Braveheart's Policing Script [23/11/2012: 2.0 BETA released!]

Featured Replies

Is there any way we can change the dialogue between officers and dispatchers? My area agencies do their dispatching a little different--so I wanted to mimick their style.

Regardless, this is a fantastic script.

Thanks!

Looking at Friday 10th August for the release.

  • Showcase Video is here

  • 2.3 should fix any issues with locations not showing up.  There was also an issue in the previous version where resist arrest would prevent or sometimes crash when LCPDFR arresting, this has been fixe

when I installed the script but when  I start the game then I hit the keys to start the script nothing happens and I've reinstalled everything more than once already... I was wondering how to fix it so I can play it.. im running windows 8..

I found a bug on my end here, I keep getting a lot of Code 4 responses to calls, looking in the console reveals a Person does not exist error. How to fix that?

Might be your computer slow, meaning it can't load the models.

I doubt that somehow though, I have no issue with the LCPDFR or PH callouts or models loading once I'm actually on patrol though, it's saying the person doesn't actually exist for the callout, can they be killed by the AI without my interveing or what?

I did get one collapse call to work, succeeded at that, then a string of non existing errors

What graphic card do you have?

It shouldn't matter what graphics card I have.

I can (and do) run IV maxed out with zero other issues.

Scripthookdotnet.log shows this several different times when the script screws up:

2013-06-19 20:40:53 - Error during Tick in script 'Policing.Policing':
System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.

2013-06-19 20:40:58 - SCRIPTS TERMINATED!

EDIT: Fixed, turning off resist arrest cleared everything up nicely

I read somewhere that the code 4 error is a result of too much going on where you are at the time of the call out; I can't remember if it was for this or the LCPDFR call outs however. And I know braveheart has stated that the shoplifting call out doesn't work yet.

There are only 2 instances when I actually get a lot of code 4 errors. 1st is when I play the game for more than 45 minutes and 2nd is in dense traffic areas. I guess there could be a third when I have PH going with coroner and tow truck in the area also but that's usually after 45 minutes of gameplay like I said above. I can play a little over 50 minutes with BraveHeart's / PH scripts going until one of them starts to slowly deteriorate and gives me errors left and right forcing me to pretty much just call it a game and reload.

Can I ask how do you respond to an intoxicated person? I get there but dunno what to do

On intoxicated people, I check their ID and then do a breath test on the person. If pass, I fine the person and either call them a taxi or just tell them to leave the area. Depends on what my plans are for the game that day. If the person fails, it's jail time.

Thank you, but it's a bit dumb since they would need to go in hospital :X

They don't have to go to the hospital. You can just arrest them and pretend like your taking them to the police station to put them in a holding cell (drunk tank). Where I live, intoxicated people get taken to the PD, put in holding cell for 6 hours and then released with a fine.

I posted this question here but had no reply:

So I will ask here...

How do we change position of the text that your mod shows.

This video shows it at the top of the screen.

Looks like NPCops pay no attention to pursuits started by the script... Have chased a sport cr on the freeway, and, Jesus, it must have been over 90 mph, and it lasted about 8 minutes. Finally stopped it using roadblock from PoliceHelper, but I definitely could have used some backup during the pursuit, but other cops just ignored it...

When you're in the vehicle pursuit generated by Braveheart's Policing Script, then LCPD:FR will not recognize it as a pursuit and therefore the NPC police officers will just ignore it.
