Hello!

 

I am getting VERY slow downloads. Takes me 15mins to download a 30mb file. This only happens here. I can also onl download one file at a time. Is that normal?

Please note that LCPDFR.com does not support download accelerators, and if you are using one, this could be the source of your issue.

I agree downloads are super slow the last couple of weeks.40 minutes to download Toys new LSPD pack. I am getting 84kb per sec.Windows 10.  IE

I have High Speed Comcast cable.

Even I'm currently experiencing that 40 minute download, which is highly unusual, as even the LSPDFR download is under a minute for me.  I suspect the issue is that a lot of people are trying to download that LSPD pack at once.

 

[Edit at 23:30] While it said 40 minute download, it ended up downloading in about roughly five minutes.  I'd try downloading again and letting it go.  It may not actually take that long.

It's normal behavior for downloads here to start slow and ramp up. It basically means the file was not in the cache and the download server had to talk to the backend storage server to get the file.

All the complaints I've had so far have come from users of Comcast. I'll do some digging but this problem is probably outside our reach.

That would not surprise me.Might be throttling going on I suspect,now that you mentioned that!

Also, keep in mind that it only allows me to download one file at a time. I also have Comcast, however, I am on other Invision Communities and this does not happen. Ony here. Thanks for looking into this!

We use a much different process from usual IPS boards. We have our own significantly edited system which separates our website infrastructure from the downloads entirely.

We're working on introducing a second download server for users who are having issues with our current one. However, in the mean time I'll keep looking at this particular issue and see if I can identify it. I'll post here with updates.

Wanted to let you know I am in contact with Comcast/Xfinity over here in the US and have been working on a solution. The basic issue is that ISP's will throttle sites that might contain pirated content or have a lot of downloads without the site being "mainstream" because they could be suspected of hosting illegal content. At least this is what I am being told and from some research, it appears some do this. Right now they are having me call the "Customer Security Assurance Department" @ 1-888-565-4329 Hours: 24/7.  I can keep you updated if you would like.
