  1. I like this idea, honestly. A small orange warning box with a note that 'users have reported it as incompatible with the latest versions and blah blah crashes blah blah oddities such and such' near the top would help with mods that aren't actively maintained, such as (as mentioned) Albo's plugins. I think an implementation similar to the way it's done on LSPDFR: The Mod would probably be good - you could use the 'clean install' warning box where the 'antivirus false positive' box is, and rework it as necessary - that way, it's up at the top before the screens, yet it still draws attention. Alternatively, adding the warning box to above the "About This File" header would still make it rather visible for those reading the description without being as out-of-the-way as a header. EDIT: I did a piss-poor job of explaining what I meant when I typed this bit out, so I made a couple of mockups in my other reply.
  2. I'm not seeing any issue on my end, I'm able to click the X in the top right corner of the file's screenshots just fine. UAS: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:76.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/76.0
  3. Basically, it's saying that you shouldn't be using Arrest Manager and StopThePed together, as some (if not all) of AM's functions are also handled by STP. My recommended course of action for resolving this particular problem would be to uninstall Arrest Manager, as it is not actively maintained (whereas Beijojo does still maintain StopThePed).
  4. Honestly? I like the design of the front fascia more than I do the current generation of Tahoe. Looking at the civilian model from the Chevrolet website, it also kinda looks like it might have the indicators separate from the brake lights again (they combined them into the brake lights in 2014), which is always a good thing. Not a fan of the fact that they went with touchscreens on the entertainment centre, though. Touchscreens do not stand up to abuse well, and they're most likely going to see abuse. It also looks like it's got a pushbutton shifter (don't like 'em either) - on one hand, it'll be easier to throw it in park for foot chases, but on the other hand, it'll be far easier to bonk it out of gear by mistake. The ten-speed gearbox has me intrigued, though. It makes more sense for the SSV since that submodel is more kitted for off-road heavy-duty work (e.g. towing the search boat), since you'll need low gears for starting and high gears for cruise, but it doesn't make much sense to have it on the PPV. I'll be interested to see if there's complaints about it short-shifting or skipping gears altogether.
  5. Day late and a dollar short on this, but I've always just thrown the solution (if I find it myself) or a link to the comment with my solution (if I don't) in the OP of a thread, usually at the top. That's my personal go-to, though.
  6. Have you tried asking them politely for a link?
  7. The way ELS works, assuming you're using default configuration, is designed to mimic a lighting controller box with a three-stage slider switch (seen in the image below from a Touchmaster, at the bottom left of the box itself). The idea is that putting the slider in Stage 3 activates your full code set, and backing the slider off progressively turns off more and more lights until they're all off. In ELS, the default key to increase your lighting stage by one setting is J. Depending on how the vehicle's configuration file (VCF) is configured, the J key can be configured to go through the stages in different ways (refer to ELS user manual, bottom of page 12 for more).
  8. I'm a day late on this, but that power supply is raising my eyebrows. 350 Watts might be enough to power it all (your power hog's probably going to be the GPU and yours is gonna draw 120-160 W at peak), but even so you won't have much overhead for later upgrades.
  9. "Gaming laptop" is an oxymoron. A laptop that's good enough to run GTA 5 with decent graphics is going to run you well past $500, get damn hot in doing so, and you won't be able to stay unplugged for very long without your battery running down. Your best bet is to get a proper tower. If portability is a concern, there's a lot of smaller form-factor cases out there that you can choose from that'll slot a fullsize GPU. Plus, when the hardware eventually obsoletes, it's a lot easier to replace individual components on a tower than it is on a laptop, and doing so usually won't void your manufacturer's warranty. A modern laptop might be able to run GTA 5 at lower settings, but you're going to quickly be unsatisfied with the quality if you still decide to go the route of a laptop over a desktop. In other words Portability Power Cost Pick two.
  10. „OpenIV”. It's the main modding tool you're most likely to use if you decide to add cars/edit textures/change up guns.
