Shopping for computer to run LSPDFR

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

I'm here because I have very limited knowledge of computers. I turn 'em on and play :) I'm out to get me a new rig that can run GTA V and LSPDFR. I've been eyeballing one with below specs and I'm seeking advise amongst you experts, will this be sufficient to run said game  & mod?

Intel Core i3-7100 Kaby Lake Prosessor, Socket-LGA1151, Dual Core, 3.9GHz, 3MB cache, 51W, 14nm, HD630, incl. cooler.

ASUS Prime B250M-Plus BULK, Socket-1151, mATX, B250, DDR4, 2xPCIe-x16, CFX, 2xM.2, USB 3.0.

Crucial DDR4 2400MHz 8GB, 2x4GB 2400MHz (PC4-19200) DDR4 CL17 SR x8 Unbuffered DIMM, 288pin.

MSI GeForce GTX 1050 2GB Aero ITX OC, PCI-Express 3.0, GDDR5, 1404/1518MHz, ITX Thermal Design, Pascal.

Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5'' HDD, SATA 6.0Gb/s, 7200RPM, 64MB cache, 3.5'' Production only.

Thanks in advance. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated :)

Hi again, please ignore above spec. Turned out seller was trying to offload an inferior pc on me for an unreasonable price. I've been browsing almost every other post here regarding specs and I've built one with below specs. Do you guys see any obvious flaws in this setup? Please advise as I'm planning on ordering tonight :)

Intel Core i5-7400 Kaby Lake Processor

ASUS Prime B250M-Plus, Socket-1151 motherboard

240GB 2.5" SSD OEM

16GB RAM (2x8) DDR4 2400Mhz

ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Mini, GDDR5, 1506/1708MHz

EDIT: I'd like to know if LSPDFR is likely to look nice :)

I have found that LSPDFR isn't that heavy on my computer (Could be different for others). So I would just look at the GTA System Requirements and see if you can match them.

I know this reply is late but you got me scared with the first setup. But now with this second one, you made a good choice.

An i3 would be a no-no. The 8GB ram would be a no-no. The 2GB VRAM GPU would be a no-no.
But this one is actually noice.

The only bad thing is the single unit SSD. If you want to play with mods, you'll need 2 directories to play Online without consequences so that will be 70GBx2... yeah GTA 5 is huge but you also need a backup even if you dont play Online. But yeah an external HDD could easily solve that.

Other than that, good build man. Could you tell me how much you spent on this?

Hi iMalcolm. I did buy this and paid around 1300 usd (converted from Norwegian Krone). The setup runs comfy on very high settings. I've got a scondary storage of 1 tb on HDD, so all set there.

GTA 5 can run on just about any pc it just depends on your internet because i have a killer pc my specs are as follows

intel core i7 7700k (liquid cooled)

32GB of DDR4 ram

a GTX 1080ti graphics card

and a 800w power supply

also i got an upgraded wnc (wireless network card)

but my game only runs at a solid 2-3 fps because my internet is shit

Runs GTA5 awesome and otehr games., most at 60fps or better

Nothing is impossible The impossible just takes longer.

Thanks for the feedback man. I've already pulled the trigger on the setup for cost as mentioned above.

Your internet should have nothing to do with your FPS, unless you're actually playing online, and in which case it is lag, not FPS. You need to take a hard look at your system, because it's better than what I imagine 90% of people here have and you're experiencing absolutely abysmal frames.

I'm not the best at troubleshooting, so forgive me for sounding like the other end of any popular company's tech support line, but have you verified that your monitor output is coming from the GPU and not the motherboard, i.e. running GTA V on Intel HD Graphics 630 instead of your 1080 Ti? I've seen it way too many times not to ask you, so sorry.

Otherwise, hit up Reddit's PCMR section and ask there. Those guys know what they're doing!

ok cool. glad u got a setup going. How is it? Do u stream any? Got a youtube channel?

It's running perfectly smooth on high / very high graphic settings and with a good soup of plugins so I'm super happy with it. I've only had LSPDFR crash maybe 4-5 times and 1-2 CTD, but every time it was expected due to activating to many scripts/plugins at the same time i.e. calling coroner before EMS was done and generally executing to many things at once. #NoPatience...
And no mate, I don't stream / YT :) Mostly just lurking about Jeff Favignano's channel.

Lol. OK.  Sounds like u got a good setup.  Yeah I crashed mine other day calling coroner too soon.  I'm now having issues with using the court menu,  f9. It crashes when I use it

same i think it has something to do with lspdfr+ because the mod makes the court system bug out for me at times sometimes not even working at all

Yeah exactly.  I just stop using it. Now I just need to fix my fun lights on my vehicles

It's not your internet.  Last week I was playing gta online using my cell phone internet while waiting for new internet to b installed.

Make sure your home is connected to the video card n not a motherboard connection

@arma3gram34 internet has nothing to do with FPS mate, what? you cant run at 15 FPS with a 1080 ti and a 7700K...

I mean I have a standard 1080, OC i7 6700K and my PC runs at a whooping 50+ FPS with LSPDFR... theres something deeply attacking your software maybe... I would suggest a clean reboot because that ain't normal...
