I'm an atheist, I can't help myself asking questions why people still belive in a old book about a talking snake, a man walking on water and and virgin births. On a bit more serious note; to those of you who say you are against gay marrige: Why? Is it because of your religion or do you just don't like the thought of same-sex relationships?

Well, your bible also says that you can't have any tattos, wear gold and certain types of clothing materials. You also can't shave, curse, eat shellfish and pork. Why should you do as the bible says with one thing, and don't give a shit about another thing? I live in Norway, one of the most liberal and atheist countries in the world. We NEVER see any natural disasters here. We don't have earthquakes, tornados, drought, famine, tsunamis and hurricanes. We are one of the wealthiest countries in the world, with basically no poverty and we have one of the lowest crime rate/murder rate in the world. So why does bad things mostly happen to religious countries, and countires with a high atheist population seems to be doing (mostly) just fine? And why is it bad? Can you please elaborate?
