  1. Is there a way to tell which siren goes where with vehicles like Bxbugs? Just clicking them on and off in OpenIV doesn't work.
  2. @flwpheonix Thanks for that explanation. It was very informative and simple. I was really stuck on how to transfer the binary into appropriate format. Now I know.
  3. This is a custom sirensetting I came up with for Black Jesus' BCSO FPIU. This is just a test for those who might be interested in seeing what everyone is talking about. Props to @thegreathah for his custom carols.ymt, which I used as a base, @flwpheonix for providing the pattern code (I still don't understand it), and of course @BlackJesus for the model. Installation 1. OpenIV and navigate to update > update.rph > x64 > data and backup carols.ymt somewhere on your computer. 2. Open carols.ymt with Notepad++ and scroll down to Sirens <id value "1">. You can use search and find police/sheriff 3. Click and create a space just above (by hitting enter) <Item> <id value="1"/> or above another <id value> 4. Copy & Paste the custom sirensetting below in space created 5. Save. 6. Drag saved carols.ymt into update > update.rph > x64 > data using OpenIV 7. Go to the carvariation file used for Black Jesus' FPIU and change the Sirensetting to "18" 8. Load Game and spawn car. You should note a change in pattern and speed, which is more realistic IMHO sirensetting18.txt
  4. That would be great. Its a very nice model.
  5. @flwpheonix, I meant the sirens aren't numbered in the carols.ymt file. You have to carrying edit the ones you want. I used your patterns on at @LVMPDFAN 2016 Nevada Charger in a custom sirensetting (id 17) and it came out very nice.
  6. I'll give these a try. Thanks. Sirens aren't numbered, so you to be very mindful when editing. Notepad++ helps.
  7. Rather than custom carols.ymt, wouldn't be easier for people to copy and paste a custom id value? Also is there a way to find out what sirens were set on a particular vehicle, beyond trial and error? I'm trying to edit Hurks' 2016 charger. I created a new ID (Sirensetting 16), and have some of the lights going the way I want, but others aren't. I know zmodeler3 is an option, but most vehicles are locked.
  8. @Techengageunderstood. Thanks for explaining.
  9. Is it possible to edit Police 1 to play a pattern of On,On,Off On,On,Off. Right now they are On,Off,On,Off,On,Off. The alternation in pattern with proper speed would greatly enhance all lights, giving them a strobe-like effect (at least up close) with or without coronas. Its a great mod by the way. Its looks very realistic when you see cruisers light up the night around them. The freeway is awesome. Hopefully modders will use coronas more now their colors can be altered. Sirensetting 14 is sweet, and is closer to how my area rolls, but there are not enough cars to make it the standard.
I'm not a huge fan of the CPVI, but this thing is irresistible. You just have to roll with car. Very greatful for your work and releases. Please keep it up.
  10. I look forward to some kind of tutorial explaining the steps. @Captain14 first post is a nice start. Also, how did you see that number sequence. I still don't see 010101, etc That sound like some Dr. Harry Adams (Samuel L. Jackson's character in the movie Sphere) type skills. :D
  11. I think the FPIU is a great alternative to the crown vic. More room, higher profile. Police vehicles have evolved into mobile mini-stations. I don't know about performance, but that may not be as big an issue considering stricter pursuit and response policies. Although, I would think the need to accelerate from near 0 mph to at least 40mph very quickly is important for clearing intersections and traffic while improving response times. I personally think that is where the FPIU has an issue, at least the standard version, based on my reading. Just my poorly educated observation.
This car pack is well above the recommended car release dosage. Downloaders be advised: If you experience you shock, overjoy, dreams of being a CHP officer, a continual need to play LSPDFR with Hurk's megapack, spontaneous orgasms at their beauty, overheating PC's, please take break from CHP duty, and possibly play with other beautiful patrol cars out now.
Me like a lot. Wheels look great. And the lights appear to be in all the right places. Are more departments ditching the rear window advisors? I know my local sheriff and police departments don't have anymore.
