IT WORKS

For future reference, Rob, and Logan, please read the read me text document.  The readmes that come with ELS and come with ELS models tell you specifically where to place what.  I was under the assumption you placed everything in the correct spot having followed the proper instructions.

I read on another ELS thread that ELS 1.05 doesn't support the newest GTA version which is 1103 I think. If that's the case, that might be what my issue is since I am having the same problem. I've got

  • The pack_default folder. And no, just the .xml file if there is one. There should be, if it is an ELS vehicle.

Actually both of the packages that I installed didn't say anything about that at all. The latest package I installed didn't even specify the file directories for the models themselves, but I already knew how to do that so I was good. I guess it's because the mod creators assume that the players already know what they're doing, which isn't always the case. I didn't even figure this out through a readme, I just started file browsing and found it.

As flustered as it makes me that they don't specify this, the models are fantastic and I'm just happy that I got it working for both of us now. So I can't complain. But at least now when someone else has this same issue, they can figure out how to fix it.

In ELS's download, there is a "Documentation" folder.    In this folder are three docs, one is a userguide.

Loading VCFs In order for a group of VCFs to be detected by ELS, they must be placed in a folder (called a VCF container folder) within the ELS folder. The name of the VCF container folder must be specified in the ADMIN section of the ELS.ini file. VCFs placed inside the ELS folder proper or inside any folder within the ELS folder the name of which is not specified in the ADMIN section of the ELS.ini will not be detected by ELS.

In order to be activated, a VCF must have as its file name the name of a valid game vehicle model slot, in addition to the “.xml” file extension. For instance, a user desiring to apply an ELS configuration to the POLICE3 slot should name the desired VCF: “POLICE3.xml”. ELS will recognize add-on vehicle model names.

Having downloaded almost all ELS cars that have been released, I can tell you most, if not all, came with instructions either in the form of a readme, or by how the path in the download was done.  For example, in some downloads, you have to go through one or two folders that are a mirror of your GTA V directory, such as plugins-->LSPDFR.  This is their way of showing you where it goes.

Yeah you're right, I read over them since they weren't in the actual readme itself. That's my own fault, sometimes I get a little complacent haha.

I know I have the newest version, and it's working for me. Have you experimented with other vehicles models than the one you're currently trying to use? Also, look up at the rest of this topic and make sure that Rob's issues weren't one of your own. If none of the above help, then I don't know mate. I'd suggest making another thread entirely in the GTA V Support section to see if maybe someone more experienced can help you, of course they might always find their way here.

Then maybe you can help me haha. I just downloaded els last night. Installed all the files and watched videos. Learned i was missing the advancedhook.dll file so i downloaded that. Still wasnt working. All the .xml files are inside the pack default folder and the models have been replaced (the cars show up fine (for the most part but thats another story))

I have no siren control, only when i click my horn on my controller the siren will activate and the only lights that work are the 2 brake lights and thats it. No internals, side runner, or lightbar lights work.

I just wiped my GTAV game to have a fresh install of everything (including LSPDFR) even tho i just installed everything like 4 days ago

Are you sure the model is an ELS car?
