Vehicle build tutorial

Sorry I just notice I never updated this.

I've been streaming the past two weeks on a car pack build I'm working on. (Mostly for personally use but may release what I can of it).

I have video's saved from the past broadcasts. I'll be streaming most of the day today. Sorry for the late notice.

Here is the link to my stream: https://www.twitch.tv/socalthero2002

click the button to follow so you know when I'm online and can watch my builds. I've built about 5 vehicles I think so far with about another 12 to go for this pack. Feel free to ask questions and I'll try and click over to the chat every now and then to answer them.

Hey everyone,

I always get lots of questions pm to me about building a police vehicle using ZModeler along with how to create a template as well as working with ELS.

My microphone doesn't work right now to where I can talk to you but I can leave the chat open and answer questions for people as I go along and have a q and a at the end of it.

Most vehicle builds can take anywhere from 6 to 15 hours with very minimal details so I'm gonna leave out certain details but focus primarily on building a model and a light bar for you along with a template so it isn't as time consuming.

If you are interested let me know in this message and also below is a link to my channel for the day I do this.

I'm getting over the flu now so I should be good by Sunday if my game doesn't want to cooperate it's fine as well because I can just build it and you won't be able to see me troubleshoot any problems that come up.

I'll try recording at the same time as well for anyone who can't make it if interested

This seems like a great idea for inexperienced vehicle modders like myself, however I I'd also recommend uploading the livestream after. I wish u the best of luck

Sadly will have a track meet? Any way you can just Record separate tutorials?

And for the longer videos you can maybe speed them up while adding some commentary on what it is that you are doing

I had to change the date to next Sunday due to a prior appointment I forgot

Okay

So got really heavy into xbox and kind of fell off the modding world (Typically happens, I jump from one to the other).

I'm going to film myself building an entire car. I'm going to live stream it for those that follow my stream and watch and try and edit and video tape it and post it to my youtube channel in pieces for people that can't catch it or it lasts longer then one day.

I haven't decided a day or days to do this so it'll be pretty random. Sorry about this.

*NOTE* I listen to music while I mod. I can't help it, it gets to stale and boring just building a car with no music. With the videos they probably won't have sound but I will do my best to edit in text explaining what I am doing on screen.

@Thero Your twitch videos are all really good, just a bit advanced for me. I'd really like to get into vehicle modding but there aren't very many good or recent tutorials. Is there any way you can make a simple bare bones tutorial? Maybe using a DEV model, add a basic ELS light bar, UV map a simple livery, then export? I'd be willing to pay for it. Also maybe some captions to explain your keystrokes/steps?

You don't have to pay for it, its fine.

I can probably do that.

Part 1 of the Taurus build covers this but I could simplify it on another car or something. I know 3 hours is a lot to sit through lol.

@TheroI appreciate it. I'll be sure to "donate" to you for your time then. I don't mind spending a few hours watching a good tutorial. With your current ones, it's just hard to understand what you are doing and WHY you are doing it; especially when it comes to the more advanced items (interiors, extras). That's why I'm suggesting a more "basic" build focusing on the main components with captions or someway to highlight/explain the important steps.

How did you learn to mod? Are there any good reference materials you can point me to or things you used to learn? I'm a quick study. I used to mod cars for NFS HS back in the day. The core concept seems the same but the tech is way more advanced now.

Sounds good. I may try to record Sunday and I'll make it a pretty basic one. It'll just be a car with a ELS lightbar and a template is all.

To be honest I wasn't planning on learning until Captain14 asked me to template all off his models he has released on here. Thats how I learned templates. Everything else was just trial and error really with different cars, different problems, and troubleshooting them to the best I can before I asked on here.

That and I used to make car models for LCPDFR so it came kind of easy being back into it again with a few changes.
