you on medication?"
Officers will also have audio for police observations example "whoa, do see all of those open beer cans?"

There are lines for those moments you need to flash a badge "Whoa. I'm an officer the LSPD. Calm down." or "Federal Agent! Stand down!"

Civilians will have more responses as well. Some will be standard GTA V "fuck the police" others will be more grateful, some might be terrified. I'm thinking about doing some badge bunnies too. Not sure about that. Just thinking about it.

Backup messages will be added too. Officers will have more messages so they won't always seem to be at the little coffee shop around the corner.

If there's something you can think of let me know and I'll see if I can add to the list.

Now here's something you might not like. To streamline production I am not going to record every street, or area, for the officers. The dispatcher is going to do the bulk of all of that.

    Sorry quick update.

Doing auditions for more officers right now. Auditions to end around 12-19-20. I have lines for all of the agencies that I can think of.

Now, to expedite production, the officers will not be specific they won't say hey I can get a plate for a red, hauler. They say "Hey dispatch can you a plate check for this vehicle?"
I will meet people halfway and will give them numbers colors and vehicle categories.

Also I will not have them mention street names (again to cut down production time) dispatcher (which still has a few kinks i.e. missing locations) will have all of that information. And for the most part the dispatcher is working perfectly. Plugin developers will have the option of more calls and can use an option where the dispatcher doesn't say "uhhh" but rather uses keyboard typing.

Also included generic calls for Fire Fighter Role Play

    Hello again @Sam

So problem, 10 codes aren't universal. Do you think I should use LAPDs 10 codes since LSPD is based off them? 10-95 for the Agency in my town is "Officer Needs Assistance"
10-95 according to a chart I'm looking at means "Prisoner/Subject in custody"

Also I'm going to update the dispatcher and I'm getting in touch with a friend that does sound effects. That way the dispatcher will do something like this "1-Lincoln-18 we have a 10-31 in *keyboard typing* Strawberry"

For the dispatcher I'm going to get as much of the actual codes as I can get done. So someday when LSPDFR reaches that point you're going to have all the audio for the call outs you'll need.

I'm getting some more voice actors and actresses and I expect to get going on this soon.

No, silence will be fine as long as it is normal audio data. I said I think it could be the wave file header that is too long and hence partly being played. Make sure you do not include any extra metadata and see if that helps.

I suspect your wave file header is a bit bigger than usual and hence there is a clicking as parts of the header are being played. Normally it should be 44 or 46 bytes which LSPDFR accounts for, but if there is more metadata present it will ignore that.

So this is how it is with only the CRIMES folder before any of the extras or other replacements. He has mostly everything done from what we have talked about he is just uploading it so I can test it all in game. The issue with the extremely loud volume in game just had to do with a how he was exporting it but after talking and testing many different exports we got the sweetspot.

Looks like the fix is working. It was an encoding issue. So all of the vanilla LSPDFR callouts are done. We're going to knock out the callouts and audio for Assorted Callouts and Traffic Policer. Plugin authors are more than welcome to the resource files too to make new callouts that will cover traffic accidents, reports of fire, and air support missions. From transporting VIPs, to providing over watch, to transporting a SWAT team.

Okay dispatcher files complete did about 790+ files. Problem is this. While they sound great they're distorted and amplified in game. I'm looking into how to fix this.

Edit: and I'm open to suggestions on how to fix the problem too 🙂

So what's this dispatcher files for?
They replace the vanilla dispatcher and change some aspects so instead of hearing a bunch of uhhh's you'll have a mix between those and hearing background keyboard typing.
There's audio for auto collision calls, air support calls (complete with mission success or mission failed dialogue), have audio for fire calls (i.e citizens report large amounts of smoke) and new calls can be created as we go along.

But all that depends on the problem getting solved which I'm researching...hopefully I'll have more good news.

Oh and I have a nice group of voice actors for police officer voices.

I'm really liking what some of the developers are coming with. I don't know a single thing about coding other than I can't do it. However, I do know a tinly bit of something about editing audio. Having said that I decided to work on an audio resource for mod developers to use. To give you an idea of what I'm going for I'll include a couple of links that you can listen to. What my goals are is to have audio made that developers can use to make and improve their various mods.

Provided things go well the update tomorrow I plan on doing a story campaign. Give the officer character a name and hopefully present a good story from the perspective a cop in Los Santos.

Thank you for your interest in this project. I look forward to knowing your thoughts and if there some audio that can be done. Depending on the success of this project and it's usefulness as a resource, I'd like to include more voices for officers, suspects, and citizens. But in the end just clean audio that can hopefully be used.
