I might have grown someone tone-deaf as result of years of listening and watching (and yes participating) in our toxic political and social environment, but I think you have to look beyond what people are saying to decipher what they mean. And I don't see the riots. There have been few incidents of violence, no matter the noise chatter. People are not celebrating in the streets. We haven't seen more violence. I think police are apt at distinguishing between frustrated and misguided free speech, and violent intent. That's one reason all hell hasn't broken loose. We have certainly seen improvements in a number of local police departments around the country. Speaking for my own area, there is better training, and openness between both sides. I also think the shooting took America, and the protestors to the dark side, an extreme that many at least in the media are speaking out against, and more importantly having to address, not pretend its unthinkable. Will realize rational national conversation? I have less confidence there. There are just too many opportunities, and our political and social system, is so toxic, I fear we are paralyzed.

Actually, it looks like the Baltimore unrest after the Freddie Gray incident. Not to defend it, (I thoroughly enjoyed the mom putting the beating one kid out there) the unrest stemmed in part from a poor relationship between police and the community they served. Baltimore ended up settling with Freddie Gray's family. The taxpayers paid out more than $5 million dollars. This is on top the $5 million it had already paid over the past several years for something like 100 incidents of excessive force. Going back further toward the beginning of the BlackLivesMatter social media thing, the Justice Department released a rather damning report against the Ferguson Police Department. Despite the fact, that the shooting that initiated the investigation was determined to be justified. There are legitimate grievances behind these protests. Police departments that are not prepared, particularly in a post-Ferguson era, place a lot of lives. This is not to defend the rhetoric. Perhaps I've grown tone-deaf in what has become a very toxic political and social environment, but I don't think many of the people protesting wanted what happened. If we are going to throw blame, I'm sure we can pretty much throw a stick at whatever direction we like, and justifiably smack someone. Did the BlackLivesMatter (looking at those that popped off at mouth) and the majority of those protesting want this ? Did those who believe in the Right to bear arms want this? Did the two political parties that have our nation divided want this? I think the resounding answer is no. I believe the only one that really wanted this is Micah Xavier Johnson. We as a society is still here to correct our errors if we choose to.

I think the protest and the shooting were separate. The suspect told the negotiator he was upset about Black Lives Matter, the two recent police shootings of black men, white people, and police. He also stated he was acting alone and was affiliated with no one. I think once you realize there is a problem, you can't ignore it because of the way people complain, particularly if it is non-violent. The BLM may be disrespectful, and misguided, but at its core have legitimate grievances that have to be addressed, not ignored or rationalized. There have been enough studies (you can look them up) to show statistically minorities are more likely to be searched, ticketed, arrested, and harshly punished. There are issues within those communities that help give rise to those statics, which is one reason why I don't support BLM. However, it doesn't erase the other side of the equation. Police departments have to do a better job, particularly in this post-Ferguson digital age, where rumor moves at a pace fact struggles to keep up with. Dallas Police Department is known as one of the more progressive departments, with a very good pro-community police policy. It showed during and after the shooting. They were responding to a non-violent protests, and were ambushed. Once the threat was removed they de-escalated, where other departments might have taken a diffferent, more counter-productive route.

There are problems with our judicial system that should cause concern among the citizenry. Our police force is increasingly being militarized, and given unchecked power. Policies that "declare war" on the domestic population (such as the war on drugs, crime, and even terrorism) should be met deep skepticism. Police officers, and indeed all officers of the court, should not be treated as though they are a breed above the people they are suppose to serve. We have unlimited pool of competent, dedicated above corruption and error. This goes beyond deadly force. Minorities in the US have a legitimate reason to feel targeted by the police. Statically, they are more likely to be ticketed, searched, convicted, and given harsher sentences. This is not to say there are statistical justifications. However, we need better training, and system that gives prosecution more resources than defense. We also we to limit the power and influence of police unions. When it comes to the Black Lives Matter Movement, while we should be concerned with officer involved shootings (of anyone), I would remind them that black-on-black crime is a major issue. We need people willing to march for better education, healthcare, and against crime. These are issues that effect us all, and benefit it everyone. The mass murder of the police officers in Dallas was a heinous crime, perpetrated by at least one racist moron. There was no justification, and IMHO, rationale for it, beyond the need of some to kill and destroy. It left me with more concern about where we're headed.

Keep Calm - Reduce AI panic attacks when shots are fired
I turned off peds calm and reduced the ped search radius to 25. That seemed to really help improve performance. For some reason, turning off CalmPed alone didn't help. I increased the ped search radius to 50 with CalmPed off, and performance declined. Went back to 25, and things were pretty smooth. I got into big firefight with the Ballers. The peds freaked (should have anyway, IT WAS GOING DOWN). Cars kept calm, which was important because I was using my car for cover. No one ran me over, and there was a line.

Keep Calm - Reduce AI panic attacks when shots are fired
I saw a performance drop as well, and removed. I tried turning off the pedestrian option, and reducing the radius to 100. Things were still pretty choppy. I'll try it again. Edit: Tried a reboot and reinstall mod. That didn't work. The framerate seems to really drop in the populated areas. Head out to Blaine County, around Harmony and everything is fine.

Brexit
I think if the results were flipped, we'd just see the other side pissed and calling for another referendum. As for the remorse, I blame that in part on the British government, and Brexit, and circumstances. There is little in way of substance about the exact exit strategy. The UK will have to negotiate the agreements and contracts. The British position isn't exactly better. And there are few people out there, particularly in the media, offering sound reassurance. There is just reason for pause. However, there is no turning. The losing side shouldn't be so remorseful, and look to move forward and ensure a voice in the process that has set forward. That is just my American take. I should also note, the United States should try not to meddle too much. My fear is we, like others, will try to take advantage of the situation.

Brexit
Again, it will take tremendous leadership to renegotiate those treaties, and Great Britain face enormous obstacles. Failure to succeed could leave the UK kind of like a non-voting member.

I see many reasons for concern. Great Britain could very well find itself in even less control of event that impact the lives of its population. The country faces a monumental task of reviewing and renegotiating treaties with the remaining EU, who could very well be resentful at what they see as abandonment. There is already talk by some in Brussels of making sure the UK pays a heavy cost for exiting. Businesses may also seek to punish Great Britain for what they see as encouraging a weaker market. This could mean more jobs to other European countries. And don't get me started if leaving the EU becomes a trend. Inevitable or not, a great burden will be placed on at the feet at the first country to leave, particularly given how important she was to begin with. Mind you, I'm not a fan of the European Union. And I think a lot is still speculation. However, from the US, I think Great Britain has chosen a very difficult course that will require tremendous leadership and goodwill. I personally would like to see the focus return to internationalism, rather than nationalism. I don't believe Great Britain has abandoned core values and principles that rise to its decision to join the EU in the first. Those should survive and be the roadmap for the way forward. I also personally need to keep reminding myself this is about the UK and not the US election. I have very little confidence in my own government. And the presidential election isn't helping. One reason I initially gasp when the UK election was announced is because Donald Trump supported leave.

I turned off the ambient events because it looked like the carjacking event caused LSPDFR to crash. The other issue is deals with the added police (other than police2, etc) cars spawning during the burglary call. When I exited the location after arresting the suspect, everything stayed blacked (and that circle kept turning). I wondered if the script knows to spawn custom named cars. For example: I have the 2016 FPIU named "explorer". Only happened once. I'll experiment more. That said, this has been one of my favorite callout packs since you released it. Assault is definitely more fun now I can get everyone out of the street and just talk to them.
