Let me start off, this isn't an insult. It isn't a derogatory statement. I'm poking some fun at how many Emergency Lights some of his and others cars have. I happen to like BXBUGS' mods and I personally don't have think badly of his cars. I just heard some people poking fun at how many lights some of his cars have and how they are a "Christmas Tree"..

I see you already got your answer. I started re-texturing few days ago I absolutely love it. Now, my country finally has decent textures on awesome models.

Please ensure you read the details after logging in before using the system. The main point being please use the "Generate person(s) at incident" on the My Inquiries page to generate ALL persons details you use in your work. using them means it builds up a virtual record for each person which other officers can access via person checks etc.




Avoid making up or using persons' details from LCPD:FR in this tool.

Original message: I'm not sure if I've posted this here before or not, I can't seem to find it. I have posted it on GTApolicemods.com. It was originally made to go hand in hand with LCPD:FR so I'll post it here too.

I thoroughly enjoy LCPD:FR and I like to take the game one step further by role-playing. Now I'm not the best programmer nor have I any intentions to be a programmer, however I wanted more detailed calls in the game and I decided to try and make something, from scratch. So after a little reading up on HTML and PHP I had a go, and this is what I came up with.


Let me know your thoughts and any suggestions. I do plan on adding more calls and other things when time prevails. I suppose it's more suited to an online environment - would anyone be interested in founding a "virtual police force"?

Inventor is CAD/CAM. It is not even remotely appropriate for games. I know that a couple months ago, someone was saying "Look at this great graphics card" for an NVidia Quadro, which is a very expensive graphics card designed for industry, and they were told that it is actually bad for games. Stuff like Inventor is what it is for.
Fun fact: did you know that you can design a part in Inventor, send it to a special program, and then have a mill or lathe automatically make the part for you out of metal? (You can also have a 3D printer print it, but that is less robust) It's called CNC, and my robotics team just had a few parts made this way. It's just awesome (the person who designed them actually made them his profile pick on FB)

Easy to use and it's free.

GIMP is also a great option and is free. If you have access to Photoshop it is the best and easiest to use. I've also heard of people using paint.net (there are tutorials for that on youtube). My friend Lonestranger has a great tutorial on GPM in the knowledge base section. Also JDSGraphics makes some of the best textures out there right now and he has several photoshop tutorials on his youtube channel. If you end up using GIMP things may be slightly different, but most of the techniques cross over from photoshop. Best of luck!

Hi,

I did ask in here when I first joined about setting up the game and you guys helped massively. I'm playing the game now, and even though it crashes every 30 to 50 minutes for whatever reason, normally in a chase, it doesn't bother me hugely as virtually everyone has the same issue.

I've tweaked the game with mods and will be looking at Traffic flow etc but the part I'm trying to concentrate on now is the lighting and realism.

I've been trying to find an illumination mod on this site and othes but to no avail. Can anyone please point me in the right direction of one?

Also I downloaded a car and it says this in the Read me file:
"This Vehicle is ELS-H with a Halogen Flash Pattern
Enable Halogen Mode for the lights to Flash Correctly
just replace Polpatriot.wft and polpatriot.wtd with SparkIV"

I've done the SparkIV bit and the vehicle is working but how do I enable Halogen mode? Is that using the ELS?*I have ELS downloaded*

I'm trying to get brighter lighting as the game is really lacking this at the moment?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

When I bought GTA IV, I knew that I didn't meet the requirements to run the game. However, the game is running smoothly after doing some discovered and undiscovered tweaks and I still do not meet the requirements. I'm going to let you in on some things you may know and some things you don't Here are my specs you need to know.

Genuine Intel® CPU 585 @ 2.16GHz
Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 32-bit
Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family
RAM: 3.0 GB

The Trick #1:

Note: (This certain tweak can also help people who meet the requirements, but can only put their graphics on medium.)

Open your GTA IV directory and go to common/shaders/. You should see a folder called win32_30_atidx10 and win32_30_nv8 and others. Make a backup of win32_30_atidx10 folder and move it into win32_30_nv8. Once done, you may or may not get 10 extra fraps. If not, please don't blame me. Remember, it's more for people who can't put their graphics past medium.

The Trick #2 (for low end computers only)

Using a commandline is helpful only if you use it correctly.

Make a file in notepad called, "commandline" and add it to your main folder.
Add the following:
-noprecache
-windowed
-novsync
-novblank
-viewdistance 0
-renderquality 0
-detailquality
-frameLimit 0
-texturequality 0
Then, in the game graphics menu, whatever you can turn off or put on low, that would be recommended
You would think that after putting the settings above would cause the game not to load anything, but it does the opposite for me at least.
You put certain number in front of -availablevidmem depending on how much memory you actually have. Start with -availablevidmem 2.0 but if that doesn't help, put 3.0 instead, and if that doesn't work keep on going up.
Now, you might notice that your game is lagging once in a while. This is because you need to put your texture filter to Anisotropic 2x located in the graphics menu and it's recommended to turn off the clip recording feature located in the game menu. It also helps if you don't have too many scripts in the scripts folder because it could slow down your game or cause it to freeze. Using the LCPDFR which puts files in the Scripts folder should be okay. Just to make sure your game is totally running smoothly, download process tamer here and change the priority to above normal or high. you have to run the program every time you play gta iv to switch it to high or above normal If you need any assistance, comment.