  11. It's a good idea on paper, but I don't think it'll work out well in practice. If J. Random Person downloads 600 script mods and it works fine, but downloads SuperScript and it breaks everything, is that script itself nonfunctional, or is it one of the other 600 they downloaded conflicting with it? Or is it causing internal conflicts between two tangentially related mods that only happen when SuperScript does this specific thing? Or, is it simply revealing an issue between unrelated mods that was never noticed until SuperScript was installed? J. Random Person, from what I've seen, doesn't have the patience to sift through the logfiles or start troubleshooting it all in-depth, so to them SuperScript is broken.
  12. As of this post, there are 335'417 registered accounts on this website. You can see this number on the forum homepage, near the bottom. As far as people actively playing LSPDFR, I couldn't begin to imagine. I'm sure the G17M folks have better metrics than I would, but you can also see how many people are playing currently at the bottom of the forum homepage as well, below the online users list. (Just click 'Community' up top and then hit the 'End' key, it's the very last thing before the footer advert.)
  13. Never forget LCPDFR Red Theme Requiescat in pace 2014-2015 Edit: That theme is the main thing I miss most about the old site. It replaced the cold blue everything with a red everything. I mean, yeah, the new site was great when it came out in April 2015, but after 4⅔ years of looking at it, the steel grey accents present everywhere have become... dull, and lifeless.
  14. Truth be told, I'm actually kind of hoping that flip phones will make a comeback. I know they're probably not going to (and I know I'm in the minority when I say I absolutely despise touchscreens), but honestly I preferred my old flip phone over the PDAs you see advertised for $lodsofemone. Hell, I was rocking a Casio Ravine2 until early 2018 (images in spoiler). There is honestly something so satisfying with ending a call by slamming the clamshell shut, that you just don't get with a PDA.
  15. Moving antennae is a bit of a tall order, given the game engine and its limitations. You might get lucky and find a couple of cars, but your odds are slim.
  16. Albo1125 wartungs nicht Arrest-MAnager mehr, nicht von die Version für LSPDFR-Version 0.4.2. STP wird noch gepflegt.
  17. Battlefield 1942? Now that's a game I haven't heard of in forever. So many hours of my life were spent in that game. And I learned a lot more about World War II there than in school!
  18. It should be at the bottom of the appropriate Edit Profile section. However, there are indeed two fields for nationality.
  19. I am not a fan of the way the front fascia looks; to me it looks like they're trying to out-do the 2021 Bronco in the "how RoboCop can we make it look" department. There's not really any smoothness in the transition from nosepiece to side/bonnet, either; it's just a hard corner like a Kenny T800. I will give it props on how they re-did the headlighting to more resemble the older 2+2 headlight style of the C/K/Silverado/Suburban of the late 90s, though if they did away with the separate running lights (and thus use the headlight beam as the DRL), I'll have to dock points for that. Not really a fan of the trend of "make it bigger" that SUVs/pickup trucks have been going through lately. Time was, you could actually *fit* a pickup in a single parking space...
  20. Yeah, I noticed the tab up top immediately after I made the last edit... It's 01:25 in the morning and I am blind, haha. Mildly disappointed to hear that single-texture replacement isn't supported, but I suppose I can see the arguments against it (esp. relating to vehicle liveries). Thanks for the response!
  21. Is there documentation/sample XML files available for mod-makers yet? I have a single-texture mod (the reg plate font one) that I'm looking at polishing up for this (if nothing else, for my benefit for when I inevitably lose my mods again). Also, does/will it support single-texture replacement, or will I have to replace a whole .YTD?
  22. Nice, VKdH is back! Haven't seen their stuff in too long, ever since the guy that maintained the channel got shuffled onto deskwork for a while. Glad to see they're back!
  23. You don't need external tools to use ELS-IV with a controller; turning on Express Mode will emulate vanilla game functionality.
  24. Out of curiosity, how'd you guys come up with the name? Does one of the fabled letters in LMS' name mean Leonard?
