Is this a good gaming PC?
You mean if you max your graphics can you play it at a smooth frame rate? Not with that configuration, no. You can probably get most things cranked but not all. I have a better graphics card and an equivalent CPU and I have a couple of restrictions if I want to keep everything above 30fps.

Legal or not ?
As far as I'm concerned he's not wearing a helmet. As stated above it's probably negligence on the part of Rockstar, as there's no reason for a motorcycle helmet to have hair and a headband. In any case, I pull him over when I catch him (I have a video with that guy in it running from me when I try to stop him and he crashes his bike... go figure). Not wearing a helmet is a safety violation in most U.S. states but there are exceptions. I lived in New Hampshire for about 19 years and there is no helmet law in that state. Travel one state north or south, and you'll get a ticket. Doesn't matter if you're from NH or not. Only thing that will be ignored is if you don't have insurance and you're in NH. You're not required to have it to drive into another state. I've seen people run from the police thinking the opposite. Sad, really.

A.) FRAPS is pretty easy to use since you just hit a button, but like I said it can have an impact on your FPS that gets pretty serious depending on the quality or the graphical settings you have. IE: You may have to turn your settings down to record and play at a smooth frame rate. B.) Outside of games I play guitar, I have two electrics and one acoustic. I've been playing since I was 14, but I'm still not a very good lead player, I'm a pretty good rythym player. My primary music genre preference is .etal, followed by Grunge Rock since I grew up in the 1990's. My guitars can be pictured here: That's an Alvarez AD70SC acoustic with an electric pre-amp to plug it into a guitar amp. That's my first guitar ever. An Epiphone Les Paul Special II. This is my currently most played guitar, a Schecter Damien Special with EMG HZ passive pickups. Beyond that, I'm a tech sort of person. I build my own desktops and make reading tech news a part of my daily routine so to speak.

Shit just got real !
This whole thing is absurd. If this vote still passes and does not get veto'd, then I'm going to organize a protest where I get thousands of people to move to Canada at once. I'll go back to the days where I played MMO's a lot and call it something like a 'Citizenship Spike' or 'Citizen Zergway'.

Actually it does because G17 tracks you stats in game. lol It's fine. Carry on, officer.

You didn't read any of my first post did you? I don't know why you can't reset your stats, and you can usually spam shouts by hitting 7, 4 or 1 on the number pad.

Where's the option for LCPD Bicycle Mod? *Ring ring!*

Oh, just applied. lol My first major game beta was Lord of The Rings: Online and game by game I've build my resume. I'm into a couple of cool games now but some of the NDA's prevent me from actually saying what game I'm testing. All in good time, though.

I have that issue occasionally. Usually one or two restarts of the game will fix it. It's a side effect of the overly elaborate car mods.

lcpdfr 0.95. RC1 (FIX) BUG
Crashing problem related questions belongs in the support forum. And it's not a mod related bug otherwise everyone would be complaining about it.
- What FPS do you all get?

GTA 4 - Graphics card questions.
I wouldn't buy anything under a 560Ti. A 550 might get you around 30FPS on GTA IV at max settings depending on traffic, the mods you have, etc. Battlefield 3 is playable at mostly high settings, not full and Call of Duty is built on a ridiculously old engine so you're fine there.

Looking to shoot people in the face in my spare time to relax
Just play bot matches on Unreal Tournament, Counter Strike: Source or Team Fortress 2. Bot matches can help sharpen your skill and prepare you for playing against humans if you decide to. You also complete achievements in bot matches.

Jay could probably field that question better than I could, but I believe it's through heavy community participation, a drive to improve the mod for my own enjoyment and the enjoyment of others and my extensive beta history coupled with advanced computer and minor programming knowledge.

Molten: My in-game hours can vary depending on my shift at work. Tonight I had several hours to play any game I wanted, I played about an hour worth of Counter Strike: Source (warming myself up for CS:GO when that comes out) but nothing else. I'll probably boot up LCPD:FR shortly, though to test the new .DLL files and make sure they work properly since testers frequently get new builds. I'd expect to get an hour or so in before I call it quits and head to bed or maybe put a couple of new CDs I bought into iTunes. Also if you're referring to LCPD:FR stats I could care less. lol LCPD:FR is its own little single player world so as far as the LCPD is concerned I'm an ace cop. I think we should all feel that way when we play this mod. Ekalb: Thanks, man. I'm glad at least one other person saw what was possible and took the initiative to take a look into it. I've been involved in a lot of major game betas before (including a couple I can't talk about right now due to non-disclosure agreements), most recently I tested Star Wars: The Old Republic on three occasions before release. LCPD:FR is surprisingly clean and well coded despite the fact that it has to be done with scripts and no inside help from Rockstar Games. It's good quality in terms of design, realism and best of all the G17 team here really listens and interacts with their community and generally deals out new patches quickly to fix major issues. That's more than I can say for a lot of major companies, including EA, Eidos, Activision, Blizzard, NCSoft, etc. I am studying law enforcement with the intention of being a patrolman. That career may or may not pan out for me. I came out of high school thinking I was going to be a computer programmer. I was sure of it. I tried it for a bit over a year and found out I didn't like it. I tried graphic design after that and I was good with it but it didn't hold my interest as well as I had hoped. But, there's no way of knowing if it will pan out or not if I don't try it. Law enforcement subject matter entertains, excites and interests me. I can't really describe it any other way. So I think I'd like to give it a shot some day.

