GTA IV Stopped Working during loading sequence

Recommended Posts

I need some help:

I have a steam copy of GTA IV and after installing some mods it stopped working. During the loading sequence were all the artwork appears, after a couple minutes the window saying GTA IV stopped working. This happened after I installed ELS 8 and some car models. The only mods I have are: LCPDFR (works fine), Native tranier V.6 (works fine), ELS and the car models.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Your only bet would be the car mods, because you don't have any script mods, the only mods you have is LCPDFR, Native Trainer, and ELS. So, I would recommend getting some new cars. If that doesn't work, then just go to your steam library, go to GTA IV, and then hit properties, local files, and then verify game integrity cache, so it can look into the GTA IV folder, and see if you have some missing files and reinstall those files for you. If it still doesn't work, then just let me know and I'll see what I can do for you.

Hi,

As above listed, that may be the issue.

But I do have some things you can try

  • Ensure that you are running as administrator
  • Right click on LaunchGTAIV.exe and head over to compatibility, try running it with XP Service Pack 3
  • Head over to the ELS.ini, scroll down to the bottom till you find:

Ai_Els_Sp
Ai_Els_Mp

  • Set those to off (case sensitive), then try launching again

If what I have listed does not work, here are some things you can try:

Restore the vehicles.img folder that you should have backed up, then try adding the cars in 1 by 1.

If you have not backed your vehicles.img file up, then you will have to find a vehicles.img original backup that someone has uploaded. I cannot provide one on this site because I do believe that it is illegal.
