New to LCPDFR and I can't wait to play it!

Hi,

It's TheMebster here and i'm brand new to this freakin' awesome mod. First, let me say I have always wanted a game like this and now, when my new computer comes by September 3rd, I'll be able to! Thank you to the creators of this amazing mod.

You're probably asking yourself, "How do you know it's awesome if you haven't played it yet ya dumb bloke? Plus you just barely discovered it!? Lame." Youtube and a want for a cop game my friends. Thanks to NBVideoGameVids i've been watching video after video of this mod's alpha from a couple years ago and I can't wait to see what it's like now.

Before I get my computer and this awesome mod, any suggestions for it like downloads, best way to install the mod (if there is one...i'm not much of a pc gamer...yet), what vehicles and other cool shit comes with this mod or anything else of that sort? Let me know!

I can't wait to throw my college books in the fire and play this mod until the sun comes up (okay, I won't really do that but you know what I mean)

Cheers,

TheMebster

The first thing you want to concentrate on is getting GTA IV installed as well as LCPDFR and have it all working as it should. Then you move onto vehicle and weapon mods.

Installing GTA IV + LCPDFR

  1. First thing you need to do is install GTA IV (Durr...) and then update it to patch 1.0.7.0 (see my signature for link)

  2. Then check that GTA IV is working, start it up do the first one or two missions, save and exit.

  3. Now install both of these: .NET Framework 4 and Visual C++ 2010

  4. Now go ahead and install LCPDFR. If you get an error that starts with this during install, see below: "Installation component 'LCPDFRModels' error'd!"

  5. On the page that shows the tick boxes. Do not change it!

  6. When that's done, and the installer is complete. You can go ahead and start up GTA IV, though make sure you run it as admin (Right click, run as admin)

If you get the "Installation component 'LCPDFRModels' error'd!" error during installation

  1. Make sure your GTA directories are not readonly, especially the COMMON and DATA folders.

  2. Also ensure you are running the installer as an administrator.

Now once you are sure everything is up and running smoothly, you can come back here and asks as many questions as you like about car/vehicle mods. Don't install these until you are sure LCPDFR and GTA IV is working properly, as you may need to find which mods are causing your game issues.

Good Luck

Hey Tom H,

Thanks so much for your installation tutorial. I'm about to try to run it. I'm running into a slight...annoyance. My game runs okay...at minimum requirements. My computer is brand new. To successfully answer this problem, if you can help, what do you need to know about my computer so that we can be on the right track?

Thanks in advance
