How can I customize my back up police cars?
It can be crazy confusing to mod GTA4 when you're new to it, so, starting from the top. - Get ELS V8 here: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> and follow the installation instructions. - Download Spark IV here: https://code.google.com/p/gtaivtools/downloads/list (this is what you'll use to install the cars) - Download cars you like the look of; make sure they are ELS enabled! (lots to choose from both here on LCPD:FR as well as lots of other websites) - Use a Youtube video to show you how to install the vehicles. I personally used this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Z-fipRLeAA I hope this helps

I never dare step into a sale. I know that by the end of it my bank account will be down to single figures.

Major Incident in Glasgow
I saw this pop up on my phone a few minutes ago - terribly sad news. Seeing people getting hit by vehicles is truly horrific, and it has certainly left me with a few scars. May those affected find peace in their family and friends. I will be interested to find out the cause of the crash, though I suspect it may be sometime before we get a picture of what happened.

Petition
I understand your point, but the psychology behind committing high-level crimes is extraordinarily complicated and can't be simply put down to a want to commit crime. What would the bill include? How would you help felons get back on track? How could it be implemented? I would offer my signature, but I live in the UK so it won't be much help. Nevertheless, it's nice to see a genuine attempt to help felons. Here in the UK we simply don't do enough to rehabilitate criminals - maybe if you get this through we can follow in your footsteps?

Wish me luck.
Don't worry about it and stay calm, panicking will only cause problems. They will most likely try to push you on a point you've made in your CV/resume, stand your ground and defend your actions. You need to show you are able to stand by a decision when pressured!

Police Officer in Liverpool dies after assault
A truly shocking attack and terribly sad. My thoughts go to his family and colleagues. Here's hoping the scum bags that attacked them are brought to justice.

Release. Yes or No
What will you lose from not releasing it? Nothing, apart from some advice on how to improve it perhaps. Either way, I like it and say Yes to release it.

Michigan House Passed Bill Allowing EMTs To Refuse Treatment To Gay People
This is truly ridiculous. Here I was thinking the world was making progress towards being acceptive of all sexualities... If someone needs urgent help, at no point should the fact that they are different to you make you stop treatment. I just hope that when an EMT is called to a injured person who is an LGBT, they have the sense to help them and not just leave them there. I find this bill truly disgraceful, and I'm disgusted at the fact that it was passed.

Starting a video thread of my work
Some of those intersections must be a nightmare to cross when on emergency response - I'm glad I'm watching and not doing! Do you have to acquire your supervisor/commanders permission to upload these to youtube? For me, if I want to upload a video from when on duty it needs to go through a number of people to approve it.

Having asked around I believe it to be Naroto (I don't know if that's the right spelling).

Any suggestions for anime gifts?
With Christmas fast approaching and people getting into the mood, we have a secret santa programme running at work. I've received a person who I know is a fan of anime. I know nothing about anime, and need some suggestions as to what to get him. I have just a couple of requirements that the gift should meet: - No more than £7 - Can't be big (no posters or that stuff) Sorry if these requirements make suggesting gifts tough, but as I say, I know nowt about anime. Thanks a bunch in advance.

just a suggestion
GTA is a horrible game to mod. Unfortunately there's no easy (if any) way around it. I just hope V will be a more mod friendly version.

Firetrucks responding too fast?
Emergency service personnel receive extensive training on response driving (lights & sirens). If I respond to a call of a burglary I am automatically allowed to exceed the speed limit by 30mph (50kph?), going faster than that it is up to me to justify. How much do those sky-lifts weigh? I'd imagine 5 tonnes or so - either way they're not particularly manoeuvrable. When responding to a call the driver has to drive with 'appropriate speed'. In the first situation the road was fairly clear, with good road conditions so the driver could justify the speed. Nonetheless it was somewhat careless to go round a corner and veer onto the wrong side of the road - you're going to help people, why kill someone on the way? The second can't be justified. What that driver of the sky-lift did, in my eyes, was entirely illegal (in UK response law/guidelines anyway). Approaching a junction you should reduce speed so you can stop if you have to. The junction the truck went through was congested and busy making it even more dangerous. Ultimately, it's up to the driver of the emergency vehicle to make decisions on speed - in such a high pressure situation it's easy to make the wrong decision. EDIT: All of this relates to UK law, US State will probably be different.

If you could own any car...
I'm a huge fan of Land Rover Defenders, and ever since my dad got one to keep him busy in retirement, the urge to get one has got stronger. My ideal one would be the Snatch: http://www.mod-sales.com/direct/vehicle/,37,/44385/Land_Rover.htm but I get the feeling my boss wouldn't be too happy about that one, so probably a really nice and new 110.

concern
As a general rule, I don't download anything from any website that I consider to be 'dodgy' - it's generally pretty easy to find those ones. It would be best to get a paid subscription to an Anti-Virus and have it immediately scan your PC. Alternatively: http://www.iobit.com/advancedsystemcareper.html offers limited download protection but does a good job of scanning afterwards.

Scottish Independence Referendum
It's not technically independence. The only reason that word has been used is to rally support for the referendum. If Scotland votes 'Yes' then they will still receive a substantial amount of support from the English government including that of stabilising their economy, receiving 'aid' etc. The main reason, in my eyes that this has been called, is that Alex Salmond wants a guarantee that he will be re-elected for the next term and the ability to levy taxes more than 1% per £ in theory making the Scottish government many more billions than they currently do. I'm totally unbiased to this referendum as I think the Scottish have every right to deny devolved power to the English, however, Scotland will not survive with the English, Welsh and Northern Irish. I remember reading somewhere that Scotland would become one of the most poverty-ridden countries in Europe if they gained 'Independence'. Whatever your view may be, this should be very interesting and I look forward to the further debates on the topic.
