This post is mainly towards those on this forum who are either police officers or know a lot about police officers. I have a few general questions that I hope the LCPDFR community can turn into a discussion(I really love posting questions here and reading the different perspectives on things) 1- What are the different values and virtues a person would need to become a police officer? Does it depend on the position in the department? 2-What are certain studies/majors/degree that you can study and graduate with to help you become a better candidate in application times 3-Are certain childhood upbringings(wealthy, middle class, poor, ghetto etc) crucial in developing the ambition/ want to become a police officer. For example, I have no idea why I have always wanted to become a cop, but as I get older I realize I want to be a leader in the community. One who can help many and be looked up to by kids. I want to make a difference by taking away those who do not do good for the community 4-As a police officer, what is the primary goal? What criminals do you focus on taking in the most? Does you degree in college/highschool or whatever increase/decrease your chance to get into certain divisions? beckugan1

Also, Chief of Police is an elected official that listens to the communities needs and attempts to act accordingly. Also, the Chief runs the PD

cannot decide to buy for PS3 or Xbox. Recnetly switched to Xbox but got a lot of good clan buddies from the good ol days on PS3

1.0.7.0 is the only way to get LCPDFR to work(although some people have gotten it to work) Try a fresh install of your game( keep all your current files) and do not update it and see if it lags. If it doesnt lag without patch, then it is your computer and the patch combined. If it does lag, then it is your computer. After that, put your files back in and just play as usual.

Could you assist me in finding one of these pirate ships via PM? My pirate ship downloaded half way and then froze up and sank like a b$%ch

I did that. However, when I go into the game, it still doesnt activate as ELS-H. And yes it is an ELS-H vehicle. Any help?

What is the proper name for like the shading of the text? Liek dark to light blue in one letter? I need to search it on their forums but do not know what it is called.

Could you link me to the plugins? Do they add like text outline or shading or anything like that??

Are you patched to GTAIV 1.0.7.0 or??? Also, do you have dsound.dll or scripthook.net installed???

I had my game on a Toshiba and it barely ran. I switched over to my newer Gateway and it works wonders :D 1.0.7.0 is very unstable and causes problems for laptops that barely meet game requirements.

Open world?? Wonder if they are going to make it more open than GTAIV. Like maybe add a little Red Dead Redemption into that. Where you stumble on missions by roaming around the world.

I dont mean to go off topic but I dont live in NY and never understood these light bars. If you look at the photo, the lights arent any higher than the actualy lightbar. Only the spotlights. What is the point of it??

Okay quick question, are all of you guys who have posted currently serving in the department you posted or are some of you just showing off your local departments?? Just curious because if all of you actually work in law enforcement thats pretty cooooool. :D

Yeah. I am sure you have heard about some of the stuff that goes on there. As a kid, I always used to imagine myself in different departments(OCSD, SDPD, LAPD, AST, CBP...) but for some reason the whole open desert thing never fit in. Plus that would be scary being by yourself out there. Best of luck and whatever you do STAY SAFE.

Yeah, fortunately the officer made a full recovery. The recruit that attempted to keep control did a pretty good job. Especially when he politely asked people to step back and when they didnt react he used a more forceful tone. Also, I am planning on joining the force in So-Cal in a few years and am definitely cautious. Heck, Im thinking about the SDPD but who knows what itll be like in a few years with the cartel violence starting to spill over. Yikes

This is a video from August of 2011. A while back but shows the harsh reality of policing in the USA. Lots of guns in the streets THERE IS BLOOD AND OTHER GORY FOOTAGE IN PARTS OF THIS VIDEO. WATCH AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION. Background info CALL: A 911 call came in to dispatch about a shooting. A manhad killed his 1yr old daughter and his mother in-law. ON SCENE INFO: Police respond. Officer Slocum and Officer McFarland respond. Slocum is an FTO and McFarland is a recruit on his field training. Upon arriving, there is an officer involved shooting where SLocum is shot in the head. The man then kills himself and sets fire to the house For those of you who will say that the response is to long please realize police did not know whether the shooter was dead or waiting for more officers to arrive. In my opinion, the recruit did an amazing job for not having any experience in the field. Finally, there are helicopters called in to fight the fire.
