GTA IV Crash problems: RC20

Featured Replies

Hello LCPDFR community, I would like to see if anyone here on this fourm could answer my question before I do a complete reinstall : Upon launching to play some lcpdfr, it works great I load up in Nikos house and then play for about 30 seconds trying to get to a police station, and this occurs GTA IV FATAL ERROR : RC20 Please re-install game. And of course I would like to know if there is a possible fix for this without reinstalling.

Thanks Magicmann, But I believe I discovered the issue with it being something occurred in my latest catalyst update causing the game to crash, so I just rolled back and works like a charm.

That's good to hear Dave,glad it's working:)

Please post the diagnostics log. Do not ask where you can find it, but look on the website. *Hint* Tom's signature *Hint*

Do you have ENB or graphic mod files installed?

It seems that I'm a little late for the party.

Hey, I know this is an older thread, but I'm getting the same exact problem. I just recently installed (from GPM) gfxle's SFPD two crown vic's, and his tahoe. (All new mods).

And now I'm getting this error.

Then there's a problem with one or more of those cars. Nothing you could fix, only the author.

I get the same error too, but I made my car. Its the car that I just released (CVPI Whelen Justice)..I added a Whelen Talon for my next version and it gives me this error....

It's a ZModeler problem that occurs when editing one part too often. Currently, there's no definite fix for it. Exporting and reimporting might help, also attaching added parts to existing ones sometimes make it work again.

RC20 is usually caused by High Poly Vehicles. Did you install any vehicle mods lately?

I've found that a majority of the time the issue lies with the materials (well this is usually the issue for me) resulting from using either too many mats or miss-configuration of the materials.

edit: I should also mention that this is just what I've noticed, it could be also one of the other issues that cj24 pointed out, however it's rarely due to High Poly vehicles.

The post you quoted is almost half a year old. I've looked more into that problem in the last months. Missconfigured materials don't cause problems ingame (apart from not working they way they're supposed to), only ZModeler shows errors.

I fixed it, some of my dummies were in the wrong spot

I've seen it happen man, maybe never come across it, but I have seen the RC20 error happen pop up due to that, It happened with a 2012 charger I'm working on just recently.

I was never having this problem until I put a new part on an existing car.  This then game me the RC20 error.  I read through here and thanks CJ24.  I took your advice and I just started new and re-imported the textures and then the wft.  Saved over existing save file and then exported over existing file.  This seemed to have worked.  I hope it lasts because this error didn't seem to happen every time.  It would seem to come every 2 times of successful play.  So crossing my fingers.
