Ok hi all 🙂

Not sure if its ok to make this post here as it is a kind of suggestion from me and one i think very relevant to LSPDFR and those enjoying immersion.

Please get a moment to check out Xscanner by Khorio. I only recently saw it when FirstThirtyMinutes stated he uses it and so i tried it out. OMG its incredible. it puts police chatter audio files into your car while you patrol and really adds amazing immerison. It hasnt caused any lag or FPS issues or conflicted with my game at all. When you get out of your car the audio fades as you move away to show its in-car aiduo. and starts up again when you get back in. It doesnt conflict with the callout calls as when you get given a call it pauses. and resumes after your call ends.

Its got quite a lot of files so barely ever repeats. Although i would love to see someone make add-on audio files to provide more chatter and reduce repeat files cycling.

Seriously check it out. Its easy to install and for me soemthing i think needed.

Yeah it's pretty great although I've stopped using it because I've started to hear more repeats. Personally what I use is now is just an actual real life dispatch radio. Like this: https://www.broadcastify.com/listen/feed/26569/web

That website is full of dispatch radio's and its awesome to listen to, even more so when something is actually happening which could be at any moment. But also mundane things like open mics and such. You do need to take a moment to find the channel with the best quality though, imo the one I linked is really good. One of the most popular channels if the chicago one, always something going on there.

Mod it until you break it.

@Fox7 XScanner requires an update... Dispatch fails to conform. Not only did the plugin supply background chatter but also revamped dispatch feed ; I suggest you direct your attention to the corresponding files to learn more about what your missing out on. A doleful affair , indeed

works perfectly fine on my game. No idea what you mean by revamped dispath. I hear xscanner as well as get calls regularly and normally. I havent had any issues with it at all.

XScanner is indeed a really good mod, but the one thing I hate and that stops me from using it is that eventually it loops and you hear the same exact thing over and over.  I just use Broadcastify.  It's real, live audio and you can mix it up and choose a different department to listen to each time.

Honestly, I just wish it wasn't AS active. No radio that I've ever been on frequency with has been as active as XScanner. All and all it's a great plugin and I feel like as Ezra said more things should be added and maybe have a variety of times that things are said over the radio.

How does that work though? Does it play through the actual cars in LSPDFR? Or do you just have it playing in the background via a web browser.

Background via web browser, so the audio is always playing, which is realistic.  If you watch bodycam footage on Youtube, you always hear the officer's radio going.  Since I play on Steam, I can easily open Steam's overlay, open a browser, and go to the site.  Don't need Firefox or anything opened.

I see a opportunity for a mod, the ability to play these in-game so we can turn it down a notch when we are doing a traffic stop or so...
