Welcome to my showroom of works in progress, progress of the works, and in the works progress.

I've only been communicating through the medium of photo's over on the gallery and you guys seem to like what I put together, so I bit the bullet and started a WIP showroom thread...

...as a infamous unknown man once said: "This can only go badly."

I'll be posting vehicle stuff here of what I'm working on, along with if I need testers for somethings or if I'm going to release something. I might do requests depending on how I'm feeling.

Anyway, get the last page of the thread for the most recent updates and works in progress and feel free to leave comments/suggestions/harsh, soul destroying, rage-quitting criticism too.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Currently in progress: 1990 Chevy Caprice Police/Sheriff Vehicles

Using Lundy's beautiful Chevy Caprice I've added the Mars Skybolt light bar, a modified version of the Mar Skybolt Light bar with a CJ-184 Beacon and a standard Ray Model Beacon 17 Beacon with the speaker from the Mars Skybolt Light bar in front of it.

Features:

  • The vehicle currently comes with three liveries, a white LSSD livery, a black and white BCSO livery and and black and white LSPD livery.
  • Each vehicle comes with the standard 3 extras: rambar (extra_1), spotlights down (extra_2) and spotlights up (extra_3).
  • Trying to keep with era of the car, even though it's more fictional than accurate, inside there is a Lojack console, radio, siren control box, shotgun, speaker, cage, and sheriff's hat.
  • Also comes with trunk equipment too (aesthetics bro!).
  • Non-els for all those who love coronas.

To be done:

  • Keep tweaking bits and bobs on the vehicles
  • Illusionyary has giving me permission to use some of his old stuff on the vehicles, so putting together a couple of other liveries.
  • Other things too.

Known issues:

Lightbars: Collisions are off (the pretty much have none), including crashing/shooting at them. That might be down to my incompetence of flagging stuff in zmodeler.

Credits (so far):

I did my best to search and locate all of the original DEV stuff I have downloaded. If I've missed anyone or if I find out who created the asset, I'll update the list.

It'd be neat if some of them had dog dishes or some other wheel variant. The bare rim looks a little weird to me.

I was planning on adding the dog dishes to the vehicles, however it throws up a bizarre error with regards the number plate where the text either flashes, disappears and appears or shows weird hieroglyphs.

Spoiler

The error seems to come from a clash between the light bars and the addition of hubcaps.

I will end up having dog dishes on the vehicles. If anyone knows a fix, do tell, if not I'll just rebuild from the ground up.

Fyi, the Caprice is modeled by Carface80, I converted it to V and modified it from an 87 to a 1990 9C1, and the unknowns are credited to solo.

Thanks Lundy :)

No prob. Happy to see some people making something out of my Caprice!

I love older cars. Can't wait to get started on your 1995 Caprice when these are done.

Update: 1990 Chevy Caprice Police/Sheriff vehicles

Updated:

  • Dog Dishes have been added to all vehicles
  • Plate text issue has been fixed (literally rebuilt the vehicle from scratch, probably a hierarchy issue).
  • Trim removed from all LODs (I was a fool and only did L0 and L1 for some reason)

To be done:

  • Finish making a couple of liveries - another sheriff livery and maybe a Paleto Bay Township livery.
  • Test them extensively.

Known Issues:

  • Lightbar's still won't break when crashed into nor shot at. Still not sure about this.

To be done:

  • Pretty much just test them myself
  • Find other's to test them (Any takers?)

Known Issues:

  • Lightbar's still won't break when crashed into nor shot at. Still not sure about this. Just gunna have to live with it I'm afraid.

I really like the Pony, maybe you should try the Youga Classic, I have a mapped version laying around somewhere if you need it, I just need to ask the author if it's okay.
Oh, I also love that you put Psychotic Reaction by The Count Five on the video, I love 60s Garage rock and Psychedelic Rock.

Update: 1990 Chevy Caprice Police/Sheriff vehicles

  • I've learnt ELS so will probably at some point convert the caprice's to ELS. Non-ELS vehicles will be released as well (for all you ELS h8ers).

NEW: ELS Blaine County Sheriff Office pack

Features:

  • 2011 CVPI, 2015 Charger and 2013 Tahoe featuring a built from scratch vector lightbar
  • Uses a combination of DRO2 ELS lighting and coronas. Best seen with visual enhancers.
  • Carcols file allowing for coronas and the slower rotors and white rotors
  • Detailed interior
  • I'll add to this when I'm less tired...

To be done:

  • Couple of texture mis-matches. Easy fix
  • Make matching liveries... the ones being used atm are BradM's, not mine.
  • Video showing off the vehicles and their new lighting patterns

Testing:

  • This pack will be open to testers pretty soon.

Known Issues:

Haven't got around to making this list yet. It's coming!

But all I'll say is I put the models together, credits to all those who made the parts and vehicles.

Note: I'll upgrade my 1990 caprice's to ELS soon. They're not dead, promise.

04th October Update:

[Picture below]

I've been away from this thread for a while, so here's an update. I'm currently working on 4 projects, three for public release and one private one which will be released once it's done.

The three public packs are:

  • [Non-ELS] 1989/1990's Los Santos County Sheriff Chevy Caprice's - Various
  • [ELS] Los Santos Police Department pack - lightbar: Whelen Liberty II + maybe a Vector
  • [ELS] Blaine County Sheriff pack - lightbar: Vector

The release date for each is still TBC, I have a 9-5 job like anyone else, so I work on them when I can. If anything the Caprice's will be released first, as there's little work to do on those.

With regards the private project, when it's done I'll see if it can be released publicly. it does feature a Vista lightbar , so if I can't release the pack publicly, I'll put together a vehicle for public release featuring that lightbar, probably on a 1999 CVPI.

[EDIT:] This pack will be made available as soon as it's done.

Stay Tuned.
