This is something that didn't bug me before and still doesn't bug me. But at the same time the idea is just simply great. It's not a must- have for me but it is nice to have. 5/5 for effort, idea, and execution.
Awesome. No problems, so nothing I can say, the mod speaks for itself. Now go make a LSPD pack with similar lights before the community goes into a riot. Or else.
They need to make a "Mod of the Month/ Year/ Week" awards, and this would certainly be on the shortlist, if not the winner! Great work Albo!
  9. ^See above because apparently I suck at Multi- quoting. It just doesn't work for me.
  10. There's a mod here called Better Backup/ Advanced Backup/Added Backup or something like that, it's by PNWParksFan. Not only does it let you customize weapon loadouts but you can change peds, cars, response areas specifically (as in Vinewood Hills gets you Vehicle A but next door in Rockford Hills you get Vehicle B) and set the way Code 2 Backup responds- lights off, lights on, or lights turned on at scene. It's really cool and allows for more customized backup (Oh yeah, that's the name, Custom Backup) although it requires a bit of patience at the beginning when you set stuff up. I have a Watch_Dogs police response setup because I personally prefer Watch_Dogs's police weapons choices over GTA V's and I'm sure it's not too hard to set up a British- themed one.
  11. (Note: I'm pretty sure this has been asked before but a search doesn't reveal anything... and I'm not sure where to go to) So as the title suggests, I'd like to know how I would begin modding the game. What should I learn? What should I know? Anything specific or what? (Assume that I have some understanding of coding, and how scripts and stuff work.) This is all a hypothetical situation (although I'm mostly asking this because I want to become a modder and not just one of those people who go around, being lazy and asking that someone make X or Y mod for them specifically).
  12. I didn't know about any updated gameconfig.xml files, as I thought RDE was compatible with "all future GTA V updates". Thanks, I'll look into this.
  13. So a few minutes ago I got this crash after installing a few OpenIV packages (RDE, EUP, and RDE LSPDFR addon) This only ever happens when I have OpenIV packages, but I'm not sure if OpenIV's causing it, the game's causing it, or if Rage or Scripthook is causing it. All I can understand is that a crash happened.
  14. This is combined with the RDE mod (Realism Dispatch Enhanced) which is 100% compatible (to the best of my knowledge) with LSPDFR 0.3 with a backup.xml edit. RDE spawns patrols driving around, not too frequently but yet not too rare, in my opinion, just right.
All mods are great if they work and have a purpose, but this is just amazing! One suggestion though: I feel it is really weird to have this "MimicMe" thing. If it's possible, could you have the player set a waypoint so that the vehicle will pull over at the waypoint? It feels more natural as I'm an American, and I have never seen an American police officer pull someone over from the front. It's just something we don't do on this side of the Pond (to put it in English terms).
  15. Well... install version 617, the latest version of GTA V... And if you have done that already, then I don't know what to tell you. And if you can't install a new version then yours is likely cracked, and Rage nor LSPDFR supports cracked games.
  16. One of the most common ones is police5 (police gresley). sheriff3 gives the sheriff interceptor, if I'm not mistaken, and highwaycar1,2,and 3 give the highway patrol buffalo, stanier, and gresley respectively. If you have the Blaine County SO addon, addsheriff is the series for the LSSD and sheriff is for the BCSO.
Awesome! Please update; I'd like to have the thing based off real roleplay clans, say, you could write someone up, put it in the computer, and when someone else searches that name up, the fact that they got written up actually appears! That would be cool but I'm going to guess that's too much work. Otherwise, great!
  17. Here's the deal: When you create a shortcut, it will ask for the file location of the thing you want to make a shortcut from. Yes, there are two GTA.exe's (or whatever it's called) now, but the file paths are different, distinguishing them. Since the GTA folder includes the gta.exe, you are copying the whole game. So you would have two instances of the game on your computer. So if you launch a shortcut that links to the modded one, you get the modded version (however this won't have any Rage mods, that's why you run Rage with rage.exe), and if you launch a shortcut to the vanilla one, you get the game files that are unmodded. So you are right.
  18. Yes, it is true. However one copy of the game is only 60 GB, resulting in a total of around 120 GB, nowhere near as much as the 200+ GB you mentioned. If you have a 500 GB hard drive and don't have an excessive amount of files or games that you don't use, you should be okay. The thing is you want to keep only the things you need, things you will or likely will need soon, and the things you actually want and use on your computer. Before you install LSPDFR, copy the whole of the original game files over to another file, and make only a shortcut for the one you want to keep clean, then make a shortcut later to Rage when you want to use the modded one. But don't copy over, it'll take an hour every time. Best waste a single hour on making two copies.
