Don't be nervous! I have ridden 7-9 times (Explorers) It is a great training experience. Be sure to bring money for food or drinks. Make conversations with the Deputy, prefferably about law enforcement. Tell the Deputy it is your first time riding. Riding is one of the reasons i joined explorers, and It is still one of the best things! Just because you don't see an old lady strapped with a .45 to her hip doesn't mean little old women don't pack heat. Lots of women carry in their purses or satchels. Plus, it doesn't say what she did to provoke the officers. It says here that she "had a lengthy arrest record, including assault, drunk driving, marijuana possession, and violating of a restraining order". It is safe to say she could have tried to assault the officers.

All of the cops in my opinion were doing the right thing by pulling him out and taking him to the ground ( except for the kicking guy ), they don't know that he is in shock. They could think that he was intoxicated or on drugs. But the cop who kicked him deserves to be fired or even arrested. The guy had six other cops on him, he didn't need a kick in the face.
