The file page already has almost 4 pages of comments in it and is beginning to become a little difficult to navigate through, so I felt it's time to actually make a thread for the mod. To be honest, I never though I would have to make a thread for this since I didn't anticipate the popularity at all (File page). There are already over 1,100 views and over 130 downloads after not even a full day.

Inside this mod you will find four different folders, each one contains different .wtd files containing my custom coronas.

Coronas are the "lens flare" effects that appear around headlights and breaklights, and they also

determine how the non-ELS (stock) emergency lights appear in game, which is my main focus.

I designed this mod with the goal to modify non-ELS lights in an attempt to make them more realistic (in most cases).

However, I also made sure to verify that headlight and breaklight coronas don't appear too far out of the ordinary.

The four different types of coronas all have different looks to them. The corona names reflect the look of the corona, while also being unique. If you would like a more customized version of these, or something entirely different, send a PM and I will see what I can do.

I have included labeled screenshots with every corona type so you don't have to hunt for a corona.

******* Corona types:

* The 'Bright Sun' corona is my attempt to make an "average" corona. It is large enough to make non-ELS lights bright,

but it does not have any extra perks to it. It's a standard, circular corona.

* The 'Halogen' corona, in my opinion, looks more like true halogen emergency lights. I made sure to make them

significantly brighter than stock lights. Again, there's nothing really flashy about this corona.

* 'LED Radiation' is where things start to change. This corona has more of a small LED look to it. It still appears

to be bright, but it the effect is not nearly as large as the more halogen-like coronas.

* Last but not least, there's the 'Solar Flare' corona. This one still looks more like an LED than a halogen bulb in my opinion,

but I gave it a larger radius than 'LED Radiation' so it has the brightness and size of a halogen bulb corona.

* More coronas will be on the way if demand is high enough. PLEASE leave feedback or requests on the lcpdfr.com file page.

******* Compatibility:

These coronas should be compatible with ALL graphics mods, including ENB. If you notice that a certain graphics mod alters the appearance in an undesired way, PLEASE send me a PM on the lcpdfr.com forums so I can fix the problem for you. Please note these were tested under ENB conditions.

******* Installation:

Simply choose your preferred corona and copy it in to pctextures while making sure to make a BACKUP of the original corona.wtd file.

There's nothing complicated to it. I eliminated the need to use tools such as SparkIV by making my own, 100% custom, coronas.wtd file that can just be copied and pasted.

******* Credits

I would like to thank Original Light for giving me the idea to modify the coronas, and for testing the coronas.

All textures found within coronas.wtd are created BY ME and they shall not be uploaded, in whole or in part,

to ANY other modding sites AT ALL. This is EXCLUSIVE to lcpdfr.com.

Modification of coronas, for personal use only, is both allowed AND encouraged to suit individual preferences.

I would like to receive as much feedback as possible regarding the new lights, especially regarding brightness and size of the flares / coronas. I am also open to suggestions and I am currently in the process of making a new LED-style light with a larger outer-flare (request from ehjort1891). So far the feedback has been 100% positive, but if there's anything you feel I should fix, please post it. I'm not one to turn down constructive criticism, by any means.

If anyone has any videos of my mod that they'd like to share, please do so! The video on the file page rather basic, and doesn't have any action shots in it either.

I will also post any updates I'm planning to release here, as well. Also, if anyone would like to test possible releases, please leave a message here.

I'll try and make a more realistic looking rotator. Mind you, I can only edit the shape of the light (if that makes sense), not how they actually cycle on or off. But I will try and make a more realistic version of the "Halogen" or "Bright Sun" coronas.

i can't make it flicker with just the texture, sorry. Someone would have to make a script. But there is a flicker/strobe setting built in to LCPDFR (Light mode 2).

The limit is definitely a pain, but well-placed lights on cars can mitigate the limit to some extent, especially when there are indicators built into a lightbar, they work great with the strobe mod/

I like the strobe mod, but I am not recommender to the indicators flashing in the strobe mod. It would be nicer if they made the break lights and rear lights flash one by one, like most police cars have.

I do see your point. I was using a charger earlier with 2 small indicators in the front of a lightbar and that specific configuration looked really good to me, but yeah I can see where all the indicators flashing might not be desirable.

I'm finishing up an LED version and will then work on another Halogen version, to (try and) mimic a real rotator. I'll have to do a little hunting to get an idea of what the end product should look like, but I might have it done in a couple hours, depending. Halogen ones are a lot easier to make than LED ones

Version 1.1 will then be ready for release.

Version 1.2 (haven't started) will be mostly all new LED's since that seems to be the one in highest demand.

I'm going to install fraps, and take some screen shots and maybe a small video! I use your non els lights along with the strob mod, and in my opinion These two mods combined BLOW ELS out of the water. I understand some users like the realistic factor of changing how the lights flash and the ability to change the directional indicators. However the invincible car bug and the doors open and closing rapidly with ELS just drove me nuts. I will get some pictures and maybe the name of the ENB that i use! Again! Keep up the great work and I will continue to support you and your light mod as much as I can. I just dont want to loose what I think is a great thing, and a great combination of two mods!!!!

Once the new demo video is uploaded for 1.1, I'll release the new version for mod approval (ETA 10 minutes).

Here are the new pictures! I am using a new ENB called Aztec ENB from Gta4-mods.com! My god do the new lights look sweet! You will notice in the picture i have the car door open and if you download the pictures to a folder and view them quickly by pressing arrow keys it looks like a video and you can see what the lights kinda look like in action! I have to make a new video now. I will upload it tonight cause it takes an hour to upload. Sorry about the spoiler tags, i dont know how to do them, so I will put the pictures on here as a link...
