  1. Well I crashed less in 1.0b with preloading disabled than in 1.0a. So I guess I don't really need it on anymore. Someone mentioned the fix to the problem in 1.0a was going to be to make preloading on by default. I guess the devs found a proper fix instead. I have no car mods installed. I think GTA is running out of memory due to preloading being on. However I think I got the taxi bug with it off as well. Forgot to mention in my last post that I got this error when I crashed after about a couple of hours of gameplay.
  2. I typically just keep Skype open in the background. I have 8 gigs of ram though. However I do still get the taxi bug, so I guess 8 gigs isn't enough. Seeing as how GTA IV is supposed to be large address aware, I assume it's using the full 7 or so GB available to it. I'd try turning off model preloading, but that would just cause me to crash a whole lot more. Is it on or off by default in 1.0b if the value isn't present in the config?
  3. Crashed after about 3-4 hours gameplay and being paused for 16 hours or so. By modded GTA4 standards I guess that's a marathon. :P My only concern is that it didn't log the crash once again. I should probably be happy with the stability I get compared to some people. But I just miss the stability of 0.95 RC2. I don't recall getting many crashes and I usually quit the game manually. With 1.0 I usually crash before I get bored of the game. Although it could be that I just have more fun with 1.0 and play longer. :P Since you say that crashes are normally logged I'm starting to wonder if one of my ASI/.net/C++ loaders are messed up. I'm going to try updating my loaders to the latest version provided by the authors because it appears that LCPDFR installs an outdated version of DSOUND.dll. The copyright notice in the asilog.txt shows a copyright of 2008 when the latest version was released in 2009. I'm also going to delete all my logs and then go for another marathon to see if any errors show up in the other logs when it crashes. I'm not sure if the errors that appeared in my .net log are caused by another mod or LCPDFR. EDIT: Actually turns out the crash was logged by AdvancedHook. Should I do the manual install of the taser?
  4. I tried removing trafficflow and overtakingfix and crashed again. I'll try removing all my mods. Here's the log from the crash: Looks to me like it just died without logging any error.
  5. EFLC.exe shows a file version of 1.1.2.0 when I check it's properties in windows. I installed 1.0b from the manual install package right away after I clean installed EFLC. When I say "clean install" what I do to reinstall is I empty the install directory then decompress a backup .rar into the directory. Much faster off the hard drive than the retail CDs.
  6. Hey, I just updated to 1.0b recently after doing a clean install of EFLC. I'm still getting a lot of random crashes. I have a few other mods installed. Simple native trainer, vdH coroner and tow service, TrafficFlow and OvertakingFix. Here's my LCPDFR.ini Here are my logs so the devs can hopefully iron out all the problems. Had to attach them as files because the forum keeps giving me an error if I try to paste them in as spoilers. LCPDFR.log AdvancedHook.log AdvancedHookInit.log asilog.txt ScriptHook.log ScriptHookDotNet.log I've noticed that both LCPDFR.log and ScriptHookDotNet.log have freval errors. I was told they were supposed to be fixed in the 1.0b hotfix. Edit: Hit T to holster my taser and CTD'd with an SMPA60
  7. It seems to happen quite a while after I've towed a vehicle, when there should be no trucks still around. And another when trying to call a truck. It looks for sure like the way LCPDFR does things in 1.0 is affecting things. The game crashes on exit and says out of memory, which is apparently caused by Advancedhook adding the taser without modding files. Might have to manually install that. I'm getting a similar error message. It also causes the coroner mod to not function anymore as well. This only started happening after I installed LCPD:FR 1.0a.
  8. I'd suggest you try reinstalling GTA IV and then manually installing only LCPD:FR and see if you still get crashes. I've seen the staff mention numerous times that LCPD:FR is designed to be run without other mods installed. It's also been mentioned that modded cars can cause trouble so I'd strongly suggest trying it without the cars.
  9. Might want to try removing the modded vehicles. They're known to cause trouble if the poly count is too high. I'm not sure about ped skins, but I know that modded ped models have also been said to cause crashes. All I can suggest is try removing all your other mods and try adding them back one by one to see if one is causing the crashing. I've seen staff mention in several threads that LCPD:FR is made to be run without any other mods. Which is unfortunate since most people use police helper, modded police cars, and/or various other mods. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can identify the error though. Your error doesn't seem like the typical crashes most other people are getting. By the way, have you also tried doing a manual install?
  10. Do you have a "LCPDFR.log" in your GTA IV main directory? If so please post it.
  11. It seems like everything I do has a 10% chance of crashing the game. I can't play for more than an hour without crashing due to the fact that there's a chance I'll crash every time I order someone out of their car, arrest someone, initiate a pullover, etc. LCPDFR.log: AdvancedHook.log: AdvancedHookInit.log doesn't exist because I've manually installed the taser. It didn't even change anything, I still get the out of memory error on the rare occasion that I quit manually.
  12. Never mind the hat. Seems that LCPD:FR 1.0a and Simple Native Trainer don't support alternate hat textures. Unless I didn't install it in TBoGT properly. Oddly enough I saw an AI cop wearing it. :P
  13. From what I can tell looking in the pedprops.img the hat has an "_a" at the end so I'd assume you could just add another one with "_b" just like the shirt. I'm about to attempt to turn the hat and pants black myself. You'd probably do a far better job than me though, so if you have the time could you do lieutenant pants and hat? Myself, and probably fbo, would really appreciate it. :)
  14. You need the .NET hook loader I think. Which is automatically installed if you have LCPD:FR installed. The comment above mine explains where to copy the files to.
  15. It's like dubstep music. Loud and harsh, but absolutely awesome all at the same time. :D
