  1. I really hope someone could cook up realistic callouts. Generally in my area PD is almost always first on scene for a fire/ems call. The only times this wasnt the case was when I was operating in the Major Metro areas. Even then most of the time they at least showed up eventually. I would love something like a vehicle fire callout where it auto dispatches fire ems and you respond as PD. Same concept with a structure fire.
  2. I actually like the first one. The second 2 are pretty meh. Thing is I would rather departments be different and have some form of self identity then plan ass black and white, all black or all white. Police cars should be eye catching their job is to be visible. Presence patrols mean absolutely nothing if people don't see or notice you which is the first part of proactive policing. Ghost cars are great for the second part. Catching the people watching for the visible cars only. Without the first the second isn't going to be nearly as effective. The second part of this is the reason most cars are going the route of the FHP cruiser is to increase visibility from nearly all angles. Its why everything is reflective. Its also why all Ambulance and Fire Trucks have to put those ugly ass chevrons on all their new equipment. Visibility ideally increases surviving the roads. Now with all that said the Chicago Pattern is just as ugly as the previous one. The only reason to have the Unit Number so plainly visible is for the increase in recordings. Its CYA for the department to crucify their guys if they fuck up.
  3. It depends on how they have their lights setup. If they use ELS Emissive mapping and textures you can use this file I got from Candice to do the editting.
  4. I agree with this. While its nice to have back up closer to really drains resources as just about everything you do has 20 units responding to it.
I helped with some of the testing on this. Handling still isn't perfect but its the best we could do without a ton of guess and check work. Some videos from the testing phases linked below.
  5. No what I mean is when you see me turn the truck you can see the grey backing of the lighting. Even after I installed your caracals the actual emssive seems to be sitting above the lights.
  6. Any idea how to fix the rotatory lighting? Derp just noticed I am missing something. So I installed your caracols and els file and it still seems like the rotator emissive is sitting too high.
  7. Side note you changed the layout apparently and now every skin is broken.
  8. Basically. Like I said legally the C& D letter is more of a request at this point because it wouldn't stand up in court. No one wants to deal with it though. So they pull the content and show that its gone to appease the person who sent it. The only way a C&D letter would hold up is if they could prove they were losing money or you were making money. Blizzard can cry about a private server that people play on because its subscriptions they lose. The biggest issue is its not worth hiring a lawyer and telling them to pound sand. That and considering the majority around here seem to either be L&O of some form or pro- L&O so generally we do not want to make a department look bad. Even if they are being fucktards in this case.
  9. Legally as long as your not selling the likeness there is very little they can do about it.
  10. The one Riot call I think was in the swat callouts. In saying that it almost always turned into a blood bath for me.
  11. His point is in the visibility spectrum Amber/ yellow is more middle of the line then both red and blue(The 2 extremes in light waves) As such people tend to perceive it quicker.
  12. The standards are in most states that you have to have at least 2 visible colors in your patterns. Reason being is that some people can be color blind and still able to legally drive. Its why ambulances and firetrucks where traditionally you see predominately red setups have red white in the front and red amber in the back generally. I have actually see trucks that had red amber and green on the back because the more visible colors theoretically the easier you are to see. Also why they started that Chevron crap and reflective decals everywhere.
  13. This is the Green setup Candice made(FSQ1) for me if you have any interest. I copy pasted the editing for the liberty lights from a blue/green setup.
The model is well done. While I am not necessarily sold on the default skins Candice has for it they are well done. They just don't match my tastes. When I was having issues with my lighting changes Candice walked me through them a bit. Then after seeing my results she helped fix what I messed up. This has become my new standard ambulance. I redid her main livery to black until I get a good red/black skin going. With Red and Green Lights to Match my Engine and Tahoe
  14. My Fire Department trucks I use can be found here with links to where I got them all. Also already got the clear glass issue fixed on the squad. It has its own video elsewhere. As for my PD I am currently still rocking the Halloween pack Most of my vehicles are from the downloads those skins work on.
  15. Honestly the Ambulance is ok. I need to wait for a decent skin or 2 before I replace my current ambulance. What I absolutely love though is the ELS lighting file you included.
  16. The only counter argument to that I have is that were he to get the death penalty it would still be years before he was actually put to death. Feds might need to look into a clause like Texas if there is enough proof and witnesses you do not get to have 20 appeals and wait 10 years. You go to the front of the line. At which point your charge every Terrorist/active shooter under federal law. I doubt that would happen though.
  17. I dont disagree. Then again you and I both know that isnt how we work. Hell we as a people more then likely never directly effected this guy other then what he has seen in hollywood movies. It would amaze you the amount of these "Terrorists" had no direct bad connections to the western world. Its something like a 60-40 split. Poorly educated, young angry people are too easy to indoctrinate. Look at our local gang issues for prime examples.
  18. Well you know hard life. Young impressionable minds and an easy target to point to and blame for all your problems. The 3 key ingredients to a terrorist/freedom fighter(Subjective)
  19. Most of the good ones I have seen are bought. There were couple of guys that were teasing and working on some but I haven't seen anything.
  20. I agree and disagree. We need to do something to deal with the already established career criminals. The problem I really see if we treat everyone the same. Whether you did something stupid and made a mistake and ended up in jail or you have been breaking the law since you were 12 with gang XYZ. The guy that made a mistake will still struggle to get a job once he gets out and is more likely to turn back to crime now to make ends meet. The other guy isnt likely to change even when you present other options. We need to approach this from 3 angles: 1. We need to figure out a way to hinder gang recruitment. This should limit the amount of career criminals going into the system. 2. We need to develop programs to better rehab the people that are not career criminals or life time in jail types. Ideally less of the hard time jail more of a schoolhouse type rehab with access to medical and counseling. Figure out the why and attempt to fix it. 3. For the ones that just can not return to "normal" society we probably should look at changing how we jail them. Think more or less exporting them to an island provide them what they need and let them figure shit out themselves. This part is iffy since you essentially remove their rights. Biggest problem I see is that this is also likely to lead to guys that know they cant afford to get caught attempting to go out in a blaze of glory.
  21. Biggest issue I see is even with him being harder on his inmates they still had the same frequent flyer rate. As horrible as his jail was to them they still went back to crime and ended up back there.
