ELS Controller Compatibility and Gallery Videos
Suggestions about ELS don't go in this section, they go in Development Suggestions and Requests, to which I am moving this thread (as the replies so far are entirely about the ELS stuff). If you want to suggest a gallery change, please make a separate thread back in Website Support and Suggestions, with just the gallery suggestion.

Model Editing?
It's possible, but not in Zmodeler. Ped modeling uses 3ds max and openFormats, not Zmodeler (which is really only used for cars; 3ds max is a far superior program, but openFormats doesn't work for cars). What I would do would actually be to import the fatcop, whose belt has all the parts separated (making it very very convenient to assemble police gear out of). That's assuming that Zmodeler hasn't somehow added wdd export since I last checked, but 3ds max is better software anyways.

Installing GTA4: Download from steam, or use GTA4 CDs?
If you already own it, use the disks - it's free to install the version you already own, and costs money to buy it again.

New to making models. I need some help with an error with textures..
Cool it. Everyone starts somewhere; not everyone knows what you consider obvious.

Racist murderer
If he was in fact frozen (like, cryogenically preserved) back in the 1950s, and thawed out now, maybe. Otherwise, no, he's an utter asshole, the fact that it was acceptable is a bad thing, and the notion that someone in his forties is "set in his ways" is frankly ridiculous. While 1) and 2) make sense, I'm curious how not accepting a black attorney makes him a murderer.

Racist murderer
Wait, a murderer isn't a good person? That's really surprising, because murder is traditionally so closely associated with pleasant, upstanding fellows.

Question
You can't get GTA IV on your Mac unless you run Windows on a separate partition or a VM, so there's not even anything to mod without it.

help
Moved to proper section. It depends entirely on what kind of mod you're trying to make.

Gang put's hit on NJ cops
Locking for now to sort some things out. Your regularly scheduled thread will be back shortly. . . . Okay, various off-topic and flamey posts have been hidden. References to them have been snipped. Everyone needs to just calm down. Thread re-opened; if it continues to be too hot in here, it'll be locked for good.

Gang put's hit on NJ cops
No, you can't conceal an MP5 on your person. It is a large rigid object, which *will* show. Showing pictures of firearms carried by Mexican cartels, which operate in an environment that is entirely different from any American gang, is not solid arguing. And lastly, national gangs don't want to get in fights with the police. Gang leadership generally hates gang wars - it's expensive, vastly decreases revenue (people don't like to buy things when they can get shot for it), and results in those gang leaders getting sent to prison and/or shot dead. Gang wars are started by the low-level people, not higher-ups. Furthermore, gangs in the US have no use for heavy-grade weapons. If you haven't noticed, the world isn't GTA. Gangs do not fight outright wars. Gang violence is, as a rule, small-scale. It's different in other countries, where gangs are full-scale paramilitary organizations, which can and do take on law enforcement. But that does not happen in the US, because gangs can't take on law enforcement. By the way: Training cuts more in favor of police than gangs. Police tend to have poor marksmanship, as a group, but gang members have even worse marksmanship. Gangs don't have the whole "academy" system; there is no mandatory curriculum.

Gang put's hit on NJ cops
You cannot sue the United States of America unless the United States consents to suit. There are a few exceptions where the US has agreed by statute that it can be sued, but outside of those, you cannot file a lawsuit against the federal government (this also applies to state governments, with somewhat more exceptions and the big difference that the US can sue a state). You can go for injunctions where a government policy has hurt you in particular, but that's also somewhat restricted. The United States House of Representatives is a different matter - while you have no standing to sue to get the government to enforce the law (unless the law in question specifically states that, or the law has a particularly substantial impact on you), the House of Representatives *does* generally have such standing. No, the last time wasn't Kent State. The last time federal troops (the federalized California National Guard, as well as parts of the 1st Marine Division) was the LA riots in 1992. More recently, during Hurricane Katrina, the Louisiana National Guard performed law enforcement duties. It was not a "different time". The military is absolutely sent in if nothing else will maintain order; it does not take a nationwide thing, and while it does take a decently large scale (and timeframe; it takes time to deploy troops), people in this thread are talking about an all-out war between gangs and police. If police are losing control of an area, the military would be called out. It's as simple as that.

