  1. Like Zelyth pointed out, Chris Roberts isn't exactly a stranger to the space sim genre either. The designers of both Elite: Dangerous and Star Citizen have tons of experience behind them. And while you are right that Chris Roberts has made some bold promises, even if they only meet half of it, I'd be happy. Just the ability to fly around in space and walk around your ship/space cities makes me giddy.
  2. Glad you like it. Here's a bonus shot for you. Some other screenshots. The unit numbers, as you'll notice, are all the same. They are just placeholders at the moment. And keep in mind that things are probably gonna change, such as the caution tape that totally did not just port over from skin to skin.
  3. Can't believe that no one has brought this up yet (unless I'm blind and someone actually has). For those that don't already know, Star Citizen is an upcoming space sim that is set to be released in the next few years or so. it got most of its attention during its Kickstarter campaign where it has raised the most out of any game. Now, after Kickstarter, the game has received $66 million in funds. It's a very hard game to describe, but think of it as Mass Effect, except in first person and in a persistent online universe. This basically means you can free roam space and be able to walk around in cities/space ports. You can also be anything you want...you can be a trader, space trucker, bounty hunter, miner, mercenary, or even a pirate; it's all up to you. There will also be a FPS portion of the game, which includes boarding actions on other player's ships. The game is now in pre-alpha and modules are being released to backers to test. Currently, the Hangar and Dog Fighting Module is out. The Planetside and FPS module are set to come out next year. Links: Official Website Arena Commander Gameplay Persistent Universe Demo (no idea how many times I've watched this...kinda gives you an idea of the scope of the game) FPS Teaser I don't think I've ever been this excited about a game...ever. It even tops my excitement for GTA V on PC.

  5. Take your time, guys. Going into healthcare myself, I pretty much went apeshit when I saw the treatment system you guys were planning. I am damn excited for this. Keep up the good work.
  6. Woah, forgot I had this thread. Here are 3 new textures I am currently working on in between studying for finals. They're certainly not flashy and were meant for my own personal use. I was trying to find a clean, professional look and this is the result. All are pretty much done at this point, just doing some quick fixes and will be releasing them after all my finals are done. 7. I love the general idea of adding more user groups. It will definitely help some members get a sense of "belonging," although there is a risk of alienating new members. However, I would change the way it is being proposed. Instead of having a "Featured Member" group, maybe a little icon or symbol under one's username if they have had their mods featured on the site. But, the biggest problem I have with it is the "VIP" and "Old School" groups, which will definitely harbor a sense of elitism and make the community seem much less open, especially the "Old School" one (and this is coming from someone that would technically be an "Old School" member). I can see it causing more problems than it is worth. With that said, I wouldn't have a problem with people having a "Supporting Member" icon if they donate, that's totally fine.
  8. TotalBiscuit did a good video on this here. It basically sums up my thoughts on this issue pretty nicely. It's absolute bullshit. If kids are playing GTA, it's the parent's fault. No one else's.
  9. I just watched Louis Theroux's documentary about gamblers in Las Vegas. All I can say is...holy shit. Gambling addictions aren't new to me, but seeing some of the people in the documentary, that's all I can say, especially watching Alan (the mattress guy) aimlessly putting countless $100 bills into three different slot machines while saying, "We all want to make it rich." God damn it.
  10. Black and white increases the visibility of police cars and makes them easier to recognize. Source
  11. I have tried using a steering wheel for GTA IV. Unfortunately, every time I press a button on the steering wheel or keyboard, my car immediately starts turning left until I turn my steering wheel all the way to the right which, of course, makes my car veer to the right. If anyone knows a solution to this, please let me know.
  12. This is basically everything you need to know about the metric system. And while we're on the topic of units, I wish everyone just used the same damn system, especially in the medical field. You have medication dosages that are ordered using either the metric system, the imperial system, or the two most useless systems ever: household and apothecary.
  13. I forgot to mention this: with the new file, use OpenIV to replace the texture file instead of SparkIV. Otherwise, the texture will remain pixelated.
  14. v1.1 of the file has been submitted and awaiting mod approval! See OP for more details.
  15. Umm, if you tell me what you mean by that, I will be more than happy to do it. Don't be rude.
  16. I remember back when I used to use Windows XP, I could just press prt scr and paste the screenshot into Paint. But alas, those days are over. Ever since upgrading to Windows 7 eons ago, every time I do that, I just get a black screen. Unfortunately, the only way I know how to get fullscreen screenshots without an ENB is by using Fraps or some other external program like that.
