For whatever reason, the last couple of Chevy Trailblazer models I have tried give me this problem:

I love everything about that one, except the glitch. I think I've seen this problem before but I can't for the life of me remember what the solution is. And don't tell me it's the model. lol I've seen this model used just fine before, there are YouTube videos of it, that's how I found it. I also searched the forum and Google for a solution and couldn't find one.

So, any ideas?

"LMaster". The video on YouTube of it also has a comment on it claiming the same thing I am. I've also tried a civilian model of the same truck to see of it has the same issues, and indeed it does.

Looks like it could be related to the suspension settings in handling.dat?

Well, I know they replace the Bobcat on the civilian version, so mabe the 'PolPatriot' settings wont work? No idea why that would be. I can try resetting those values later on and see how they work (it's about midnight now, so I'm not up to it atm). Never done that before, myself.

Okay it looks like it was indeed the handling settings, thanks. Only thing is now it handles more like a sports car instead of an SUV (I own a Trailblazer so the authors settings are BS) and now the model sometimes applies the skin and sometimes doesn't (which I can seem to fix by cycling through cars again). Now the only thing I'm turly concerned with is that the metallic parts (the rims, the roof rack, the ram bar) are all dark blue, rather than black. I dunno what the hell this guy was thinking when he released this... I love the model, but good god.

Carcols? Anyway I haven't been able to fix it. I tried changing the color of the car textures in Photoshop to dark grey, and that only made the car skin a flat grey, so I'm stumped. Anybody else know? I'd use BXBug's Trailblazer but I wanted an unmarked one.

Sounds like one of the liveries is a transparent texture? Does the model use four liveries like the majority of police car mods? If so, export the skin you want on it then import it for all of the liveries in the wtd

No there is only one livery and it's white. I wanted it black, so I did so in Photoshop, then imported it on top of the white one. Instead it seems to make the black livery not visible and the metalic parts of the car (rims, roof rack, push bars) become blue. No idea why.

Carcols.dat? Familiar? Common/Data? It might help...

And can you tell me a bit about those? Never edited them before.

Well you could give my handling a try. I try to make my handlings as real as possible, and if I remember well, I made a trailblazer handling already.

Afaik,its a vehicles.ide problem.Try this and see how it goes:

VEH@VAN, VEH@VAN_FO1_FO1, 100, 999,  0.2786, 0.2786,  0, 4, 1.5 ,1, truckfirefx+livery

Please remember that the line has to be replaced from the fifth value onwards.

Alright, before I dive into the handling aspect of it, I got the white skin to work, black will not work for me no matter how hard I try. As far as the metallic parts go, they are clearly blue, they are not showing up black or even silver. Is there a specific area I need to try and modify that in ninja?

It really doesn't sound like a carcols issue, sounds like a spec map texture was replaced, if that's possible

Did you import the file as a PNG instead of DDS?

Looks like it has to do with the way the model's textures have been mapped. Take a look at TBR_BodyReflection. This combined with paintjob.DDS.png is what's screwing up the metallic parts on the body. Apparently the idiot who converted this vehicle mapped paintjob.DDS.png to the ENTIRE model, instead of just the body of it. You could attempt to correct TBR_BodyReflection or you could try and figure out what parts of paintjob.DDS.png are mapped to the metallic body parts.

Either way it will be a pain in the ass, as the author of this file screwed up big time.

TL;DR, cut your losses and wait for a proper unmarked version of this vehicle. Sorry bud.
