Do you think random spot check is needed to make the country more safer

Featured Replies

I would like to ask you guys.  Do you feel there is a need for sobriety check points and random id checks..

I personally think that it is necessary!! It will make US more safer. Now currently the world's is full of ISIS and ISIS follower. Even country that are very safe such as Singapore is also very on high alerts.  As recent there are a few ISIS caught in Malaysia.

For my country Singapore,  when a police spot - check or request you to show your identity card. You cannot rejected/delicined their request.  If I am not wrong,  Singapore got a laws which stated failing to show your identity card to a law enforcement officer either to customs officer or police officer is a charges.  I believe hong kong also this laws.

I feel that this is good actually. Because in that way ,  they can catch people with warrants and can deter crime. Because once they got screening /spot check (ID check) by police officer, Their particulars will be recorded in the police system. This make investigation officer or in US term (detectives) work more easier,  because they can narrowed down who might be the possible suspects/perps.

The screening/spot check system will shown all the person checks during the time, location when this particular crime happens at that places.

Police roadblock

I think police road block is also good because it can also catch the person with warrant suprisely.  Road block (sobriety check points) can also use to catch people with drugs, drink driving, illegal immigrant.

I do not know whether how the police in US and UK work is like. Please share. Thanks you

In my country 🇸🇬 Singapore

Spot check can deter any criminal wannabe.  Because once you got check by police,  it will be record and store in police database. So in any cases,  when that particulars area got crime incidents happening on the areas,  location and time matching the time you got checked, physical appearance, clothings  .and you happened to Matchs the description given by the robbed victim, you will be ask to come for investigation office to be assisting in interview/interrogation.  This will help things easier for the investigation officer or aka detective.

We have RBT (Random Breath Testing) checkpoints here with booze buses, and cops manning the side roads so you can't turn around to avoid them. Usually they check your license state and for drugs also. I think DUI checkpoints are a good thing as it stops dangerous drivers.

look at hong kong and singapore. they are reputable  one of the safest country among the world thanks to the tough laws .

singapore police and hong kong are some of the police in the world that i know would regularly conduct anti prostitution , anti drugs , anti gang operations and raids to fight crime

In singapore,  normally the police officer will  conduct id checks,  their key target is those with big group of people.  In short,  they will conduct check on  teenager /teens in big groups. And people with many tattoos or places where there is many crime happening(crime Hotspot) . They will check anyone, regardless of your skin colour, your race or religion

because its illegal and we don't have many terror attacks...stop watching the biased media who fill gullible people like you with fear...you are more likely to be killed by a cop then a terrorist, also we have a thing called a constitution that prevents police from infringing rights we also have that constitution to protect us from a tyrannical government...go back to history class

then don't come onto here and tell americans what we should do with our country...history shows that those who give up liberty for security end up with neither and under a tyrannical government such as Germany, Italy, rome, soviet union and countless others

Don't take anything he says seriously. I may not have the best historical reputation on this forum in terms of political discussions, but he's a known conspiracy theorist. His views are shared by a minority of Americans that are regularly ignored because their views don't make any sense. I suggest you conduct your own research if you want factual information.

Personally, I would take "security" over "privacy" any day of the week, that is because I have nothing to hide, on my ID or my person. So that 5 minute chat and ID check, I honestly wouldn't mind a bit, and wouldn't go bitching about how some cop harassed me on my way to work. They know who I am, we have a nice quick chat and go on about our day, 5 minuted of my and their day.

The government and the police should not be considered to be the same thing, but if it is there's some serious shit going on. Nazi Germany 2.0, dude give me a fucking break, you have not the slightest clue how far we are from that.

while that may be valid and your opinion , but knight is correct , those are your freedoms your messing with not the lunch menu at work ..and sure you may not be nazi germany but how would the founding fathers feel about your view? prob ashamed. they fought for your rights .. literally fought and feel "security" really? how high must you be? because there is NO way you as grown adult could defend yourself? Im sorry but i would not give up my rights if i were american because you cant fight.