  12. I think ISIL was more active in Iraq and Syria. Al-Qaeda was more in Afghanistan, and Pakistan. I agree their lack of organization and participation in netwar tactics make them less predictable and harder to cope with than Al-Qeada, even after they evolved to adopt some of ISIL's techniques.
  13. First, I would like to say that my heart goes out to the people of Munich. Given the amount of violence we've seen in recent weeks, you would think your level of sympathy is tapped out. However, the scenes on television and the realization of that innocent lives were lost always touches you. I think advancements in communications allow people who are predisposed to certain behavior patterns to nurture and expand those negative traits. Twenty years ago, it could take years for an individual to gain the contacts and trusts to enter a terrorist organization. Today, one merely needs to connect to the a social media site. The nodes once required have largely evaporated. The black-market and even legitimate market is just fine. The profile of terrorists have also changed. They are very similar to mass-murderers, in part because the Internet provides them with the ability to connect to different groups and build beliefs that might not be the primary motivating factor for their ultimate act. Its a real headache with no easy solutions. I'm not an expert in terrorism and Mass Murder in the European countries. I studied the attacks in Russia back in the early 2000's, but have fallen off in recent years. I'm very interested in learning the personality profiles of recent attackers in France and Germany.
  14. I wonder how things are going with AI vehicles enabled with ELS. Also has ELS testing advanced to a phase where other common plugins are used such as LSPDFR plugins for performance results? I wish developers & testers well in their research and effort. This is a pretty big project.
  15. That is not entirely correct. Title II weapons are restricted by the federal government. These include machine guns (automatic weapons) and short-barreled rifles (barrel of less than 16 inches). These require approval from the ATF, and the Chief Law Enforcement Officer (alternative to signature of LEO is a special trust) where the transfer will end. Obtaining an automatic weapon is very expensive because of the ban imposed in the 1980's. I've seen an MP-5 submachine asking price at $20K. The tax stamp cost for SBRs is $200 and the waiting period can be anywhere from four-to-six months. Even Police departments have to undergo an extensive process before obtaining SBRs and suppressors. That is one reason why so many went first with 16 inch semi-auto rifles. While I am a supporter for stricter gun control laws, I don't have enough facts to develop an informed opinion about this attack, beyond that its senseless. We are a civilized society with non-violent tools available to us to resolve conflict. Those who elect to abandon those resources, even if flawed, to engage in cold-blooded murder, must be viewed as a threat and brought to justice, if they permit it. I pray for the victims, and their families. I pray we as a nation, and world can come together to resolve our disagreements in a manner that gives rise to non-violence and peace, not re-occurring violence and despair.
  16. I have retail and updated because I was bored and just wanted to get it out of the way. I think updating is inevitable, but you do have options for when. I usually wait until my favorite plugins are updated to the new RPH with added features. This is usually days after Rockstar updates. I also back up my current directories before updating, just in case I have issues, and need to stick with the current version.
  17. That seems unlikely, but I wouldn't be surprised. I'm not an expert on Turkish politics, but what I do know about Erdogan certainly has me worried. He is thin skinned, and appears to be moving away from democracy. And no matter what set this off, I expect him to take advantage of the opportunity to assert more control. He was able to seize control of the situation through social media. So I assume that is something that will be of more concern to him. Now he is blaming a Muslim cleric that resigns in the US for organizing this coup and wants him to be extradited. This is a big problem for the United States. I don't think we should turn him over without some proof, and assurance of treatment. Doing so may send a negative statement to Erdogan and his supporters, but America should not be complicit with an authoritarian power grab. Simply because a government is elected doesn't mean its actions are democratic. I see a serious situation developing in Turkey. A big question for the US and West is can they continue to view Turkey as a memberstate, or has it evolved into a Middle-eastern state, requiring a re-assessment of our relationship? Hopefully, the people of Turkey will steer their leaders in the right direction. It was something to see how quickly they responded to Erdogan's call to take to the streets. I think that shocked coup-supporters. The troops didn't look like they knew what to do. It was a powerful statement.
  18. I would like to replace the Fire SUV with this truck. What is the file name and location? Thanks.
