Seems like modders are leaving GTA 5 cop mods:(

Featured Replies

I use to play back in 2015 to 2016 and it seemed like a glorious time for LSPDFR. I'm back on it and understand there was  a recent update for the diamond heist. But putting that aside does it not seem like modders are not updating as much and moving on? ALDO stopped updating his and a few others that had essential mods for LSPDFR.  Even with LSPDFR being updated since i last played It still does not feel the same. If anyone feels the same please let me know. lol .   Im hoping some really good modders will come along and pick up the torch. We still have so long until GTA 6 !

You started long before I did.  I didn't find LSPDFR until Feb 2018.  I think it was still strong back then but I was busy trying to figure out how to install mods and other stuff.  This was the first game I spent time learning how to mod.  Not developing, just learning how to install it properly and what to do to prevent you from completely reinstalling the game.  Albo that "retired" from doing this from what I understand.  he posted that he is moving on to other stuff in late 2018 so he won't be updating his stuff anymore.  He does have this mods on open source and some where updated but still have problems.  I figure the best person to update the mod correctly is the author him/herself.  But if the author moves on then that mod might be dead.  Luckily, a mod developer named Bejoijo mod Stop the Ped and UltimateBackup which replaces a lot of what Albos mods did.  Link down below since he is not listing his mods on this site anymore.  With this latest update there are a few glitches that need to be worked out but I think the game is running ok for most.  This was a big update by R* where even LSPDFR had to be updated.  Also, Rage, Scripthook, Bejoijo updated his Stop the Ped and UltimateBackup.  If your game won't load then it may be you need to go into Open IV and update the Update.RPF which would possibly make some mods not work so you would have to reinstall them.  It's a pain but if you really want to play the game then that is what you do.  It is unfortunate that there doesn't seem to be a lot of developers like before.  If I knew how to develop mods then I would but I don't have time to learn it.  Barely have time a play it right now, just too busy in life.  LSPDFR does have what they call 4.0 version and they had some neat new features in the game that even eliminated some mods you would need.  I think it is decent they way it is.  Some more improvements could be made which I can't think of now but it is still decent.  Of course I haven't played it as long as most here.  Since you been out for so long you might have forgot somethings so put up a post if you get stuck and we'll try to help you through it.

I will start this off by saying that I started here way later than you just like JBin (2018). So my point of view will be from that time period onward.

I will say that yes, it does feel like modders are moving on. Each for their own reasons. Whether it be irl stuff, other stuff, or just them not being happy with how LSPDFR handles things. It is a shame that such great modders have moved on, but hopefully new modders will step up and take the place to give us an even more in-depth future for modding.

As for Albo, he just had real life stuff to deal with and he couldn't put anymore time into updating. Luckily, we have Bejoijo which provides an alternative to Albo's mods.

Help us to help you!

It has definitely slowed down I got into the in March of 2017, there are alot of great mods it's sad some are not compatible anymore. But lspdfr still has a great community and there's alot of new creators starting to make small things and I'm sure they'll end up making some amazing mods!

Ok my fellow officers. I have been messing around with these mods again and most seem to be just fine. Benzo is the new guy who seems to be picking up the slack from other modders. I would follow him on his page. He is the man!

Yeah he's one of the ones I was mentioning, he's doing a fantastic job!

I started back in January of 2017. I've really noticed this as well. There aren't as many new plugins being released as there used to be. More so I've seen a decline in the quality of vehicle mods. I feel that the standards have be laxed and a lot of the top quality guys like BradM and thegreathah from when I started have left the modding scene. Which sucks because I really miss being excite for their new mods and being thoroughly impressed with them. In my opinion, FiveM has kind killed the lspdfr vibe, most cars you seen now are "non-els FIveM ready". I know a lot of us wish lspdfr was able to be played with other players and that FiveM RP groups have somewhat made that available. Too each is own I guess

Personally I'll say this. Whats making me upset is the consistent update of GTA V(Rockstar issue). I cant even get a half of a year without having to update the game directory. Then Everything else most of the time will have to be updated LSPDFR, Rage, Scripthook, etc... Mind you I deal with transportation in real life. I cant take my gaming PC everywhere I go. Which means I only play LSPDFR once a month. Most of the time I have to update almost everything which can take from a few hours ,to a day or so and I even get scared of doing just that. Then I have to figure out why this crashed, why that crashed, sometimes uninstall the whole game just to reinstall everything to figure out I fixed one problem, but caused another. Its really becoming a headache. Granite the game is great and I think it maybe the only legit role play law enforcement game out there, its really become a havoc for all these updates. Heck this game has updated more than usual over the past year and some change.

Unless your one of the youtubers that do this for fun while possibly making a side bit of cash doing this. Then...well you get the idea.

I agree completely. With this last update, I've done a bare bones build and lspdfr has updated again... I get the frustration.

Tell me about it. I was hoping I could just hold off on the update let me enjoy a day without updating nothing. Until BejoIjo updated his stuff which forced me to make changes on my end

And at the base of it all is GTA 5 updating constantly to appeal to the Online community. That then causes everything else to need an update and the snowball effect grows bigger from there.