  17. Alright, texture has been submitted and currently awaiting approval. I ultimately decided not to release the TMC Classic version of the skin. If you still really want the skin, PM me and I'll send it over to you as-is.

I have always hated the default GTA IV bus from day one. Everything about it just looks awful. When I finally found the bus from GTA V up for download, I had no choice but to make an LTA texture for it. In addition to the livery, this download also includes multiple destination boards, about 2-3 for each borough, and textures for tinted windows. There are several limitations/known bugs, most extending from lack of an actual template: LTA logo at the rear of the bus is slightly cut off at the top. This is, again, something out of my control. The LTA logo is shared by two other locations on the bus. Changing the location of the LTA logo would affect the positioning of the other LTA logos. The number of decals on the bus and their positions are hardcoded into the model. There is nothing I can do about it, unfortunately. If I could make this texture less basic looking, I would've. 18. I will if I have time. No guarantees, though.
  19. Just like in real life, it seems.
  20. Woah, there is a lot more interest in this than I thought! Glad to see. I even made a signature for the LTA...if anyone actually wants their own version, let me know. Thanks. It's based off of the ads that the MTA tends to spam everywhere. That was the goal! I wish, I could make an exact replica of the buses used by the real MTA. Unfortunately, the "template" included with the bus leaves a lot to be desired. As of now, this basic design (half white, half blue) is the only thing I can do.
  21. The download includes the livery (of course), multiple destinations signs (about 2-3 for every Liberty City borough), and new tinted windows. I know I originally said that there was going to be options for windows, but the bus looks 10x better with tinted windows, so I decided to not include the "clear windows" option. Some notes about limitations/known bugs: Logos and decals are pixelated, nothing I can do about that, unfortunately. This texture was created using vector graphics, so this is really as good as it can get. LTA logo at the rear of the bus is slightly cut off at the top. UPDATE: The issue with the logos and decals appearing pixelated has been fixed. Use OpenIV instead of SparkIV to replace the texture file. >Download Here ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -snip- Something a little different. This is just a simple little pet project of mine. Should be coming out in the next day or so. The bus doesn't have an actual template and its decals are hard coded into the model, so I'm very limited as to what I can do. At this point, I'm just fiddling around with it to see what is possible before releasing it. The final release will include several different destination signs and window options (as weird as that sounds). Thoughts? Suggestions? Bus can be downloaded here. The damn thing took me ages to find.
  22. Few things bother me more than this pessimistic view of the human race. Yea, we're not perfect...at the end of the day, we're still animals that are bound to nature. However, just look around the world we live in right now and see how damn amazing we have it compared to just a few decades prior. We have the ability to talk to someone across the world in real time. Hell, even the fact that we are able to have this conversation is amazing. This is something that would not have been possible just 15-20 years ago. Even without going back to the 80s and 90s, just look at our cell phones for the past couple of years. We've went from basic flip phones to mini-computers that fit in our pockets that can do pretty much anything. I can video chat with someone in Australia while riding in a train in NY by using a device that I can fit in my pocket. This is the kind of stuff that we take for granted, but when you actually sit down and think about it...it's unimaginable. Don't even get me started on NASA's Curiosity. Another example: modern medicine save lives everyday, and continues to advance. Just look at HIV/AIDS. In the 80s and 90s, getting HIV was basically a death sentence. It was inevitable that you were going to progress to AIDS. Now, we can control it with antiretrovirals. Sure, it's not pretty and comes with a long list of side effects, but now people with HIV can expect to live just as long as someone without the virus given that it is treated early. Just think about how amazing that is...we were able to effectively turn a death sentence into a manageable condition in just 20 years. And it doesn't just stop there. Advances in the medical field are made everyday. If you want something with a shorter timeline, look at the use of EMRs (electronic medical records) during the past few years. Most charting now done in hospitals is through an EMR system and anyone who is caring for the patient can access it anywhere in the hospital at anytime, greatly increasing continuity of care. When meds are administered, the patient's ID band is scanned, along side with the medication, which drastically reduces med errors (I know it has saved my ass a few times in clincals). Before, all charting had to be done by hand on paper, and each patient had a gigantic binder that was left on the unit the patient is admitted in. All of this was just in a matter of a few years. TL;DR: Just those handful of examples prove to me that no, the human race is not becoming less intelligent. As a matter of fact, we're progressing quite well. It's just that stupid people now have a means to broadcast their stupidity to everyone. There have been stupid people since the beginning of time. It's just now that these same stupid people have the means to broadcast their stupidity to the world via the Internet.
