creating NON-ELS lights help?

Featured Replies

Could any of the modders here give me a hand with creating some non-els lights please? I've extracted the comet and imported it into zmodeler. I know the basics of how to do it, but if someone could give me some good solid instructions it would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Create some new dummies which you call: siren1, siren2, siren3, siren4, siren5, siren6, siren7, siren8.

siren1 flashes red.

siren2 flashes white/blue.

siren3 flashes red.

siren4 flashes white/blue.

siren5 flashes red.

siren6 flashes white/blue.

siren7 flashes red.

siren8 flashes white/blue.

Move your dummies on to your lightbar or grill lights or where ever you want them.

Should look sooometing like this:

How do you create dummies?

I usually just use the ones already found in the default IV cruiser

Oh, I was creating spheres, then converting them to dummies, would that affect it?

Also, I'm a little unsure as to where it should be in the hierarchy, I'm putting it on comet.wft/chasis/ and then next to the front right indicator (where the light is located)

Looking at yours though, I'm a little unsure if that is correct.

Thanks for your help, it's really appreciated.

I usually put mine near the top to ensure its displayed, if its placed behind the windscreen but its at the bottom of hierarchy, it won't show ingame.

Which is why if I'm doing that, I'll make sure its above the windscreen in the hierarchy.

I guess that would work aswell. Never tried it though! : p

Don't worry about the hierarchy, that was just an example. Eveything should be inside the wft! ; ) And I always put my misc_c or where ever my lights are right under chassis_L2.

Ah, that's cool, thanks. I've managed to get it working, but now my headlights aren't working :/ The light is shown on the ground, but the lights aren't on. Is that to do with the hierarchy?

Try moving your lights up your hierarchy list. If that does not work, copy your lights lightsemissive (e.g speedo_lights lightsemissive) material and reassign your lights to that (your new copy).