The FBI has SWAT teams. They are very highly trained (one thing the feds have a lot more of than local agencies is resources). Also, about the military: They absolutely can be called out to restore order. No, they aren't called for shootouts - a 20 person shootout will be easily contained by the hundreds of cops who arrive. But if there were an all-out breakdown in order, the military would be called out, both National Guard and federal troops (and don't bother bringing up Posse Comitatus - federal forces can be brought in to put down insurrections and restore order, and have been used for exactly that purpose in riots). Given that a gang would lose a war, they have nothing to gain from trying to start one. Wars are not good for making money, and losing them is bad all around.

MH17 Shot Down Over Ukraine
A shootdown is not really a reflection on the airline in question.

Gang put's hit on NJ cops
Not likely. Rifles are even worse choices there, because someone carrying a rifle on the streets of a big city is likely to be under immediate suspicion, and that's just about the worst thing for a criminal. Gangs rarely plan for actual all-out war (it's not exactly good for business), and little bits of violence are much easier with concealed pistols. Most of those people would be gang members -- if there were an all-out war, you'd see the National Guard go in. Armor piercing ammunition is not widely available (it's much worse than hollowpoint against unarmored targets), and would not be a good choice for a gang member (who mostly isn't attacking heavily armored targets). Furthermore, it would be insane for the gang to do that -- you're not making any money in an all-out war, and you will not win (since if you looked like you were going to win, you'd start facing trained infantry).

Gang put's hit on NJ cops
No, gangs don't have better guns than police. For one thing, police have much better access to rifles -- criminals do not, as a rule, use rifles (you can't really conceal them), and police don't have to worry about concealing their guns.

Possible to add in 3rd type of patrol car?
There are scripts that will let it spawn in traffic with cops.

GTA V’s release date for the PC finally been leaked?
Currencies, schmurrencies. Amazon lists all versions as shipping December 31. However, there is literally a 0 percent chance they will delay release till then - that would be among the worst business decisions Rockstar could possibly make (you release big games *before* the holidays, not after). It's probably Amazon's generic Q4 2014 preorder date (as anything released Q4 2014 will ship by then, and they'd rather post a late date and beat it than miss an early date).

GTA V’s release date for the PC finally been leaked?
Rockstar lists the preorder price as $60. Anything lower is unlikely to be correct.

MH17 Shot Down Over Ukraine
El Al has countermeasures as well, for the obvious reason.

ELS suggestion
Please don't resurrect ancient threads. Post split into a new thread. To respond: This depends entirely on how the car is set up. For instance, you could make PRML just be lights on the front of the lightbar, and SECL on the back.

LSPDFR Wish/ Want List
Almost certainly never happening. LCPDFR keeps content mods to an absolute minimum -- the only one it includes, in fact, is the Taser (which simply did not exist in any form in the original game).
-
NYPD PAL STICKER?
That's exactly the same as the sticker on the sole image you've posted to tell someone what you're looking for.
-
Flashlight
The taser on modded ped belts *isn't* usable. LCPDFR added a taser model where none existed before, and *that* is usable, but it isn't actually part of the ped model - it's a separate object, attached to the ped's midsection, which is removed when you draw it (at which point IV makes one appear in your ped's hand) and replaced when you put it away. In contrast, flashlights on ped belts are modeled in, and can't be moved. It also doesn't mesh well with IV's optimized-for-guns holding animations.

My game does not stop crashing
I've taken the liberty of putting your logs in spoiler tags; in the future, with large log files like that, please use spoiler tags ([ spoiler ]...logs...[ /spoiler ], but without spaces in the tags) or attach the log to the post. As you can see, LCPDFR.log tends to be rather long, and takes up a LOT of vertical space. Thanks.
