Project Virginia - Lore Friendly Blaine County Mega-Pack Textures by: amen_brother What started as a personal project for my own pleasure quickly snowballed into my largest, most ambitious, and first public release for GTA V - Project Virginia. I will start by saying that I am a complete amateur texture developer and this project was developed with extremely limited resources (basically just GIMP). If you are expecting professional quality liveries, you may be disappointed. However, this process has helped me develop better techniques and skills, and I believe that this pack represents my best texture work yet. This pack was developed with the purpose of filling gaps left open by other popular packs. Many livery packs out there have tons of regular patrol vehicles, which is awesome. However, for someone like me that enjoys having a uniform experience, the lack of SWAT vehicles, helicopters, marine units, and prisoner transport vehicles really started to bother me. So, while this pack may lack a variety of patrol vehicles, it does bring a uniform theme to special vehicles that aren't often considered. First off, why "Project Virginia"? As a proud Virginia native, I wanted to create a lore-friendly pack that stuck to my roots. In this effort, I based every vehicle off of those used by my local Sheriff's Office and those used by the neighboring city. They are not 100% accurate, and I have taken some short-cuts and liberties, particularly with some of the special purpose vehicles. However, every texture is as faithful as it can be, while still providing some visual interest and staying true to the theme of the pack. So, what can you expect with this pack? This pack includes a WHOPPING FIFTEEN (lol) individual textures, including: NINE Blaine County Sheriff's Office Vehicle Textures TWO BONUS Los Santos Police Department Vehicle Textures TWO BONUS Blaine County Fire and Rescue Vehicle Textures TWO BONUS San Andreas State Police Vehicle Textures Recommended Vehicle Models The creation of this pack would not have been possible without the use of some incredible vehicle mods and packs. These are: Other Credits This pack was made with the use of several freely available logos and decals, most of which are available online. However, a few elements were made here on the LSPDFR website, so a very special thanks to: BritishIndieKid for their BCSO, LSPD, and SASP logos from Indie's Assorted Logos: Part Two SkyDaFur Development for their BCFD/BCFR logo from LSFD & BCFD Logo Pack Frequently Asked Questions Q: How do I install these textures? A: I have included both written and visual instructions to show how to install them. Beyond that, I would recommend looking up some YouTube tutorials for more general instructions. Q: I want the lights like in your screenshots. How do I get them? A: The lighting textures and configs are, unfortunately, specific to the vehicles I personally use. You can find these in the above spoilers, or in the README under "Recommended Vehicle Models". For these, I have included the light textures and ELS configs in the Bonus Bundles folder. Instructions for installation can also be found in the README. Q: Why did you make LSPD and BCFR textures? A: I wanted to use them for my game, and I figured I might as well just spread the love. Q: Will you be updating this pack? A: Yes. I plan to add three to four more BCSO, LSPD, and BCFR textures in the future. I kinda wanna play my game though for a bit lol Q: Will you make a texture for [INSERT VEHICLE HERE]? A: Maybe. If I find your request interesting or a fairly simple task, it is possible. You can follow any further development by checking out my development thread in the forums!
  2. Alright, got some pretty important news this time. First, the BCFR bonus bundle is now completed. Included is a 2015 Ford F-550 Ambulance, as well as a 2017 Pierce Arrow XT Fire Engine. Ambulance Fire Truck This bundle marks the culmination of a month of effort, and with this bundle, I will finally be releasing version 1.0 very soon. I will have to reach out to some mod makers and secure some permissions, but I expect it will not take very long. Hope that you guys see this pack in the downloads very soon.
  3. Tiny update today. I finally have the second LSPD skin finished after a little while. The stripe design was tough to really nail down for some reason, but I finally managed to figure it out.
  4. Another small update. Been taking a bit of a break, but still steadily making some progress. First up is the final part of the main BCSO pack - the Bell 429 air unit. This is not based on anything used by my local sheriff's office, so it is completely custom, though following the same design theme. As this is the final entry into the BCSO part of the pack, I will say that I may be returning to the BCSO part of the pack after everything is finally done. I'll take a look at adding some requested vehicles after I drop the 1.0 release. Anyway, next up is the first of two skins for the LSPD. The LSPD skins are going to based on vehicles used by the Fredericksburg Police Department, the small city that neighbors my county. I managed to figure out a good system to make this livery work, so I was able to finish the Ford Police Interceptor Sedan. Yeah, I already used the model in the BCSO section, but I made some changes to the lighting to make it a little different. Alright, that's all I got for today. I'll be working on the next LSPD skin, a 2016 FPIU. After that, I'll be switching gears a bit to work on a Blaine County Fire and Rescue ambulance and fire engine. Both the LSPD and BCFR skins will be included as "bonus" liveries with the main BCSO pack, as well, so no worries there.
  5. Quick update: three new additions to the pack. 2014 Harley Davidson Electra Glide 2016 Chevrolet Express 3500 Marine Unit (Predator, couldn't find any good real boat models)
  6. Thanks, @QdiggityGaming! I've been working through the pack a bit more over the week, and have some updates. So, I have either completely redone or edited both of the original two liveries, and I have added three brand new ones! I will put them all in spoilers so they don't take up a huge amount of space. First up is the new revamped CVPI texture. The model I first chose for this livery unfortunately had a major bug, so I had to find a new one. This required a complete redo of the texture from the ground up, but I think it was worth it. Next is the 2020 FPIU livery. This one remains mostly the same, but I have realigned the badge to make it look just a bit better. Our first new livery is the 2016 FPIS. This, along with the FPIU, come from Ripple's excellent Legacy pack, and I think this one turned out very well. Next is the 2014 Chevy Tahoe. I had to take some liberties with this one, since I believe the Tahoe used by my local sheriff's office is a 2008 model, and had a lightbar. However, I find this one to be really nice, though I might come back and fix up some of the decals. Finally, we have the Lenco Bearcat. I found this model in XxOJLxX Designs' Legacy Pack, and think it is the best ELS Bearcat model out there right now. My local sheriff's Bearcat is actually unmarked, so I took some creative liberty with this one and made it into a ghosted livery. That's all I have so far. I plan to move to a Harley livery and a helicopter skin, though I haven't decided what helicopter I'll be using just yet.
  7. Hi, everyone, I started a new texture endeavor just a few days ago to attempt to recreate, to the best of my ability, my local sheriff's office. I plan to make this pack a comprehensive replacement of all default police vehicles, including both sheriff and city police vehicles. Attached below are my first two vehicles, replacing sheriff and sheriff2. I do plan to keep this thread updated on my progress. Reference Image Reference Image