Gunpoint Traffic Stop.
I think at least some variant of it would be doable. Even if you can initiate a felony traffic stop by yourself it would be a big improvement for realism and therefore; fun. Just don't make a felony traffic stop near a crosswalk and don't call for backup. Cars wait for peds in most cases.

Good thread idea by NicolaiB, so as Sam already did, I'm probably going to steal it. I was considering making a YouTube video about this (which I still may) months ago, but I decided against it. I do expect less feedback, as I do already respond to every question I get on my YouTube account, and I also doubt LCPD:FR newbies will look here. But nevertheless, here I go. Q: What are your system specs? A: Read below. Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 955BE Memory: 6GB DDR3 OCZ Reaper Video Card: nVidia GTX 570 Motherboard: ASUS M4A79T Storage: 2x Seagate 1TB 7200RPM HDD RAID 0 Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Q: I want my GTA IV to be just like yours, what mods do you have? A: Read below. LCPD:FR Version .95 RC 2 (Tester exclusive as of this writing, general population will be using whatever build is available for download.) ELS V5 (I use version 5 because it has been more stable for me since .95 Beta 1.) 2x Crown Victoria Police Interceptors using skins I made myself, 1x Unmarked Dodge Charger, 1x Unmarked Chevy Tahoe, 1x Unmarked CVPI LCPD Police Station Door Skins (Custom made, not available for public download.) Sheriff Tactical Vest Skin (Custom made, not available for public download.) Federal Signal Omega Siren (Use Google to find it, I don't have a link.) Q: Can you find the links to everything for me? A: No, I don't have the time or energy to do it for every single person who PM's me. I get between 5-30 PM's on YouTube per day, every day. Q: Will you help me install everything or create a video that tells me how? A: No, there are plenty of tutorials out there to help you do that, and LCPD:FR has a forum board (you're on it now). Q: Will you help troubleshoot problems or give me tech support? A: No, there's a Support forum for that. Q: What's a good place to find mods? A: GTAPoliceMods.com or GTAInside.com Q: What do you use to record your videos? A: I used to use a program called WeGame to do it. It's a lot like STEAM but it's not as popular, it just happens to have a built in video recorder that's free. Q: Why haven't you made any new GTA IV videos? Please make more. A: WeGame no longer works on GTA IV for me, and so far I have not found another recording software that allows me to play the game at the detail settings I use without causing too much lag or taking up tons of hard drive space. Beyond that, I play several other games, including one that I have a dedicated clan for that has a voice server, game server and website, a 5 day per week job with changing hours and a family to help out. I don't have the time to experiment with new video software all the time. I'll get around to making new videos eventually. Q: Are you a police officer? A: No, I am currently studying law enforcement in private using various books and real NYPD entrance exams. Q: Where do I get GTA IV? Can I have it for free? A: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Any other questions you guys may have you can ask up here. I won't promise that I'll get to them ASAP, but I check the forums somewhat frequently so it won't be too long. Please do not post a question here, then post a comment on YouTube and then give me a private message and then comment on my channel. I can see all of those, and I get alerts on my cell phone for each of them. One is enough.

My PC Specs
You need a graphics card. Can't underscore that enough. You can build yourself (not buy from a retail company like Dell or HP) a computer that would do a decent job for about $550-600. You can get one that will be somewhat future-proof for about $800.

The hell...
Actually it's been there since the leaked beta, months before the RC even existed. I showed it off in my first major YouTube video. It's always been there since the station existed.

5 pistols, 1 man
There are underground gun shops in Liberty City as you play through the normal GTA IV campaign, but as far as I'm concerned: Hove Beach itself is an underground gun shop. The best part is you don't have to pay for any of your weapons provided you can cap a couple of Russians/Ukrainians and drive away really fast. Or you can trick them into punching a police officer (stand behind them when they swing their punch at you) and they'll get shot to death and you can pick up the free weapon they drop.

Happy to hear. This will be thanks to three major contributions: 1.) The developers. 2.) The testers. 3.) The community. Go you!

No Pursuit Random Events?
I just want to clear up a few things for those of you not testing: 1.) The pursuit events supposedly can happen, but like many of you I haven't had a single one since the original leaked beta copy. It has been brought up before the development team, and they've assured the testers that it's being worked on. I have not had any status updates on it in months, however. 2.) Some features were removed from RC1 and RC2 due to stability issues, particularly the bomb threat call out. It was terribly glitchy especially with car placement and furthermore didn't even make much sense from a patrolman point of view. Police departments have bomb squads for that, a patrolman's only job would be to block off a street with a patrol car and tell civilians to stay back. It's being worked on and was not scrapped. 3.) The drunkard world event being missing was a miscalculation. It now appears more frequently, but the foot chase world event saturates the game more than anything else. Again, this has been talked about and a fix is supposed to be in the works.
